  1. Here is a short clip from last night, just hanging out down by the river with this massive swing my father put in. Love it down there, bonfires, drinks, nature, swings over the water.   https://vimeo.com/72460915
  2. Hi   I just have bought a Canon 5DMKIII and am experimenting with the RAW hack. As a Anamorphic lover i would like to pair my 1968 Iscorama x1.5 (m42 mount with the original 50mm f2.8) with the MKIII. Coming from a GH2 crop sensor world and new to the FF world i would like to ask for some advise. On the GH2 i used the Helios 44-2 and a old FD50mm as the taking lens. Not so keen on the Helios....   Which (old) manual lens would be a great combination on the MKIII? (As a taking lens) Love the flares of my Iscorama so i am looking for a non/single coated solution. Any experiences?   Never used the MKIII with the Magic Lantern anamorphic combi yet. Is the hack de-squizing live, even in the RAW mode?    Hope that you guys are willing to share some thoughts.   Thank you in advanced.
  3. Ultra rare Original ISCORAMA anamorphic lens with Nikon F-mount. Here it is mounted on my nikon d3000 for reference. Mint condition, full metal body, solid construction and heavy. Comes apart and there are two pieces. Rear elements are extremely clean. Comes with 72mm UV filter and hard leather case. For more information please contact me on here or at thomasminerphotography@gmail.com http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130962018872&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123   Pictures I've taken with the lens http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx164/tommyboy11/Example3.jpg http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx164/tommyboy11/Example4.jpg http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx164/tommyboy11/Example1.jpg http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx164/tommyboy11/Example2.jpg
  4. Hi All, I just finished a big review of the Flare Factory 58 lenses from Dog Schidt Optics. You can read the full review here http://www.robbannister.com/blog/   The mandatory cat test was shot with the Neutral FF58 and the iscorama and the other video with the Amber FF58 is not with the anamorphic because I had sent it off for the close focus mod. Though the Amber version pairs really well with the iscorama and you can see a small sample of that at the end with the car.   https://vimeo.com/67975230   https://vimeo.com/69262934   straight out of the camera no CC, password: radioactive https://vimeo.com/68393006
  5. Hey guys,   This might have come up before, but I seem to be having a strange phenomenon while using any thrid party taking lens with my Iscorama pre 36.  The stock nikkon 2.8 fixed lens that came with the Isco doesn't display these "icicle" like artifacts from flaring. This happens with my Nikkon 50mm  f1.4, and my Helios 58mm 44-2m, and also some weird transparent vignetting happens with the iris blades on both.  I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening, and or have a possible solution for it.     The picture below is with my Nikkon 50mm f1.4, very simular to the results of the helios.
  6. Hope this doesn't break the rulz... but If anyone has got an Iscorama they want to sell pls PM me. Thanks
  7. What are the honest odds of getting an iscorama 54 non multi coated anywhere at all. Just gotta get lucky? Theres one multicoated one on ebay.   Also wondering if anybody had a picture comparison of the multicoated vs non multicoated?
  8. Greetings all, This is my first post here but I've lurked for quite some time, particularly in the anamorphic forum. I recently bought an Iscorama 36mc 1.5x anamorphic lens from another member here (QuickHitRecord) and wanted to share some of the results I've been getting.  This lens has quickly become my favorite lens!  A refreshing change from the perfect/sterile "Canon L glass look". http://vimeo.com/65643270   Camera: 75% Canon 5D Mark III (more towards the beginning) 25% Blackmagic Cinema Camera (more towards the end)   Lenses: Vivitar 28mm 2.5 M42 mount + Iscorama 36mc 1.5x Iscorama 50mm 2.8 M42 mount + Iscorama 36mc 1.5x Canon 85 mm 1.2L + Iscorama 36mc 1.5x   Adapters: Genus 77mm variable ND filter Polaroid 72mm Close-Up +1 filter (only on a few tighter shots toward the end.) More thoughts in the description on Vimeo.  What do you think? Also, I don't know how first posts are supposed to go or what's considered cheesy but I just wanted to say I look forward to becoming a more active member of the community here.  I hope to learn much and contribute where I can. 9. If you are looking for anamorphic lenses - you already know this is the holy grail of them all. Covers full frame at 50mm and 100% rack focusable.   Mint condition with both front and rear caps. Includes it's original 50mm f/2.8 taking lens in Nikon mount. This is the original 1968 single coated version.   I am willing to sell it for $x,xxxx.xx cash meetup at a local NYC bank or trade for some 8mm anamorphics + cash on your end. I'd also consider a deal for a 35mm OCT-19 LOMO squarefront in mint shape.   Thanks for your time.
