  1. Still on Ebay listed at 5k for the opening bid.  I know it may sound like bullshit but once you add the redstan rear clamp, follow focus and shipping this big hunk of glass is gonna end up losing money for me at anything below 6k.  Im sure I overpaid originally but I had to get my greedy little paws on it before anyone else swiped it before me.  I wouldn't disagree that if you win mine for 5k on auction you might be overpaying in the grand scheme of things but you are making out better than my impulse buying dumb ass that's for sure.  I would have set the "buy it now" option for 6k instead of 6500 but Ebay wouldn't allow anything less than 6500 for some weird reason.  I guess their policy is that the buy it now price has to be a minimum percentage above the opening bid....first I've heard of this but possibly it's only rule on pricey items perhaps?  anyway that's enough of me apologizing for trying to break even on this fat anamorphic bastardo.  It's got around 5-ish days left so if you are in the market check it out.

  2. I posted twice by mistake I guess....my bad.  Just meant to put it on both the gear for sale forum and anamorphic forum so it would be seen by people who only check one of them and must have somehow posted it twice in row on one of the forums.  I see that this "three times" thing is really disturbing you and I appologize.  Just a mistake on my part and not part of any sinister scheme as implied.

Not that it matters but I've never actually sold any gear in recent memory for any profit whatsoever...I usually list it for the same price I paid originally or less just to sell it faster.  I usually end up buying too much stuff and need to free up cash or find a better version so I sell my original lens to not have redundancy.

I just recently got into this anamorphic adapter thing as my little side project/hobby and am not trying to reap huge profits off of selling a lens here and there every few weeks or so.  If I was trying to do that I'd imagine there are more efficient ways to do so.  I have a camera rental and grip/electric company here in LA and make most of my money through that side of things and certainly don't need to flip these little adapters to pay the bills.  Honestly I've just been buying some of these old lenses and toying with them after work and it's now become one of my hobbies.  Thought it would be nice to let people in this forum know I'm selling an Isco54 as it's super hard to find and if they want to buy it before I put it on eBay they can contact me.

Definitely sorry to be obnoxious in my posts.  I guess that my wording was sounding a little annoying and bragadocious...didn't intend to sound like a dick but I'm sure that's what I did.  Anyone who's ever bought something from me will surely attest that it's fairly priced and of top quality.  I don't need to make a profit off of this stuff because there's not enough of a profit to be made to justify spending my time on it.  I don't expect you to believe that since $1000 appears to you as "massive money".  Ooops, there I go sounding like a dick again. ;)

  3. I've just bought a mint condition iscorama 54 and therefore I'm thinking of selling my old Iscorama 54 MC lens since I likely don't need 2.  The lens I'm considering selling is in excellent condition.  It's a real beauty but somehow I was lucky enough to find a sparkling mint condition 54.  I got lucky.  You know this lens...it's hard as hell to find and it's even harder to find in top form.

I haven't put up an eBay auction yet.  I'm probably going to list the opening bid at $6000.00 (comes with redstan Clamp and form fitted follow focus gear).   Yes, that's a lot of money.  Yes, that's what I paid for it last year.  Yes, it's totally worth it.  It's a god damn gem of anamorphic perfection.  All the other dual focus projector lenses are little kiddie toys in comparison.  If you have a pre-36 and a 54 you simply don't need anything else (well, you need a baby Hypergonar and hardcore dna variable diopter as well but let's not muddy the waters).

Who's interested?  If you make me a legit serious offer I might be pursuaded to sell direct instead of on an eBay auction.  Throwing it out to you guys first since this is where the real loonies like myself hang

Let me know.  I'll try to post pics soon but I'm not bullshitting you   It's a great specimen and if you've been looking for years...you've found it finally

  5. you definitely need the redstan clamp/sleeve but compared to all my iscoramas and kowas and yadda yaddas I think the baby hyper blows them all away in terms of character, sharpness, contrast, and killer crisp flares.  To each his own though of course....focus is what always kills you with these pretend-lenses which is why I tend to use the baby Isco and similar often when just run n gunning.

  6. Hey there.  I have a kowa bell and Howell built out with redstan clamps and a helios 44 taking lens (m42 mount).  It's in excellent condition and I was planning on selling it later in the month but if you are in immediate need I might consider putting it out on eBay with a buy it now option tonight (Monday).  That said it's a premium specimen and with the clamps and taking lens the whole kit I've assembled is going to be more expensive that what you can probably find on eBay with a quick search.  If you need a ready-to-go high end B&H Kowa message me and we can discuss.

