Thats ARRI Alexa levels of rolling shutter and approaching ARRI Alexa levels of dynamic range as well.
Seems to me, based off Gerald's hands on with it, that it is perhaps worth the price tag for people that don't want or need a flip screen and wants a hybrid camera that does it all, at least the best one so far.
I wonder how FX9 owners are feeling now?

If you browse the FM forums you can normally find a used A7iii for $1300 and under. I've even seen $1150-ish with low shutter counts.
While I love my Rii the 7iii is the better buy. The battery life alone is well worth it. Unless you need the extra MP having a smaller file size sure is nice on the hard drives.

Truly and without a doubt the best camera demo video I have ever seen.  Sony may have finally figured out that having random YouTubers who call themselves cinematographers shoot demo cat video footage with their flagship cameras wasn't doing them any justice. I hope they do a BTS on the making of this video, I'd love to see how much rigging was needed. I remember the C300III BTS, they used about $200K worth of rigging and a full production team for their demo video and it didn't come close to comparing to this.

Few things to note. They did not blast demo units to YouTube people. This is incredible. For someone that has invested in Sony glass over the years it is great to have a versatile hybrid camera by Sony. I am looking forward to seeing more over the coming months.

I would love to see BM make a new square style camera. I ended up selling my P4K and keeping the micro. 
I love the Siii but the image from that little cube is so good. 

Personal work I am trying to match the look of the BM with the Sony. I really enjoy the look of the micro and the modern tech of the Siii. I love the look of the BM for interviews and would love to get the look on the Siii as well with AF being so damn good. Plus the ability to punch in if needed. 
I do a lot of product YT/IG ads that need the modern look that the Siii does wonderfully. I hope I can make the Siii a work horse like my 7iii and Rii have been for me.

I picked one up. I'll be using the Siii and BMMCC together. My first big job is in a few weeks in Belize. Time to really test the Sony in the real world. 
This year I'll be investing in better audio equipment and lighting. 

Am I the only one here who got the A7SIII?
If the A7IV is any good I'll get one of those too.

I'm already set for 2021 and beyond. I traded in my GH5S for an R5. The crop mode in the R5 is a hidden sleeper feature for those that care. Feels like a S35 GH5 w/ amazing AF without anamorphic and a few other bells and whistles. Oversampled 4.8K (in DCI) or 5.1K (in UHD) 4K up-to 60p. I'm more than happy with it. I have had zero issues with overheating after the latest firmware update and with taking the time to turn the camera off when I didn't immediately need it (reposition, brainstorming, etc...). The countdown timer is annoying and anxiety-inducing but I've just learned to ignore it.
My M1 MBP arrived today as well. It cuts and edits footage from R5 wonderfully with no transcoding or proxies and with FULL playback quality in the viewer, even with Rec.709 LUT applied.
I don't think I would have gotten an R5 if it wasn't for the new M1 Macs to be honest and I would still recommend a C70 to anyone that just doesn't want to fuss with the overheating potential.

We just finished our cinematography reel from some of our favourite images that we have filmed over the past years. Some of the images were captured in the magic of the moment and some were staged with lights etc... SEE YA 2020!
 
 

Looking forward to using mine, although I expect it will perform a bit better in FCP. 
Not even took it out the box yet, not had the time! Have to wait til new year. 

I recently received my Mac mini M1 with 16gb. I love it but has its limitations. 
Sony A7Siii - Everything runs perfect until 120. I get a little lag with some 120 clips. I am running the M1 resolve. Grading is easy. Adding grain or NR does drop frames in 100%.
BM - Runs perfect with grades. Less drop frames when adding NR or grain 100%.
I am so happy with the purchase. I shoot more photos and the system burns through any file. The system is almost silent which is helpful. 
Another thing to note is while rendering video I can still use other programs. On my other system I had to wait until the file was completely finished to work on anything else. 

That's a nice combination. The 16gb 1TB is the sweet spot for me as well...

I haven't used a tripod yet. In the video above that was all handheld.

First outing with the camera. handheld with a 24-105. Loved the camera. I need to adjust a couple things but for the most part a near perfect camera for me. It was extremely dark with the forest canopy. I'll try the Sigma 18-35 next.