  10. Shot some small tests with the Iscorama on my d800 last week. Shot on D800 with the nikon 50mm 1.4D and Tokina +0.4 diopter and Hoya +1 diopter. I did the edit in premiere, grading in speed grade and second grade in nuke using some custom grading filters I made using filters from on set.   My site www.robbannister.com   Downloads page http://www.robbannister.com/downloads/   videos CC1 http://vimeo.com/64450588   CC2 http://vimeo.com/64464863   Hopefully I'll have some stuff really worth showing soon.   Rob
  11. Hi Guys! Hey Andrew!    Nice to finally be on EOSHD.    I'm from Sydney, Australia and this is my first post! So we'll see how this goes.    This is my first music video shot on a anamorphic lens (KOWA B&H).   Any constructive feedback, criticism, tips, advice etc or just a chat is welcome and appreciated!    Would be cool to our share knowledge and experiences from all over the world.   Hope you like the video (and hopefully the music aswell loll).   Lana Lyric - S.W.A.G.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzVw6ZcgwbM   Talk soon guys.   Ray Ayos.

Just another short shoot with the iscorama and D800. I used the hyperdeck shuttle 2 recording to DnxHD out of the hdmi port.   http://vimeo.com/64695364
  13. Does anyone have any opinion on these Isco lenses that vid atlantic sells from their site.  Are they worth it?  I am so new to anamorphic that I am really just trying to gather as much information before I make a purchase.  I am shooting with a 5D Mk III and so I am really looking for the right adapter to fit what I have.   http://www.vid-atlantic.com/lensshop.html
  14. Here is my latest music video:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw8NaQqBI3I   Only the beginning and end sections were shot anamorphically.  The green screened elements were shot with spherical lenses.
  15. I visit my brother, niece and sister in law, and I met in Toulouse Olivier, a anamorphic lenses collector. He lent me for this week end one of his Iscorama. It was the first and hope not the last time that I have this lens in my hand. It's working very well, sharp, and usable for closed shots without a diopter.   <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/61965327" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe> <p><a href="http://vimeo.com/61965327"     GH3 AVCHD 1080 50P natural mode 1080 50P Iscorama non MC 1.5X version, apparently more 1.4X, that what I've done on post Yashica 55mm f2 Contax mount light craft ND variable filter Tokina 0.5 diopter here is a face to face Iscorama / baby Hypergonar : vimeo.com/61788864
  16. Hello everyone, here is a quick and non scientific comparison between the Iscorama 1.33X very rare version (taht I have just for this past week end) and my baby hypergonar 1.75X.     <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/61788864" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe> <p><a href="http://vimeo.com/61788864" Iscorama 36 non MC 1.33X version Pentax Takumar 55mm f2 Pentax mount   VS    baby Berthiot Hypergonar   1.75X version   Contax Zeiss Planar 45mm f2 Contax G mount   on GH3 natural mode 1080 50P light craft ND variable filter Tokina 0.5 diopter
  17. Hello fellow lens gurus, I've been looking to buy some kind of start lens, to what will hopefully soon be my anamorphic lens collection. I tired to buy a set of oct-19 lomos over the summer but was endlessly outbid. I'm a canon 5dmk3 and canon l series glass owner, and have wanted to adapt or better yet, actually own anamorphic primes that work on a full frame sensor without dual focusing or piggybacking lens together. I found this on eBay today but don't know much about this lens other than its a later isco and is multi coated. The nice thing seems to be that it already is equipt with and canon lens mount, but I'm not sure if this 50mm lens will cover the full frame sensor on the 5d3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/130864721991?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Take a look and let me know your thoughts before I consider plopping down 2gs. Thanks for your help as always guys!!
