I'm bewildered by someone playing devil's advocate for a camera that can overheat in photo mode.
No, not every camera is made for me, but I'd still like to see that the camera, ya know, works as advertised.

Nonsense... you don't even read my posts or you wouldn't put me in the same line of any fanboys to praise whatever brand you dislike. How can you comment them then, humm?? : D I am a regular poster on EOSHD since the early beginning, for almost a decade now. What about you? Since last month of July...??
    :- D
It's absolutely laughable you infer I am here ignoring this issue or praising them when their commitment clearly doesn't match mine! WOW
It's not difficult to follow the position or experience of someone but for that, you need to read them first.
    ; )
Last but not least, how old are you? Or you'll omit my question as much as when you mentioned engineer skills as the quality to be entitled to trust Tilta products and I asked about yours? No pun intended.
And you're still lacking any answer to add up there... ; ))
Nonetheless, maybe you know more on basic laws of thermal dynamics than them from Tilta? ;- ]

Something completely disgusting is trading places to distort the facts or take the world B&W, bashing people or brands at the distance of a keyboard hidden behind a mouse and an anonymous alias and yet, pretending to believe only one side can offer criticism when it is much easier to see it from eventual adopters/buyers rather than naysayers.
Not you, for sure. But it was not me either to call for credentials or bringing academic degrees to the equation.
Even before they had released it?!
What the hell a solid accessories supplier such as Tilta would think about all that?
Or their customers? Or do I risk to be insulted and the usual mantra to call me their fanboy? LOL
The same follows for the Canon patent. Welcome that tip on the HEPA filter. That's an example of constructive criticism. Let's not confound the fair criticism all of us are entitled to (especially Canon customers, oh yes) with haters.
We are what we do, words mean too little. This applies to everyone, not this or that user per se.

Filmmakers are used to positively search for solutions, not problems. That's also what basically tells about their experience in less or greater degree.

Funny how this issue gets so much attention, but literally nobody complains about Canon charging 10% higher netto prices in the EUR/GBP zone compared to Yen/US$. They started that with the 5D 4.
THAT is what kept me from buying the R5.
Third party lens manufacturers like Sigma or Tamron actually have lower netto prices for many lenses here, it cannot be a general thing.

I happily rig my Pocket cameras....  they're used mostly on monopods and tripods anyway.
I'd be interested to see how handheld work with the R5 is restricted by the Tilta accessories; many will want to use it for Photo and Video at the sametime.  Or even how effective the cooling is to handle the overheating issue.  Its all speculation at this point.

Yes, M4/3 is no doubt as capable as any other camera format in DoF terms.

    In fact.

Both Upstream Color and Jaws stand. What's exactly the point?
We should all know DOF doesn't exclusively depend on sensor size.
Add faster glass (MFT format is actually much more affordable, a way lighter and a bunch of versatile options wait for you) and you'll stay in.

Well this topic went sideways... I thought it was about Olympus and their imminent demise?
The problem which exists on a lot of forums etc always seems to come from 'hidden' members who all seem to share the same traits:
    Weird profile name.
    No avatar.
    No profile info.
No links to any work, website, social media.
    Nothing.
Folks like you, I don't take seriously.
In fact I don't place any merit on anything you say because you could be a school child in your mothers basement, - there is no way of knowing.
What is it this type of folks have to hide except perhaps everything?
So go spit your dummies out by all means but you are only kidding yourselves if you think you have any credibility on-line.
PS: MrSMW = my actual real world name abbreviated.

No matter how you look at it the more you diffuse the more light you are going to loose.
You could put a filter between two acrylic sheets, LEE 251 for example. But it's somewhat directional and have some bleed through but not much. Maybe two sheets separated by a space would give you decent diffuse with decent light transmission and only loose maybe a stop.
Diffuse silicon put on acrylic could work but again, you are going to loose decent amount of like.

The more even your light source is the less diffusion is needed to make it smooth. If you can find an older LCD TV that had back lit CFL, those had pretty good diffusion. Or if you can edge light a newer TV that would be pretty even too.

Indeed, very likely to happen, it's the last generation to gather their attention for sure : ) As far as my own experience with business practices and manufacturers building personal relationships directly with their camera staff and PR contacts before firmware updates were even used in this industry yet (I'd say earlier mid-90s since 1992 or so : -)

I don't think that any X-series cameras with last gen hardware will get big firmware updates. The GFX 50 cameras are getting love, as they are much more expansive, but I think that only X-cameras with X processor 4 are getting big firmware updates

Back then though you went into it knowing that there was a business relationship between the press and companies, and also that most of those journalists went to journalism school and practiced standard journalism ethics.
As things moved to the internet, there was an influx of blogs much like this one, where you could get honest opinions. YouTube/Vimeo/etc too. The people writing and creating content were just like us, and you went into it knowing that. Now we're where we are today, where the dynamic has changed. And once neutral parties that you trusted can overnight turn into shills. It's incredibly frustrating and damaging.

Before watching this, I was quite sceptical about the lens. A lot of fuss, IndieGoGo, many popular YouTubers involved, etc. I don't really appreciate campaigns like this.
But @Tito Ferradans managed to convert me. ( :
    Great job!

I disagree.  It might be that the defects are a common reason that people shoot anamorphic, but it's not everyone.
Here's a video that includes the Zeiss / ARRI Master Anamorphic and it renders an image almost as technically perfect wide open at T1.9 as other cine lenses at T4.
I suspect that shooting anamorphic because you want the flaws is a low budget thing (and because at low budget you can't get sharp well-behaved optics so there's no choice).
It's like saying that people only shoot FF to have shallow DoF.  Or MFT because they want a small camera.
You might make the point that Hollywood cinematographers often like vintage glass because of the softness and rendering, which is true, but there's also a large segment of Hollywood that have the attitude of capturing things in the highest quality possible (meaning highest resolution and most neutral rendering) so that they can push the image around in post later on.  It's not a POV you hear a lot, but lots of big movies are shot with this principle.
