Ive had a couple of cameras with vents. The BMCC, BMPC4K, D16, Red-1 and XC-10.
None of them have given me any issues with it. The BMCC and BMPC4K also had the vents close to the tripod plate but it was fine (btw, I still suspect this is a BMCCii thats been renamed).
No one can guarantee that it will work just as good on this camera, but I wouldn't worry about it if the camera ticks your other boxes.

Hey, finally done with the trailer to our debut feature film at 55Media shot almost entirely on the Panasonic GH5 (some shots on the GoPro6 and P4P) in just 12 days.
Our best work yet. Movie is still going through post-production.

Dealing with the usual quirks of this camera, but results are still great.

Yes, indeed living in a PAL-country.
It is just that the combo 400Mbps, 4:2:2 10-bit ALL-Intra (very appealing as a codec) and 25p in [C4K] 4096x2160 isn't available on the GH5s, even though I think it could be possible.
It should be included in a next firmware update.

I really hope someone at Panasonic reads this.
If they can do [C4K] 4096x2160, 59.94p, 150Mbps (4:2:0 8-bit LongGOP) and [C4K] 4096x2160, 24.00p, 400Mbps (4:2:2 10-bit ALL-Intra),
would it be possible to do [C4K] 4096x2160, 25.00p, 400Mbps (4:2:2 10-bit ALL-Intra) ?
C'mon, 1 tiny little frame more ...

According to my understanding, Panasonic created VLog L to better work with the GH4/GH5's native 12 stops of dynamic range possible from the sensors. Full VLog is created for the 14 stops of dynamic range possible from their Varicam line. So, adding full VLog to the Lumix cameras would not give a better dynamic range as the sensors cannot capture more than 12 stops.
