Given R6 specs and price point it seems the Z6s is positioned as a useful update.    The Z6 already had IBIS and RAW out, so these new additions look better based on what Canon and I bet Sony will do.
The Z6s needs to have 10bit internal recording across the board also.

I will try and do some research on image quality between the S1, S1H and Z6.  Has anyone found out if they share the same sensor?
I've filmed action oriented talent that AF tracking captured amazingly.   How is AF tracking on the S1?  Is it just focus breathing that's an issue for locked AF?  I had a Panasonic rep demo the S1's AF and while he was telling me it worked perfectly, it failed on the spot.
No I don't have an extra $2K a for a focus puller and rig.  The one thing hybrid cameras have over cine cameras are the size and AF tracking.  
If Panasonic could fix this one issue then I would be sold on them.

We still don't have a really good FF hybrid camera.  The S1H is expensive for a camera that has the same image quality as the S1 and Z6 with unusable AF. 
I would say the Nikon Z6S might be the camera to look out for.  If it comes in with 10bit internal and 4K60p and still keeps internal RAW then it checks all the boxes without having to deal with the cripple hammer.

I totally hate all the negative overheating reviews.  It's a PR nightmare that's Canon should have seen coming.

When even part of the Canikon duolopy has a cheap FF camera (the Nikon Z6s) with 4K 60fps, then Sony had better have it with the new a7Smk3!

They can try to ignore the Panasonic with their S1 & 4K 60fps, but you can't ignore Nikon. You'd hope this also means the Sony a7mk4 will feel the need to have 4K 60fps in it as well.

Likewise the GH5 will no longer be part of a small select group with 4K 60fps, the GH6 should for instance has 4K 120fps. (even if they were to stick with the same sensor for the GH6, the GH5 sensor is capable of it as we've seen with the Z Cam E2-M4 and 4K 160fps!)

I'm not here to put down anyone or defend my opinion.  
I'll post my work in due time.   I went to art college and work the same way as others on the EOS  in various fields of photography, videography and creative. 
We can all agree the R5 should not or cannot be used for long recording.

I guess that it is impossible to build a camera without one or two flaws (not saying that is the case of the new Canons, they have more than this). And even only with one or two flaws, will be people calling the camera "completely unusable".

If Panasonic release a GH6 with 4k120 no crop 4:4:4 12 bit ProRes RAW, clean ISO 12800, Ibis with 15 stops, S35 sensor and $2000 price, someone will shout "but it is not full frame, it's crap" or "I need 4k240 ALL-I, it's crap".

Best (at least in my point of view) is to wait for the real world reviews, with real people using it for real jobs, which know what they are doing. Now it is only paper specs talk and sponsored reviews.

I never said stop the interview mid flow.
I said shoot with two cameras.   Lots of references for highly produced interviews shot with two cameras.  This keep the viewer interested in cutting to a different view during that 1-2 hour interview and I would hope you have great b-roll to work with also.  I might be wrong but I would think a 1 - 2 hour interview locked down, not cuts, would come out as a very dull interview.  
I perfectly understand that the R5 might not be for you. 
What do you shoot with now?  If money was no issue what camera would you use?
 

Nikon 16-35 on Nikon Z6

Good discussion everyone.
Nikon and the Z6 got hammered with bad reviews, fair reviews and spec diving that they couldn't recover from.   The Z6 even got hurt by "the A7SIII is gonna....." and this was 2 years ago.
I like what the S1 can do spec wise but bad AF tracking cripples it.  It looks like the same sensor as Z6 and is priced more. 
It all comes down to who you want to invest in. 
 

So yeah, another example of cutting and pasting, pretending it's his own 'inside info'.
Could be complete bullshit for all we know.
PS - on a lighter note, the GFX 100 with f/w 2.0 and 50mm F3.5 is reducing my will to buy the EOS R5 by a factor of a lot. Perfect AF, enormous epic look, and Fuji's colour science in 10bit is just... Cinema on a stick.

Nah they were paid to do a release video to show when the cameras were released. (At the time I found it strange that they hired Philip Bloom for it as he is more of a docu style shooter, but he pulled it off nicely)