  18. Hi everyone    I´m a young video director from Madrid-spain, (www.MauriDGaliano.com)   I want to share with this great community my passion for  vintage Anamorphic Lenses.   I´ve been reading this forum a lot of times, but is the first time that i write something.   Allow me the honor to share my last Anamorphic video, a Drum cover for the Artist "Deivhook",the best Drummer in Spain.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13zPG1ebHlo     I shoot this video with my basic set: Panasonic GH2 Flowmotion v2.2 + fd50mm 1.8 + Bolex Anamorphot 16/32 1.5x.   The Bolex is the little girl of all my lenses...the "jewel of the crown",   The  rare 1.5x ratio suits perfect for almost everything, and its super-easy to make the double focus with it, in this video theres no flares, but this lens have the best flares  i´ve seen. Flare sooo easy, blue-deeply flares like Panavision C series. Mindblowing.   Now i have a clamp, from VidAtlantic, but im interested in upgrade to Redstan, i´ve seen that redstan have a custom Clamp for the little brother of my lens, the 8/19 1.5x, And im asking myself if he has one custom clamp for my lens.   Someone can give me the contact of Redstan?   I hope that you enjoy the video!   If someone have a question about the lens, ask me!   PD: I already knows that i suck writing in english, sorry!
  19. Since I have all three at the moment, I decided to make a test for my fellow anamorphic enthusiasts:    http://vimeo.com/60401188   Not exactly scientific, but I tried to be methodical. The Iscorama is sharp wide open, but my Iscomorphot 2x has to be closed down to f/2.8 or smaller, and the Iscomorphot 1.5x really isn't too useful before f/5.6.   They each have their own unique character. Which image do you prefer?
  20. I shot this last summer with the Iscorama Cinegon in front of a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 pancake, as recommended by Andrew.  The lens is sharp and sturdy, but it doesn't flare nearly as much as other lenses I've paired the Isco with...   http://vimeo.com/56795354
  21. I'm learning filmmaking besides my fulltime job, and unfortunately I haven't found much time to edit the footage I shoot yet. I put up one short clip for a few friends to see though, so I thought I might share it with you guys as well.   https://vimeo.com/59350324     Sadly enough, I found out that the fine detail was lost and that the sand which is blowing around in the foreground was quite blocky when vimeo had recompressed it. The original footage looks a whole lot better. If you guys have any tips on how to get the best anamorphic footage possible on vimeo/youtube, I'd love to hear them. I'm wondering if a 2538x1080 source uploaded to vimeo would have resulted in better video than the 1280x544 video I uploaded...   Also, I'm quite happy about how nicely the D800 is handling the dynamic range in this shot. In the light where I shot this footage I know that my old Nikon D200 stills camera wouldn't have captured a still with this much dynamic range in it.
  22. Hello! I'm searching for the Iscorama focusable anamorphic 1.5x adapter. Is anyone have any suggestion now? Also I like Bolex Moller 16\35 1.5x. Wait for your answers! Thanks!
  23. Hello,   I search a Iscorama 36, 42, 54 or 8 x 1.5 Iscomorphot. This is often asked here, I'll try anyway. I would pay a price of € 1400. is that realistic? The lens may also have small errors, Cleaning Marks and so I do not think bad! Sorry for my English, I'm from Germany. Please, I'm looking for a long time afterwards!   Best Regard   Andreas Stenzel
  24. I'm currently use a canon 70-200 f4 with my iscorama 54 on my 5d mark II and it fits perfectly and allows me to zoom with the canon and focus with the isco.  I'm thinking about buying a BMCC and an not sure how to mirror this setup on that camera. I did look at the panasonic 35-100 f2.8 but its kinda pricey.   Also what is the widest lens that I can use on the BMCC with a iscorama 54? 28mm?     Any other suggestions?      Thanks Greg
  25. After months of testing, I finally made a short subject with my Iscorama Cinegon.    http://vimeo.com/55805847   "Death You're So Cold" by Warren Jackson Hearne & Le Leek Electrique.
