Screengrab from today’s shoot at Trek with the X-T3. 35mm F2, Acros. If I can share actual video legally, I will. Cyclocross footage competition is simply the best I’ve seen since the first time I shot with the C100 5 or 6 years ago. Auto focus worked really well, not perfect, not canon PDAF, but really really good.

I think I found a better solution for cameras that don't have an audio input. It's compatible with all makes and models.  If you're a preppper or protester it has multiple uses.

@Mattias Burling it’s going to turn into “this camera doesn’t check all of the boxes, but I had an exclusive interview with XYZ manager and he/she said that this great feature is coming in the A7iii Xtra! So buy this camera now cause it’s awesome, and then upgrade to the next one too!!!! You’ll have two great cameras!”

    Thanks @mercer and @webrunner5
Posting your creativity online is always a bit nerve wracking, especially around people that do this stuff for a living!
I've worked out that IBIS is the way forward for me.  I thought fast primes were always big and heavy (I was extrapolating upwards from my Sigma 18-35 F1.8!) but after seeing a bunch of lovely MFT suitable lenses like the Hellios and the Voitlanders I now realise that they're not heavy enough to stabilise the camera the way a Fujinon Cine 18-55 would, and I couldn't carry that weight all day anyway.
And because primes don't have IS, I need IBIS for hand-holding.
I suspect there's a GH5 in my future, but we'll wait and see.  So I picked up a few cheap m42 lenses to try with my GF3 and see how I go (Hellios 44M, Yashica Yashikor 28mm f2.8). Assuming I like them I'll work out if a G85 or GH5 or whatever is the right fit and fill in the gaps, the Voitlander 10.5mm and 17.5mm 0.95 lenses look absolutely stunning!  If Panasonics FF camera is 8K then the price of a used GH5 will plummet and my lens budget will be huge!! ???

This thread and quite a few others have some really bad taste comments in it which lower the tone of the forum, not just a bit but a lot.
And it is almost always you involved @jonpais
I will have to decide Jon whether you are still welcome or whether it would be better for the community if you used a different place.
You have no idea how tired I am of it.
    Final warning.

It's been noticed in the back-end of the site that some new users are joining in order to future the agendas of PR and marketing at some companies.
It's a tricky area for me to deal with, but I'll get some advice on how to better detect it and prevent it from happening in the future.
Whilst I know it is happening, the evidence as to what exact company is responsible for which posts isn't solid enough yet to go naming them.
But rest assured if I do find out, they will be named and shamed on the front page of EOSHD.

    Two things.
    1) I think I figured it out, the exposure shift at higher ISO can be caused by two things. Peripherial light correct and dynamic range priority. With auto iso on and peripherial light correction on when the camera goes to 8000 iso there is a quick exposure bump that is not smooth. With this setting turned off, it didn’t happen in my little test. You can see this in the viewfinder and EVF as it happens.
Dynamic range priority messes with exposure a lot, even if you have an iso value set. It pulls and pushes shadows and highlights regardless. I tried it in auto, strong and weak. I wouldn’t recommend using this setting if you’re in anything but continuous controlled lighting. Really, only use it for photos.
    2) @Attila Bakos I’ve tried samsung 128gb uhs II cards, Sandisk 128gb cards and Sony 64gb cards that are on the approved list. I haven’t seen a difference in video mode at the highest data and quality settings. If I were shooting something I couldn’t redo on a paid shoot I would stick to the Sony cards for peace of mind but for everything else, just make sure it’s UHS II. For the sports preshot mode in photo, all cards worked but I noticed the buffer cleared significantly faster with the Sony cards. Couldn’t produce a lock up with any of the cards when I tried.
As an aside, the 18-135 did produce something funky the last time I used it. The EVF and LCD would slow way down and the shutter speed dial wouldn’t change. It didn’t stop until I took off the lens and put another one on. I was able to make it happen again by looking through the EVF and then taking my eye away and putting it back quickly. Only happened with my copy of the 18-135mm, no other lenses. I finally got through to Fujifilm USA technical services this morning on the phone and they are going to take a look at my copy of the lens. Hopefully it’s just a problem with my copy and not a widespread issue.

Does anyone really think a Fujifilm sales ambassador is going to know where the sensor comes from, let alone tell everyone?!
Remember that companies deny things all the time.
Samsung denied they were leaving the camera market ?

If you dont need IBIS or the extra stop or so in stills on the Sony .. i don't think you'll miss it much.... i was genuinly happy to sell my A7s. Videowise, i think xt3 in eterna will actually better the blackmagic in everyway other than the extreme grading options of raw.

You’re misreading what I wrote. I expressed the opinion that I see a sentiment that Olympus is somehow doomed because they haven’t launched a 135 system. I see the notion that all one needs is an A7 or a Z6 because if you put a small lens on it’s a small camera.
It surprises me that you haven’t noticed this in comments sections everywhere. It’s true it’s less of a problem here since this is a video-centric forum where sensor size is discussed differently. I have no idea why you took it personally or even why you think I was talking about this forum?
135 is clearly a trend in 2018. I didn’t claim 135 as such would disappear, merely the sentiment that it is the end all format will change. That was my main point.
Besides, I don’t understand what reasons you have for your fucked up attitude, that I witness again and again on this forum, but I hope your day gets better and that you find a more constructive place to deal with your frustrations.

    Sorry sorry sorry sorry
In my last post I missed a key bit of information.
The 27mm pancake lens continuous auto focus is improved but still not good enough for video.
The other lenses I tried in my quick hour with camera yesterday and this morning (35mm, 18-55, 18-135 and 55-200) are all improved from the X-T2 and X-H1 and have pretty smooth transitions without changing any of the sensitivity settings.
Sorry for the confusion. @Brian Williams is absolutely correct I was only referring to the 27mm pancake lens
On another note I shot some footage in 24p 4k and 120p this morning of some ducks on a lake at sunrise with the 18-55.  The 120p looks very nice. Here is a quick snap from VLC player, hopefully it does it justice.

A top display is pretty much a must for most pro photographers. One can live without it but its a pita.
But on the Fuji X-T3 I dont agree that its such a big deal that the camera becomes irrelevant. Thats sounds like quite an exaggeration imo. Because with Fujis manual controls you can still see and adjust the settings without it.

SPEEDMASTER F0.95 is a sharpness monster wide open. It's Leica-rivalling.

And yes that crop is a 1:1 crop of the 4K image, ISO 1600.
Classic Chrome, noise reduction not needed.
    Who needs 8K?!

Compared to the GH5 it’s maybe 5% to 10% better, really just a little smoother.
Compared to the 85’s it’s about 25% better with vintage lenses from my limited testing. Way less jumpy and it looks more like you have a crappy gimbal vs having a non-fluid tripod head like on the GX85. I haven’t used the G85 very much, but it’s IBIS was similar (very good) to the GX85.
The additional advantages like the EVF and Olympus colors make it an easy winner over the GX85s poor EVF and overall lackluster colors and charm.
It’s a frustratingly nice camera. If Olympus could add some firmware updates, it could be a THE pocketable video camera to use with compact and vintage lenses.
