If  you can find one talented persons work, which you like, then i would suggest in the background,, is a lot of blood, sweat and tears over a number of years to get to that look.
Canons do have nice colour. A lot of people like canon colours, then there are others who like sony, and the other brands. My point being is personally, i don't think you can go wrong with any of the latest makes of camera.  Its more about the finessing that you need to apply after the image / footage is taken to get a result you like.
Lots of people out there are happy to throw on a lut and call it a day.  If your not happy with colours sooc Then you, my friend have definitely fallen down a rabbits warren.
There is no one perfect camera that does everything spectacularly.  If there was then there would only be one camera brand. You do your research  and pick the camera that does most of what you need it to do and then compromise in other areas.
I would suggest before you throw any money around get the free version of resolve.
With resolve and some free luts and whatever log files, canon has on your camera. Start exploring, learn resolve and throw all sorts of footage at it from your camera while your learning. exhaust every option you can pursue in finding a look you like before spending too much money.  It will be time well spent and helps to define the look your after.
There is a chance your look may even come back to a lens choice or filter perhaps.
There's a bit of a learning curve to resolve, but that can be said of everything.  There are truckloads of tutorials available on  youtube for resolve. There are probably more than a few ways to skin a cat in resolve ( metaphorically speaking of course ). Like kye said there are basic steps to follow.
Once your comfortable you can probably tailor your workflow to suit your look for a minimum of effort. However you first need to expend some effort to realize the look your after.

I think OP needs to understand that to achieve those looks it's a lot more work than just what camera model is being used.
Everything is actually broken down in that video: C70 shooting Clog2, 28-70F2, Aputure lights. Graded in Resolve (5 node tree).
The C70 itself has a DGO sensor that gives you extra DR and clean shadows. R6 in contrast has pretty poor DR.
Clog2 is also the most flat profile, most ideal for grading. R6 has Clog3 which is pretty close.
    The 28-70F2 is a jewel of a lens ($3,500).
Lighting can go long ways, ND filters etc and finally the grading process which they say can take from 5 hours to 2 weeks depending on the project.
So yeah that's quite a bit of gear, work and skill to get there. Getting great cinematic image quality is a lot more than just having good color science or the right camera body. Every step of the way counts and you will certainly not achieve that look SOOC.
I love the R6 and you can get close to that look with the right tools (lens, lighting, grading) shooting Clog3. But you're definitely going to have to learn a few things. There is no magic "cinematic" mode like on iPhone13.

Edited shot from the Xperia Pro-1.  I think it holds up pretty well for a phone. Sure it is not a Canon 1DC but it sure as hell weighs a lot less I can tell you that.

leslie reacted to Andrew Reid in Andrew... you went with a RED?!
Decided to get a proper RAW cine camera. It was between RED and Blackmagic. The RED seems to have more mojo, especially the older EPIC and Scarlet. I am also trying a RAVEN out.
The older REDs are not expensive now. Paid £1790 for an EPIC-X, with 5K 120fps RAW.
But when building it out, that's when the costs start rising.
But for under $3500 you can definitely get a good kit.
It's about the dynamic range and RED raw for me. The colour science is also very nice.

Bit of an update, the glue i used on my modified letus has let go. next thing to do will be clean it up and i'm thinking of throwing it under the mill again shave a bit more depth of the back of it as there's quite a vignette with the anamorphic attached to the gopro 9.
Its not so bad if i use linear or narrow field of view however its cuts into the photo quite severely on wide or  superwide

I  think i'll take a few photos, now and after for posterity.
I do have a canadian maple which has coloured up nicely this autumn. Camera of choice was the iphone 13 pro. Jpg straight from camera with a tiny amount of tweaking. Not bad for a phone.

Yer the lack of an articulating screen is a real bummer, my canon 60d from 10 years or more  ago has one....
Times are tough no doubt about that, i'd hate to be a business owner or company right now regardless of the type of work.
Smart phones are wonders of technology, in comparison i feel cameras / video cameras are lagging or dragging the chain perhaps. No one company wants to put a camera together  with all the bells and whistles. Not saying i want a calculator on my bmp4k but you know what i mean.
Magic lantern did amazing things for my canon, you'd expect canon and magic lantern to jump into bed with each other and sell zillions of cameras, yet its the opposite, touch our cameras and we'll sue your pants off. After the timer incident on canons later cameras, and the way they segment the camera market, well i don't have much love for canon anymore.
I do like my p4k, i cant imagine how they could make a cinema camera much easier to use ( apart from a flippy screen )  All i can suggest is you do your research, if camera b has a few extra points in your favour buy that. Your the one using it.

