THFKDLF headed out to Bright Tradeshow, Berlin to showcase their upcoming collections and produce a capsule over the 3 day show. Here is what happened. Bright is an original platform which conveys a snapshot of modern lifestyle within an atmosphere relevant to its target group. Since culture is in constant motion, and the influences of its trends are always evolving, the element of its perception fluctuates between art, sport and music. Above all, authenticity is the leading component. thfkdlf.com / brighttradeshow.com / ae-sewingmachines.co.uk Filmed on the Sony A7SII Rig: Movcam A7SII cage Timelapse: Sony A7II Lenses: Zeiss Loxia 35mm f2 / 50mm f2 4K / 1920 x 1080 HD / 16:9 / 24fps Music: Ember Island - Can't feel my face Album - 3 Roses x Ember Island Cover Label: Non
  6. Hi! I'd like to share some tests I've been doing with my brand new sony a7rII. I used quite a lot of lenses in this video, including some anamorphic set ups. I reeeeally like this camera so far.
  7. I just finished my new anamorphic wildlife video. I filmed for three days over the last few months on St. Vincent Island Wildlife Refuge. A very unique and beautiful place. So before you and I get lost in Starwars, The Revenant and The Hateful Eight, please sit back relax and take a journey through this wild island with me. Technical: Filmed on a Panasonic GH4 in 4k Bolex 16/32 1.5x anamorphic lens with Voigtländer 25mm F0.95, Voigtländer 42.5mm F0.95 and Takumar SMC 135mm F2.5 V2 as taking lens. I shot in anamorphic 4:3 mode on GH4.

  10. Hello, My name is Daniel Kharlak. I'm a long time reader and lurker and I've decided to join the forum and share some of my work. This is a film I shot in my senior year of film school for my friend John. We were looking for a look that was reminiscent of intimate 70s photography and wanted to avoid the crisp, shiny look of modern DSLRs and large-sensor cameras, and go for something grittier and all-together more old-school. So in a fit of monstrous insanity, we fitted an Eiki 16mm anamorphic adapter to a Panasonic HPX already wearing a Letus Depth-of-Field adapter. It was a Frankenstein-esque contraption that required calibration at the top of every day. It's a procedure and a look that I don't think anyone else has tried before. I hope that you guys enjoy! And try to spot the one single shot that we actually pulled focus on!
  11. Did a little test yesterday with a friend, getting shots have become much quicker since I can single focus with the FM now. This is a relevantly cheap setup as I got the takumar for about $70(US), Isco Ultra star fro about $400, FM was about $750. Pentax Super Takumar 50mm 1.4, Isco Ultra Star Anamorphic Lens, Focus Module Lens, Panasonic GH4, Natural Picture Profile with all settings dialed down, Simple color grade in Premiere, BGM : Bic Runga 'Listening for the Weather'
  12. Hi anamorphic friends, I'm working a lot these past months so I post less than usual ;) Here is a teaser of the new album of Arthur H, a famous french singer. It was done before last summer, shot on GH3 + my baby Hypergonar 1.75x on my Qioptiq 35mm f1.6 MeVis-C C-mount lens. Badfully I didn't have the GH4 yet ;) My actual work is a 26mn Making Of a long feature movie, shot by me in 4K anamorphic in Ethiopia last november. Stay tune. Thanks
  13. Comes with: Sankor 16c in great condition 46mm thread Redstan clamp pics up soon $400 shipped in USA
  14. Testing out lenses with the Iscorama 36 wide open. I really want that separation from the background. It's easy now with the Metabones Speedbooster EF. There is something to be said about full frame lenses used with the Speedbooster vs micro 4/3rds native lenses. Also the Iscorama is the sharpest of the anamorphic adapters, although there are still some lenses that don't do well wide open. Shot on a GH4 4K (before v2.0 firmware, 16:9). Iscorama minimum distance is around 6 feet, half that with the Tokina +0.4 diopter.
  15. UPDATE: FOR FOCAL LENGTH PLEASE CHOOSE FULL-FRAME (35MM) EQUIVALENT (with focal reducer calculated into equation if used)! I think you should be able to delete your vote and then re-vote if you haven't. If your exact answer is not listed, please chose the closest. Feel free to explain and/or elaborate in the comments below.
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh_IGpE-JGA&list=UUBWpVAaEn9CvmidPcK_mFHw After work yesterday, drove past the Auckland Domain. Weather was too good to pass up the opportunity to shoot something. Although it got cold really fast again. Can't believe its supposed to be summer. Slowly getting used to the dual focusing. I found myself rushing a little bit in this kind of situation because I wanted to get shots while the sun was still up.
  17. Screw A7s! Here's my 60D in low light lol. Just a quick test around the city. Tell me what you think. Is this set up working? Pentax 50mm 1.4 mounted with Isco ultra anamorphic lens http://vimeo.com/113132382
  18. Just a short fashion film I shot during a photoshoot the other day. Its pretty much the first real thing I have shot with my anamorphic lens, mainly due to its lack of run and gun ability, but I found with the 35-70 things worked out pretty smoothly. Never had to swap out lenses and it performs very well. I did not use the new firmware update photo mode. Mostly 48 & 60 fps Let me know what you think?! (Ive got a 15second version on my page too)
  19. Hey, Was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with this. I am totally new to this topic, I know absolutely nothing about it. I work for a local movie theater, and they had an old projector upstairs, with this lens attached to it. The manager said I could take it, so I figured I'd post online to find out more about it, and maybe see if it's worth anything. I had troubles uploading the pictures directly, so I hope linking is okay on this site. Lens is in good condition, just needs to be cleaned up. Hasn't been used in years. Thanks in advance. http://tinypic.com/r/2d94izn/8 http://tinypic.com/r/c3xja/8 http://tinypic.com/r/mv46zb/8 http://tinypic.com/r/w811jn/8
  20. I don't know if this has been posted before, but here's Mauri Galiano's very nice test which compares the GH4's various aspect ratios in 4k "Photo" mode using a Bolex 16/32 1.5x, an Isco 1.7x and a 2x Proskar. This sealed my decision to finally pull the trigger on a GH4. The only limitation I see right now is it's only in 30p and 25p. Apparently someone within Panasonic is pushing hard for 24p. Otherwise the GH4 (except low light) is an embarrsment of riches. eris
  21. 4th anamorphic exercise, now with +1 diopter. Shot in Tel Aviv, Nov. 7, 2014 using a Panasonic GH4 in 4K Photo Mode, 3:2 aspect ratio, Cine D. Lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.4, Rectimascop 48/2x anamorphic. Edited and graded with FCPX.