  7. I have a Pre-36 that I might consider selling.  It includes the original 50mm taking lens 2.8 with Nikon mount native.  It has a slight/faint mark on the rear element but appears to have no effect on images.  Focus ring is a bit stiff but not too bad.  I'm sure a day at the lens tech for cleaning etc is in order but it's real purrty and I've had nothing but great results with it.  IF you were considering re-housing in a fancy cinema housing I think that it would be a great candidate and those little funky elements would go bye bye once re-housed.

Make me an offer.  Would come with redstan clamps as well.  Rear and Front.

  8. That's nice of you to offer for sure but I'm both lazy and busy and it's super easy to do international shipping with ebay and I want to make sure I can get this out to you quickly by just dropping the pre-labeled package at the post office.  I know PayPal does shipping too but their international option is new to me.  Let me check it out and then I'll either go PayPal or eBay.

Interested in any other anamorphics?  I've thinking of selling my yashica (mini lens...kinda like the baby hypergonar), fm lens variable diopter (those are impossible to find online but I've got an extra one and am going to buy a core dna soon so have to clean house, Iscorama Pre-36 with 50mm original iscorama taking lens f2.8 w/ Nikon mount & redstan clamps, Hypergonar 16 STOP, and a regular spherical (non-anamorphic) Olympus Pen F 38mm 1.8 prime lens (Ian Weir rec'd it to use with the baby hyper and it's aweome....just that mine has a looseness in the front stage of the housing and I'm not a guy who can fix things like that and too lazy to have repaired.  It's a beauty if you aren't considering the slight repair needed to make it tight with no play.

I also have a shit ton of high end diopters from +.25 to +1.25.  Lots of different sizes and most are achromatic.

    Anyway talk soon,

    Jay

  9. Hey there.  Sorry I've been crazy busy with work and shooting day and night.  I completely forgot to check this thread.  I bought the Elmo II for $425 +shipping last year and the redstan clamp is probably worth at least 50 but I can't recall exact amount.  I'll do the 1 rear clamp and lens for $400 (not including shipping which I have no clue how much that will be as it gets calculated after purchase through eBay shipping app).  If you want to buy at that price I'll post in eBay with a Buy it Now option so you can buy it right away.  It's in really good shape and was advertised as "Mint" when I bought it although I don't know what constitutes "Mint Condition" exactly.  I will say that it's pretty damn nice and I'm sure you'll love it.  If you don't like it for some reason I'll give you a few days to change your mind and refund your money once it arrives back at my place in same condition.  The only thing I ask is that if you do return it you will need to cover the shipping cost as I really don't want to lose money sending this lens across the pond and back so to speak.  But, again, I have no clue why you wouldn't keep it forever as it is quite nice.  Just remembering now that it does have little marks around the front barrel from the tiny screws from a CoreDNA focus module screwed onto the front barrel.  They are very small and only cosmetic....probably just paint scraped off by the screws honestly.  I'm sure you'll be attaching a Rectilux or something similar anyway so you'll never see those little marks anyway.

I'm only selling this because I went insane this year buying anamorphic lenses and it's just ridiculous over here at my house.  I saw your post and it inspired me to sell off one....maybe more to come.  In fact if someone is reading this I do have an Iscorama Pre-36 that I may sell (along with the original 50mm taking lens that Iscorama sold them with back in the day.  It has a Nikon mount.  I never use it because I always put my own taking lens onto the back with a redstan 2-part clamp.  Part of me wishes I didn't just write this but I'm on a selling bender now and that sucker would pay for some much needed other toys on the list.

  10. I haven't thought about price really...let me get back to you.  I can put it on eBay for sale and shipping to the UK or wherever else.  I'd be selling with the redstan clamp but would you want a front redstan filter clamp and/or a taking lens as well?  If you prefer I could send you a complete unit ready to shoot with or just the Elmo II and the rear clamp.

  11. I have an Elmoscope II in top condition.  What's your price to buy?  Wasn't planning on selling it honestly but I have too many anamorphics and if you make me a good offer I'd consider parting ways with my Elmo.  PM me your offer and if it works for me I'll make an eBay auction with pics so you can look at it and buy securely.