my mate did something very similar except of the gold coast seaway. He's braver than me.  We both had our drones out getting some footage of the sun setting one afternoon.
He sent it a long way out in a tailwind to catch some surfers, then realized coming back in was a lot slower and we were watching the battery level dropping  and then the beeping started, was a close thing soon as he had it over the beach he dropped it onto the sand. Never seen him sweat before. lol

You mean like the time I sent my old one out across a bay to film a lighthouse and coming back there was a headwind and even in sport mode it was barely moving? 😜
I was stood on the clifftop wall of a sea fort arm outstretched to try and catch it because the app had been beeping like crazy for minutes and was showing 1%.
The updraught from the cliff was also pushing it up along with the headwind pushing it away.
Caught it and it died literally 5 seconds later.
But for those 5 seconds, it would have been on the rocks in a gazillion pieces 100 ft below.
I immediately stepped off the wall, sat against it and said "fuck" about 100 times until my breathing calmed down.
It wasn't the drone I was bothered about, - that's insured. It was the material I had captured for the wedding I was at.

hmm, got cut off not sure what happened there.
Anyway it may not be immediately obvious, however i have chosen to go with an orange, teal look.

I know its a bold look. Not sure its something everyone will be rushing out to try. However i'm liking it so far.  i'm using a 50 / 50 mix of linseed oil and turps  with a bit of orange oil paint mixed in for a bit of colour. Its had two coats now.
its a flat look there's not much sheen or gloss to it. I would have liked a bit of a shine. No idea if theres any options to get a shine on it, maybe bees wax perhaps, i'll have to google it. if i cant get a shine i'll just live with how it is.
Have  to clamp it down  after it dries a bit as theres a lot of rain about and the top is warping. Hopefully i can keep it flat enough till the table base is welded up.
I have plans of adding a 3/4 frame to the back and sides. That will be stage two, that's where the teal colour should make an appearance. There's some slots and usb flush mount bits to be added and i have seen some other utubes with some desireable features i'd like to  copy / incorporate.

    Happy pre birthday wishes then...
Even in 9 to 5 jobs there are those that are married to it.
Whether your a boss, employee or self employed i think contentment or a balance is the key.
I liked my last job, then covid hit and i probably did two weeks work in two years. In that time my dad got ill, became pretty frail has alzeimhers. So now the government pays me a pension to take care of my father which includes showering and wiping his ass once a day.
Let me just say any job where you dont have to wipe someone's ass is a good job lol.
I only do it as he's looked after me his whole life, now its time i repaid the favour. Still i feel blessed, fortunate, lucky, i own my property, i live in a country with a pretty good health care system and there are no doubt people much worse off than me.

home and away might have been a poor choice, as you say. I would expect  a level of difference between youtube and produced stuff. However if  youtube stuff was up there with the travel guides then they'd probably get snapped up for a job  pretty quickly i'd imagine.
I might be showing my age abit here, but not sure everything that has a beat can be qualified as music.   although i do think yt offers people more options off getting noticed, rather going begging at the doors of record companies.

I suspect each of us are set in our ways and i think most of the issue, is what we are used too. I think your coming from a television background ?  I don't think either of us is wrong just different aspects of usage i guess.
My first digital camera was the nikon 950. Which was one of those cameras that could almost have the lens side of things twist 300 degrees of so. Maybe i exaggerate but only a little. It was great for holding above the crowd to get a picture. Then came the canon 60d which had a screen that flips out to the side and rotates. Even my newish Olympus em-10 has a tilting screen but thats all it does.
Since i have hernia and a back thats easy to irritate, tilting or flippy screens are the best inventions,  since sliced bread came along. Its a lot easier to take a photo of a flower down low with a flippy screen than it is to get down on my hands and knees, but maybe thats just me. Could be i'm just lazy as well 🙄
Still i think manufactures could sit down and take a good hard look at how their cameras are used and maybe, just maybe consider who is using them and how they could make that usage easier for everyone.

I think we over think a lot of this stuff. I follow a lot of people on YouTube and most of them, well all of them are just regular people, mostly with a GoPro and a Drone and since it is them and their content I overlook a lot of editing because the content is so interesting. And surprisingly their editing isn't that bad. The more you do the better you get.
I don't think if it were shot on an Arri it would be much better. Not when you are knocking out videos every day or so. I just look forward to new content and consider some almost like family I have following them so long. I am even a Patreon on most of them.
