The camera will be cooled with all the water balloon popping action for at least the  first month.
I presume external USB battery pack will mitigate the heat issue a little?
If it doesn't then I'm going to have to buy it a little fan as this is the weather forecast on my local TV most days

I was on the verge of something similar but then @Orangenz sent me an hfr clip of him popping water balloons on his RX100 V and it was all over.
I was simply powerless to resist after that.

If anyone is looking to get one then Jessops include a voucher for 500 free 7x5 prints and a 20x16 canvas if you buy an A7Sii from them.
That's the sort of deal that you'd never get if you bought an Alexa.
Possibly the most Alan Partridge special offer since he was pushing Rawlinson's doing slightly damaged chocolate oranges.

I've been asked by Private Message regarding using the higher ISO's in recording.
Ordinarily, the extended ISOs are for stills only but there is a way round it for G7 owners at least.
On the GX80 it is always clamped at 6400 irrespective, so when you go into video mode it will always revert to this setting if you have an ISO set above that.
On the G7 however, if I instigate the recording with my controller then I can then change it beyond 6400 and it will accept it.
I have a trick with the hardware controller so that when you put it in record it re-sends the currently set ISO so if you have it on 12800 on the controller it will record a tiny fragment at 6400 but then switch to the 12800
If you want to try this manually you can by just putting your G7 in record at 6400 and sending the higher ISO command form a browser.
My feeling is that this will probably work for other cameras too (except the GX80 where it definitely doesn't) so if you can test it and let people know that would be great.

With regard to asking questions by Private Message - and please do not take this the wrong way as I'm really pleased this has sparked so much interest - but can I just ask that people put them in here instead, as to me this should very much be a community project so everyone will benefit from the shared information and there is a much broader range of model variants represented here that people can share the testing on as well.

I'm literally stood in a camera shop in London trying to exercise one of them right now!

Wow man... Panasonic should hire you!
You just unlocked a world of colors for these cameras!
Would be possible to create a color profile to match Andrew's Eoshd C-log for ALL Canon cameras (it's not a real log profile soo..) ?
How cool would be have a Red and a Canon color profiles to easily match cameras?

    Patience, patience
All will be revealed when its finished.
The hardware module part of my system  does the WiFi part and I can interface to that with USB, wireless (as in the controller from the video) and Bluetooth.
As I said in the other thread, I'm collecting a few different controllers (in about an hour actually) and at least one of them will be suitable for what you want. Bear in mind as I said at the start of this thread that the reason that the cinelike d happened was as a byproduct of me researching to make a hardware controller. And specifically one for a gimbal so its all in hand

You are awesome man! So will it work on the device like this?

they are both Bluetooth though. There are tons of similar controllers for 2-5$ everywhere. That would make my gimbal workflow so much better, incredible!
upd: so you already confirmed that it will work on the previous page. Do we need to modify those devices somehow? How do you make them work with a camera via wifi?

There already is a separate thread for it.
It will be updated when I'm back from my trip next week. I'm picking up some different controllers in the meantime so there will be other options.
The smooth focus pull is being tuned but don't expect miracles with those lenses. If you go over to the other thread there is an early demo of just lens control (focus and zoom) on an LX100.
    http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/25104-and-for-my-next-trick-aka-why-i-was-hacking-the-gx80-in-the-first-place/
And another thread regarding a side development for profile tuning but which also shows a different control surface example.

BTM_Pix you are the man! I just watched your video with your wifi controller prototype for Panasonic cameras! That is so awesome!
Would you like to create a separate topic for this? Cos I am eager to contribute, test and discuss. I have a dream of archiving a smooth remote pull focus on Panasonic cameras, using something like this, clipped to my Zhyiun crane as a second handle (btw that thing costs 5$).
Or we could start from making a separate app for a smartphone.

The versatility of the mount is writ large in this thread.
Makes it all the more baffling why Panasonic didn't make it at least an option on their new camera.

    It is indeed.
Its a bit unfair on the GX85 to be honest because, as I suspected might happen with this prodder, there are some presumptions we make over its settings that might not be doing it any favours if all we're doing is correcting them with the exact inverse settings in post. And from the tweaks I was making in FCPX, I think thats exactly the case here as I was putting things in that I'd taken out in the profile so I think it can be done better.
Which obviously I'll be trying to do.
Iphone to Alexa is easy. Just wait about five years !
Obviously once you have it with roughly the same signature as the RED Film it will follow this through when you add FilmConvert etc and pick the RED Film preset.

Amazingly, this video is how I found this thread and this 'hack' (is it a hack?) When looking to buy the GX80 I of course watched a million and one videos about it, from it, with it, through it, around it, and basically anywhere near it. After buying, I stopped searching, but then this came up in my suggested videos the day I got home from a lovely holiday, it was a great 'welcome home' present!

My v5 has neither of those. Is there a v6 out with them?
I don't think there's a better compact and the line has stayed at the top for what, 6 years now? The video colour comes right with the eoshd settings.
For video note that it overheats after 5 min, short battery life, no (or very little) stabilisation. But super camera though. And I mean S UU PP EERRRR

More of a vent than anything and I know Panasonic are just as bad but....
All I wanted was a little travel camera.....
I thought to myself "I quite fancy an RX100 IV. Genuinely pocketable, vloggable, a bit of slo-mo (which I don't really have), slog2 so it can be pushed a bit more.....and I can have a play about to see if I can get my hardware controller to be Sony compatible too"
    Easy.
And then I started the, "Mmmm....the mark V though, better IS, touch screen"
"Yeah but its so much dearer"
    "We're into A6300 territory there"
"But then if we're going there, why not go a bit further and get the A6500"
    "No lenses though"
"Yes but we've got a few Canon ones and they can be mounted cheaply. And with AF too"
"Stop it now, its getting really expensive and way out of what we wanted"
    "OK, RX100 IV then"
"Mind you, the RX10 III does all of that and more and has a 600mm equivalent lens"
"Yes but now we're back in A6500 price range"
"OK, how about the RX10 II, its way cheaper and has NDs"
    "Great idea. Not pocketable though"
    "OK, RX100 IV then"
"You'll regret not getting the V though"
"Shut up, its too much to be paying for a tiny sensor as it is"

I won't know for sure until I've seen the files but for what its worth this is my current stretch rating for this
Still better chance than the bit rate stuff though

It will just be settings rather than a hack (unless you have the GX80 where it will use the current one to get Cinelike on to it)
Needs a lot more testing yet (some of which will have to be automated so there's more code to be written today to do that) so its a bit away from being revealed just yet.

You chose wisely. Of all these Sony cameras that I owned or used (RX100 IV, V, RX10 II, A6300, A7S II), the one that amazes me the most is the RX100 V. The mark IV is nice, but having this awesome AF allows gimbal work or just not caring about being in focus is worth the upgrade. Its low profile/image quality has no match in any other brand, it is a technical marvel. I'm less forgiving of all the sony quirks (battery life, screen diming, weird WB in slog2) with the other cameras, as they are bigger and tend to be use in a professional environment.

I know what you mean though - I have the same dilemmas, in the end Mk IV has stood the test of time and I didn't feel upgraditus coming on... The A6300 and A6500 on the other hand, I regret buying.
