The GX85 delivers video levels (16-235) but does record "illegal" values as well.
That's why it is essential to ensure values are brought within legal range in post otherwise you may actually clip or crush data.

John, after your comment I did some testing with various sharpness levels and I have to come back to my earlier opinion.
I think you are right about the sharpness I am going to settle on -4 from now on.

Obviously if you want the name removed from my posting I have no objection, I am just trying to help not to give you any headaches.  However after some time the owner/administrator of this form no longer allows any updates.  I would contact the administrator and ask him to update my posting, I certainly have no objection to that.
< removed by request >  Unless the artist actually sells the rights < removed by request > merely licenses to sub license the content.  That means the original owner is still the rights holder.
< removed by request > explains here the process and the preferred way of handling it.  Instead of disputing the claim they prefer you take an alternate road:
    < removed by request >
That is not unusual, for instance AdRev has a similar mechanism.
YouTube does not remove footage by themselves, they are instructed by the rights holder if they issue a take down request.  However you have the right to dispute it but at that point it becomes a serious matter.  If you are sure you are correct and the claimant is wrong you should dispute the take down and YouTube must reinstate the video unless the owner sues you within a given time frame.  If they do not your video will be back and your strike will be removed.
I have disputed claims before on historical recordings where Content ID was misidentified but it never came to a point of suing.  The rights holder is required before they issue a take down to have a real person listen and verify if the claim is valid and always the issue was resolved.

Best is a mater of taste.
Check the work from some photographers to get inspiration, people like Alexey Titarenko, Rut Blees Luxemburg and Fan Ho to name a few.

I don't think transcoding to ProRes is going to help but you can always try.
ProRes and H.264 pretty much use the same compression technology, but ProRes does not use inter-frame compression.  It is hard to scrub the timeline with inter-frame compression because the computer has to calculate the current frame starting from a key frame which may not be nearby so transcoding it often helps.  By the way you can encode H.264 without inter-frame compression as well.
Lumetri functions use the CPU and GPU and do not depend on the codec because they are processed after internal decoding.
You could enable 1/2 or 1/4 playback on the program monitor or use lower resolution proxies.

Much more successful than without light!
Play with it, it's a creative process.  Reflectors and/or LEDs (with or without gels) will make it look good.

I think the YoungNuo LEDs are cheap but decent lights:

    Same question here!
Buying a GH4 right now does not make much sense unless you get it really cheap.
In my opinion the quality of the GX85 and G85 already surpassed the quality of the GH4.
I would either wait till late spring/summer for the GH5 or buy a G(X) 85 right now.

Those are fine, LED technology has improved a lot with respect to CRI values.
You need lights (or reflections of light) to have good results, even a million dollar camera looks bad with bad lighting.

Buy (or rent) some nice LED lights or use some reflectors if you have natural light coming through windows and doors and you should be fine!

So how does that work in FCPX, does it reduce contrast linearly to map those values to video levels?  (I am not familiar with FCPX).
I work with Premiere Pro and in Premiere you do have to bring values into legal range (if applicable of course) otherwise you will clip values.

They have been supporting this quite awhile now.
I do not believe they support 4k@60 though!
YouTube does, here is an example of a restored old NTSC source uploaded at 4k@60:

Actually most content is now allowed but monetized by the rights holder (except for Germany).
If you upload a video with copyrighted media, most of the time the rights holders allow (but it is revocable at any time) the content but ads may appear and the channel owner cannot monetize the videos.

    Settings were Natural -1, -1, -4, 0 with iDynamic.
As any filter I believe it should be used in moderation, no filter can make massive improvements without harming other things.  But a stronger DeBlock setting is certainly possible.
-5 on the contrast will not give you a higher dynamic range, it will simply compress the luminance values.
Obviously it was simply a shot demonstrating DeBlock, and in fact you are right I could have made the shot with a higher exposure without clipping.  As you can see from the scope we have enough room for a higher exposure.  And of course values need to be brought into legal range.

I experienced that by using the DeBlock function in VapourSynth the number of macro block artifacts on 4K sources is diminished.

Well think about it, the contrast setting changes the luminance values only, it does not change the actual dynamic range. So what you effectively do is compress the number of possible luminance values.  That information is lost it cannot be uncompressed in post.  Similarly for saturation you compress the UV vector.  So what would be the point?
I really do not see the point in lowering sharpness, I cannot spot any edge enhancement effects on the GX85, -1 seems harmless so I put it on -1 but I do notice resolution loss when sharpness goes down.
With respect to noise I do set it to -3 (and -4 with high ISO).  The noise reduction of the GX85 seems to be dynamic as it really kicks in at higher ISOs and I find this noise reduction unpalatable, to me the results almost looks like a water color painting, I prefer being stuck with a noisier picture.  However noise and the ability to compress effectively is of course a trade off for we only get 100Mb/s.
The GX85 codec does provide illegal highlights so it is very important in post to bring them at legal values first otherwise you run the risk of clipping your highlights.
I like the Natural profile and use iDynamic at the Standard level.
