  1. Hello everyone,

Looking for advice from people experienced in 3D scanning and photogrammetry. I'm engaged in 3D modeling of
historical miniatures and 3d printing of small figurines about a year or so. For 3d scanning I usually use
low-budget 3d sensors (tried Kinect, Intel RealSense and Asus Xtion), also used different software to
improve the quality of the obtained 3d models (Skanect, Artec Studio and Faro software). The results
are satisfying, but I want to get the best possible quality and accuracy. I've heard that by means of
photogrammetry and of a budget camera you can get better results than using cheap 3D sensors. Is that
so? Which cameras and software are best for this?

    Best regards.

Well, I haven't posted on EOSHD for ages, but when I saw this competition I thought that sounds fun. I dropped by on Bexhill-on-Sea on the South Coast yesterday on my way to somewhere else, and shot this footage over an hour or two.  No grading, straight out of camera. Manual settings (although fairly limited choice that's all I'll say). Edited on my laptop this evening. I bought the used camera on ebay for £133. I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing you're looking for Andrew.  As long as I don't come last.

    Totally worth it!
