If Andrew is right Canon Needs to go out of business. Why the hell did they even bring the EOS-R out? Boy they sure are a goofball company as of late. The whole board of directors must all be 90 years old or better. If you have bought a Canon 6D mk II or an EOS-R you have just been screwed if true.

It almost looks like Panasonic is ensuring that once the GH6 is released, professional videographers will finally be able to figure out the advantages of the M43 system over FF. 

The fine gentlemen over at Cinema5D are reporting that 4K60p can only be captured externally. Is this true? Andrew can you confirm? I understand the APS-C crop, but can you record 4k60p internally on the S1?

The Zhiyun-Tech Crane-2 also works very well with the GH5 & GH5s and is inexpensive (*not* the Crane v2). We have used one for hundreds of hours. With the recent firmware updates, it also interfaces with the camera well.
Although, I will say that I prefer the angled back of the Ronin-S and the Moza Air 2, if I were buying new ones. The angled back makes it easier to see the screen on a hybrid. Also, think carefully about your gimbal selection if you eventually plan to purchase a BMPCC4K.

Weebill is a great small gimbal, but it suffers from the same issue most gimbals do - a too small cage.
Couldn't someone finally come out with a light (maybe carbon fiber) version that has a larger cage. I was really close to buying weebill as I like the removable handle with quick release, and the fact it is so compact and adding 1 inch in each direction of the cage wouldn't make it much bigger. Ah....

The GH5 and GH5s typically give less heat and more reliable operation than the Sonys.  There's also longer battery life, less rolling shutter, and more high speed frame rates combined with better data rates and codecs.

I'd take better quality 4K, i.e better dynamic range, 10bit, HDR, compressed RAW codec over 8K any day. 5 years from now I'll take 8K standard. I think people are under estimating the burden of handling 8K video. With media costs where they are at today, 8K is just stupid in a consumer camera. There are a lot of factors that make a particular scene in a video compelling. Resolution is at the bottom. Yes, I'm aware a 480p video is worst than a 1080p, but there is the law of diminishing returns.

1. Audio
1.5 Composition ?
2. Lighting
3. Dynamic Range
4. Bit rate
5. Bit depth
6. Resolution (1080p and up)

Once you understand that this progression is mainly driven by the tech companies constantly trying to find ways to make you keep buying things, then the rationale becomes clearer

I have tested a lot of the popular anamorphics (except Lomo). I sold them all and only kept the most versatile and easy to us Isco pre 36 and 54. I still have the baby Moeller for the most beautiful image and it is also easy to use (you can pull focus with some practice). Regarding Kowas and Elmoscope I think they have to be considered as the best projection lenses and that is how I use them (Elmoscope II). Last but not least: Sharpness is overrated  

Not meaning to open a can of worms - but most iscorama models (at least 36, pre 36 and 54 types) have an actual stretch factor of 1.42x. But to answer the question - no, I’ve not noticed any discenable shift in ratio when setting minimum focus using the proxiscope.

I have just recieved 729S, and so far it looks promising. Also, I purchased BP-U60 plate and BP-30 battery instead of NP.
No LUT support, but I will apply LUT to HDMI out in GH5S so not a big deal.
Need a sunny day to fully test it.

It is preferable to use a preadjusted profile like Cine D when using 8bit. Too much post on 8bit vlog can produce colour artifacts. If using 10bit then whatever you want.

The Feelworld 279s is significantly brighter than my onboard monitor, which is rated at 500 nits. It looks a little green out of the box but has user-configurable RGB sliders and a green-magenta slider so I'll have to tweak a little bit to get the colors spot on.
 

It's to small for my tastes, I prefer a 7 inch model.
 
Unless feelworld releases their rumoured lut supporting monitor soon, I'm probably going to go with an Ikan dh7-v2(has Lut support), now that my wife is back to work after the birth of our son.

That's not to bad considering it's a 7" display and has hdmi and sdi in and out.

For the GH5s the dual native ISO values are 400 and 2500.
Technically you underexposed ISO400 by 1,66 stops. In pitch black. What do you expect?
ISO1600 is clean, because it's overexposed ISO2500.
Oh, try HFR 240 fps with VLOG-L and ISO1250. And dont forget to tell me which trashcan will you use to dump the camera ?
 

Do not use Lexar and Panasonic, they just do not like each other.  Even after the supposed firmware fix I still get the same bad behaviour with Panny + Lexar.

I am in a marked for SmallHD focus. Currently I use Atomos Ninja, but I really need something smaller.
Also, I’ve read some posts about the issue with the delay which put me off, but now i am reassured it should be ok.
One last thing that concerns me is that it doesn’t support 4k60p.
Will I be able to record 4k60p internally and display it on SmallHD Focus at the same time or the HDMI out will be the same as what I record internally to the SD card, 4k60p, and I wouldn’t be able to monitor in such mode?

The whole licence agreement of Panasonic from Leica for the L-series Cameras sounds curiously suspect. Because:
1. Not getting Olympus on-board has a Lot more to do with Olympus not being interested in Full Frame. It wouldn't take Olympus to figure that out after spending half a decade patenting all sorts of Full Frame lenses (I will read the literature again to see if it mentioned mount size or name). 
2. Like Sigma (and others before it showed us), it is mostly quite simple to re-mount between various Full Frame lens mounts (unless obviously the mount size are enormously different). So it obviously didn't have to do with merely different mounts. Unless the Olympus mount had some seriously Path Breaking advantages over the Leica one (which seems unlikely, atleast until we hear more of that or until the 1st quarter of 2019 when Olympus' new enormous sized camera is revealed).
3. The Varicam and the Eva aren't using Full Frame Sensors or proprietary Panasonic mounts, which makes Panasonic cinema line-up the last to the full frame party (Blackmagic's prices are too low to count). Therefore Panasonic's high end cinema division also would be looking for a (non-Propreitory) new mount usable for Full Frame lenses for the Full Frame Varicam sensor (which should hopefully make it well before 2020). This may be a reason why Leica wants to edclusively make the Cinema lenses for Panasonic and Panasonic probably didn't wanna share the mount with Olympus.
The whole M43 collaboration wasn't really a collaboration to begin with with various splattering of lenses and technologies between Panaspnic and Olympus. Also no proper roadmap. In the end Panasonic beat Olympus because Olympus' top end cameras didn't have enough video features to justify their price and Panasonic got the IBIS tech from Olympus, arguably the biggest advantage in Olympus cameras.
