keessie65 reacted to PBR in Iscorama 36 and Iscorama Cinegon films
I already posted this in a proper thread in the "footage" sub-forum. But I want to add it to this collection here as well. My passion project "The Night Knows No Shore" shot with a Canon FD 85mm 1.8 and an Iscorama pre-36.

Just needs a wooden grip like my other Fujis.
Apart from that, camera is looking good... IBIS is fantastic.

Exposure issues
IBIS issues
Anyone would think the X-T4 is completely broken.
I think we need to point the thread in a more positive direction. These are very minor issues. Let's let Fuji know, but let's not dwell on it for page after page. It is a bit uninspired.

keessie65 reacted to Andrew Reid in Fuji X-T4
Here it seems like an editing choice in the video. A purposeful chop / skip.
Until I try this camera myself it is tricky for me to know what other people's shakey hands are doing 😂
IBIS can only do so much.
Fuji has past good form with IBIS. Sony's is really weak, compared to my Fuji X-H1.
Yes I plan to pair it with a Baby Hypergonar!
Works on a Super 35mm frame at 55mm.
I'd like Fuji to add a firmware update for 4:3 shooting, up to 60p. Max res.
Sensor is capable of it.

Perhaps as the Bolex 16/32/1.5x thread, any information and films about this 2x anamorphic lens. First short film #solo

From keeping up with the thread myself, I'd say:
1) IBIS, but this is controversial... some are just saying the testers are being unrealistic
2) overheating? (although like the latest video said which raised this "issue", if you flip out the screen then that releases the heat. But he didn't go into how much longer the camera can go if you flip it out always?)
Remember, the X-T4 is still only pre order, wait until it ships and gets into more hands before judging it!

keessie65 reacted to KnightsFan in NX1 Extended Dynamic Range? New Settings.
Way back when this topic first started, we were just about to start the second season of our experimental/comedy web series, #millcore. I dialed in the RGB settings I liked, created a LUT, and just used that for all shots. The settings I ended up using were: R 1.88, G 1.85, and B 1.95. Now (a few years later...) we are finally showing it publicly, so I can share the trailer.

I think the main problem coming from these videos is that 90% are made from photographers that have limited understanding of video work. They think IBIS is a gimbal replacement or some sort of steady cam. It is not.
If you add to the fact a lot of the footage displaying wobble artefacts are probably using the new EIS feature, well that just adds to the misjudgment of the IBIS.
From the few footage that uses the IBIS correctly, it seems to me that it works really well. Nothing to worry about.
Same thing for AF, even Canons dual pixel AF isn't flawless and won't replace a follow focus.
There is actually technique to maximise a camera's AF sticky rate. Lens choice, lighting can also alter performance.
That's not to say these pre-production cameras don't have issues, but until they ship these videos are just what they are: an early hands-on approach.

keessie65 reacted to mirekti in Minolta Rokkor/Leica Summicron C 40mm as a taking lens
Anyone here using the lens from the title as a taking lens? I have just purchased Minolta SC version, and can't wait to get it as check how it pairs with pre 36.

Just curious how IBIS / IS works with anamorhic lenses. I really need to see the first videos with 1,5x and 2x anamorphic lenses before I am really convinced to upgrade from X-T3 to X-T4. Unfortunatelly no Open Gate at 4K...

I hope it's the same source that told you about 6K 60p and anamorphic modes on X-T4! 😛

If this is all true, I'll probably wait for it. Perhaps not buying X-T4

To reflect reality the site name would have to change every month!

I am pumped for this camera. IBIS + a bigger battery were definitely the two biggest reasons I was holding on to my GH5 as my take anywhere, traveling video production camera. But Fuji strikes the perfect balance of small, compact, lightweight (lenses especially), high-quality, large sensor, great image, great color, good AF, etc etc. Full-frame is great, but lenses do get big and expensive FAST. And MFT suffers from low light performance and not good AF - and the high-end lenses are more expensive than the Fujis.
Not to mention the Fujis are much better photography cameras.
Love the XT3, but the lack of IBIS and dismal battery life always held me back. Looks like both of those are fixed. Can't wait to sang the XT4 as my travel, small production video camera. Hope it gets true 10-bit 422 (rather than 420) and some sort of 4k 120fps burst mode.
