The NFS tests are very interesting, especially Test #2 where 1500 photos were taken before switching the R5 to video mode & they still got over 17 minutes of 10-bit 8K recording.
That particular test seems to kinda contradict Gerald’s tweet about not having a single second of HQ video after shooting stills for an hour.  
Speaking of Gerald, he did a 3 hour live stream about R5/R6. I haven’t had time to watch it but just happened to skim through it and he addressed Dan Watson’s A7S3 vs R5 overheat results. He kinda cops out by saying their pre production Sony units may be different and then suggests to Dan to redo the test with the Sony camera -in the shade- as he admits direct sunlight may not dissipate heat correctly on the Sony.
Perhaps he should be the one to take the A7S3 out in the sunlight to corroborate or not Dans results.

Sony didn't care fixing the temporal noise reduction issues and oversharpening since the A7s2.
So, no break for Sony. This is not a camera made for narrative work. The Sony Videolook and missing DCI4K and missing shutter angles and true 24p made it quite clear.
I honestly expected much more.

Cause with all due respect it isn't a good idea. He mentions wildlife being a use case but for wildlife it would be so much better just using crisp EF glass than vintage s16 lenses. How long does s16 glass even get?
No, I'm sorry; if you have the glass, fine. Otherwise, I don't see why anyone would purchase for this reason. I doubt ONE person will buy s16 glass to use with this camera.

Of course I am being faceitious; I only mentioned Gerald cause he was one that went in hard against the canon and then had nothing to say about the a7siii. Now we are in the same situation we can see how ridiculous these youtube reviews are. 

There is one person on here that is new that has caused nothing but discord, and that person should examine their own behavior before throwing any stones. 
Btw two people have now said that the sony overheated. 

Yes but who is the worse beast: canon who told everyone from day one the camera had bad overheating issues (as documented here on EOSHD) or Sony who said you can record without overheating and are supported by the youtube hype machine?

That overheats too but. Not as bad but still it there. 

Why is Canon being given a harder time about over heating compared to Sony overheating and color issues?  This does not seem fair and not sure why the mob mentality has taken over? 
Nikon got crushed for 1 card slot,  Panasonic for bad AF,  Canon for the cripple hammer but Sony gets a pass for overheating in the sun and bad color science that needs profiles and Resolve to fix?
I need to buy a camera for an up coming Neflix pitch.   I would love to get the S1H and be done with it.  My only concern with the S1H is color depth.

Mine doesn’t, at least not yet. Definitely not after only 20 minutes. The only reports I’ve seen of overheating for the X-T4 are all the different websites quoting the one Northrup video, and who gives a shit what that a-hole has to say?

PetaPixel picked it up. Others agreeing as well. All signs point to recall. Imagine they fix the overheating and suddenly a deluge of a7siii on the market lol. 

C'mon, let's accept it, Canon is still the king/queen, no matter what, just take a look on the tourists cameras... ; -)

Every camera reviewer  has been saying the last eight years is that canon has to change, they can't go on being so conservative with their specs.   And finally they do it and everyone turns on them . Y'all just got what you wanted right? 
 

The real problem is that it doesn't even surpass products that have already been on the market for quite a while. 
The s1h surpasses it in many respects.
For example, a7siii might have the following flaws: crap ergonomics, crap ibis, crap color, no autofocus with external recording, heat management issues in hot weather and associated recording limits, crap weather sealing, less DR, less video shooting modes, less megapixels for photo mode, less detail in 4k, crap preamps (as with a7iii), less reliable, etc.
But its benefits are 4k60p and 120p and autofocus (which most pros don't rely on).  
Its just a bit meh.

Panasonic are the only company that respects its users and is able to engineer a properly working product for professionals. 
Regarding Gerald, what rational working professional would order a c300 mkiii and then cancel that order and get a a7siii a week later (knowing that when he bought the c300 mkiii the a7siii was coming in the not too distant future). This is someone I should take my advice from lol?

I wanna be there when his three A7S3s brick out on assignment in the field. But oh wait, that’s not his concern, he’s not a filmmaker, he’s a YouTube lab tester. Never leaves his temp controlled studio.
Basically the vidéo gear equivalent of Unbox Therapy. Good, we need people like them testing gear. But take their clickbait catch phrases with a grain of salt.

By the way, I’m saying all this as a Sony user interested in the A7S3.
I won’t however give it a free pass in the overheat department, nor will I let Gerald off the hook for not taking his review unit outside and tweeting folks to ignore other people’s  overheat testings.
