My cameras and kit

  1. Hi, I have a deal to get macbook pro with retina display, and I m wondering if the 2.6 version with 16 G or RAM would be enough for the BMC postproduction with RAW DNG files - for editing on Premiere and color correction on new Resolve, or do I have to wait for the new iMac 3.6 i7 with 32 G or RAM (iMac also has option for a much better graphic card)? Also is Cuda working on either of these machines? Thanks a lot for your insights.
  2. Hi, I m trying to set up the best lens kit for the price for the BMC camera. I need your opinion on what's better: OPTION 1: Samyang 8mm f3.5 (video version) Samyang 24mm f1.4 (video version) Samyang 35mm f1.4 (video version) Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 Price: approximately $2400 These are all full frame lenses (except for the last one), so they have future value and since all are EF, I would opt for EF mount BMC OPTION 2: Samyang 8mm f3.5 (video version) Samyang 35mm f1.4 (video version) Voigtlander Nokton 17.5mm f0.95 Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f0.95 Noktor SLR Magic 12mm f1.6 Price: approximately $3690 This option has 3 m4/3 lenses (not as future proof as full frame lenses), but way faster wides. I would have to go for BMC with m4/3 mount. Also this option is considerably more expensive - arround $1300, for my tight budget. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you very much for your time and effort.
  3. I have one question that has been creeping out since the announcement of the m4/s mount. Originaly I have planned to use my set of Samyang lenses (8, 24, 35) and Tokina 11-16, all EF mount as the main lenses for the BMC. Now with the announcment of m4/3 all world of lenses that I have used on GH2 opens up, including my absolute favorite LOMO OCT 18 mount russian lenses, however my dilemma is, if I opt to get m4/3 camera would I see any difference on my EF lenses (as opposed to going with the original mount for BMC) as well as how to change the aperture on my Tokina (as that would have to still be my main lens for BMC)? Would it be better to just go for ZE/EF or for m4/3 in my situation? Thanks a lot!
  4. Hi all, First of all thanks for taking your time to read my post. Here is my situation I have hacked GH2 that I use for shooting short narrative films and I also intended to shoot a feature on it. Now with the appearance of the Black Magic Cinema camera I m considering selling my GH2 and buying the BM camera, however I really love what I get from my liitle GH2. Now first question is would this be a smart decission, or should I keep shooting on my GH2. In case that my finances improve drastically I m considering buying a BM camera without selling my GH2, which leads to my second question - would I be ablr to shoot with these 2 cameras a serious narrative film in a 2 camera set-up situation? If yes, than that is something to seriously think about. And my last question is would I be able to use my LOMO OKC 18 lenses and my Carl Zeiss 85mm 1.4 on BM camera, and if yes what kind of adapter would I need? I simply love these lenses and practically shoot 99% of my stuff with them (I still need to save up for 14 mm and 35mm Semyang as I m having problems with focus pulling on some shots with my LOMO's). Anyway, thanks a lot on your responses. I m looking forward to hear some suggestions. Cheers!
