Did you buy a new camera, Danilo? What about your aSIII?

After various test made with A7SIII, I was not satisfied so I traded in to buy XF605, very similar to my old camera HPX170, more comfortable. Changing lens to have 3x zoom or similar, and the risk of dust into the sensor of A7SIII, make me think is not well designed for my generic use.

  2. Hello everyone, my friend Nando Morra (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3937151/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1), Italian director, and actor, based in Naples. President of the RAMPA FILM has started a crowdfunding in Italy, his previous work "The seed of hope" won various prizes in Italy and around the world.(https://filmfreeway.com/ilsemedellasperanza) I'll provide here the synopsis of the next short movie in English language, the story is located in Naples (Italy). If someone wants partecipate at the crowdfunding please follow this link (Italian language) : https://www.produzionidalbasso.com/p...oltre-il-muro/ with PayPal. He's trying to reach the right amount of money. If someone is interested just read the synopsis and donate something, would be great, also little money could help to reach the budget necessary to shoot the film. Thanks! Now have a nice reading of the story:

Short movie - "Beyond the wall" - Synopsis.
SOFIA (15), lives in a low part of the historic center of Naples, loves to read and stands out in the study. Her mother, IMMA (35), is married at a very young age with BRUNO (45), because she is waiting for her girlfriend; a shotgun wedding that swept away her ambition for a degree. She is totally dedicated to family and home, she nurtures a passion for sewing which, for family needs, she has turned into work, done at home. Bruno, known superficially in the short period of engagement, after the wedding proved, from the earliest times, irresponsible and unable to keep a job for more than a few months; later he approaches alcohol and gambling, in particular slot machines, venting his frustrations towards his wife and showing him the worst aspect of him: that of an overbearing and violent person. Man considers studying a useless waste of time. In the past he has imposed this thought on his wife, and is about to do the same with his daughter, to whom he has procured a job as a saleswoman, with the expectation that she will drop out of school. Sofia, confesses to her best friend, NUNZIA (15), that, albeit with regret, she will accept the paternal decision, given that money is scarce at home, and economic responsibilities all weigh on the shoulders of her mother, for whom she also fears , physical repercussions on the part of the father, should he become his accomplice in opposing that choice. Nunzia tries to dissuade her, but when she realizes that she has no effect on her friend's decision, she decides to take from her library a book written by Malala, the Pakistani girl who fought for the affirmation of civil rights and for the right to education, in the hope that that reading will change her mind. The low in front of Sofia's is inhabited by DONNA NANNINA (70) and her son TONINO (40). The elderly woman spends most of the day sitting at the window, observing with feigned indifference what is happening outside her, with particular attention to the bass in front of her. She is the widow of a violent man, whom she has never opposed, not even on the occasion of the various physical and psychological abuse of Tonino, when in puberty she showed the first signs of homosexuality. The boy, tried by a difficult adolescence, unable to establish himself socially, after the death of his father, which occurred when he was just over twenty years old, takes the path of prostitution.

The short distance that separates Tonino's bass from Bruno's is insufficient to avoid making him participate in what happens inside those walls. The arrogance of the neighbor brings back the one suffered by the father, and it is the mother who dissuades him from the temptation to intervene in defense of Imma. Sofia returns home and immerses herself in reading the book that was given to her by Nunzia, Imma is intent on tailoring works; the father returns home, tipsy and nervous for having lost the umpteenth time at the slot machines. He notices her daughter reading about her and takes her frustration out on her, snatching the book from her hand in an attempt to break it. The girl resisted him, under the terrified gaze of her mother, immobilized by her, increasing the anger of the man who gave her a violent slap and threw the book out the window, falling at Tonino's feet, as soon as he left the house . Sofia, angry at the slap and the passivity of her mother, runs away by slamming the door, forgetting her mobile phone on the table. Tonino, in contravention of his mother's suggestion not to interfere, takes the book back to Imma; the woman, still shaken by what happened, lets herself fall on the sofa and begins to leaf through it, waiting for her daughter to return. The first page of the book bears the signature “Nunzia Palmieri”. She reads and occasionally throws a glance at the wall clock and at the entrance door, hoping to see the girl come back. Several hours pass and several pages read. Bruno comes home drunk and throws himself heavily on the bed. Imma, exhausted, falls asleep on the sofa with the book in her hands. Awakened by the first rays of morning light, she instinctively turns her gaze to her daughter's cot and, seeing it intact, she catapults into the street in search of her. Frightened and disoriented, she meets Tonino who is returning from a night spent on the street. The man, noticing the panic on the woman's face, approaches her to understand her reasons. Imma, taken by a sense of bewilderment, accepts the man's comfort and tells him why she is. Tonino tells her that, the night before her daughter ran out of the house, he saw her enter the building just ahead of her and that she could still be there, offering to accompany her. Imma, remember that a friend of hers lives in that house, she accepts Tonino's company. Arriving at the intercom, Imma does not know which name to choose, she takes a look at the various surnames and “Palmieri” jumps to her eyes, the same as the signature on Malala's book. Someone knocks the door."

Downloadable clips and probably the most excited review you'll ever see. I don't speak Italian, but they're shouting the whole time, its great.

I do speak Italian, the review is hilarious but a little confusing, not very professional.

    Maybe your problem, Danilo?

    Saluti per tutti : -)

Yes, Emanuel. I've tried both Resolve and Premiere on my iMac Pro and simple R5 RAW files don't work. The problem is for everyone, I'm not interested to transcoding the files, my only hope is Sony A7Siii, after investing almost 15.000 euros in a workstation 2 years ago, you just desire that it works for years...

  6. I'm following this problem from the beginning of the introduction of the new Canon cameras. Overheating on R5/R6 is a serious problem as I've always supposed, we are receiving too many reports from the professionals. I'm sure that professional people will not use them to capture video as Canon claims, I suppose the only solution is the A7Siii, I will consider Sony if it doesn't overheat for one hour of continuous shooting, if S1H had a good autofocus it would be no brainer to choice over Canon, but it's also not lightweight camera. After comparing all the cameras on the paper, based only about rumors, Sony could win for sure. On my iMac Pro it's impossibile to check 8k RAW footage from R5, only via Resolve, dropping frames. It's a workstation that costly me rough 15.000 euros and frankly I will never use proxies with such power. So my advice is waiting for Sony and leaving the idea to consider Canon to shoot professional videos. Next firmware on Canon can't change problems with overheating, maybe 1/2 minutes of better dissipation but forget to use the camera for casual shooting...

    • XLR audio module - this remains to be seen, but so far Canon has not mentioned any plans to release an XLR module for the R5 or R6. This is one of my favorite GH5 features, all of my audio gear uses XLR connectors and for run and gun situations I'll use the GH5 for the whole project including high quality audio capture.

I will suggest you to wait A7SIII, that has a XLR module like GH5 and S1H.
