Not sure if this is the best place to post...
But, here are some frames from a shoot I did today with the GH5 as my b-cam (A-cam was a C200- not pictured here). Love this little camera.
Open to critics as well if you guys have any.

Honestly Tamron makes Sony so much more appealing to me. Previously I was put off by the price of the Sony lenses

Instead of getting advice from other people about what would be useful for other people to buy, think about what would be useful for you by thinking about what you could have used in shooting past projects... They say that yesterday is the biggest predictor of tomorrow.  Things change, but they don't change that fast.
So, think about previous projects and what problems you had when actually shooting things, then think about what would be the best way to address those issues, and once you've done that for each of the problems, look at the ones where the best solution is equipment and only then think about buying something to solve those problems for you.
I think everyone has bought something to solve a problem they think they will have, and they've ended up never using that thing they bought.  If you buy something that will help a problem you've actually had in real life, then you've got half-a-chance of actually using it.

So I guess you're only shooting with Arri and Red cameras (because they're professional) using Zeiss Primes (because they're professional) and put it all on O'Connor sticks (because they're professional)? Anything else and you should expect 480p TOPS (because it's not professional) ?

I hate these kinds of stupid comments. He should absolutely expect a perfectly usable product for 200 euro. Not everyone needs 3km range and perfect crystal clear full spectrum audio that will make sure bride's "yes I do" will be transmitted on hollywood level never seen before on a damn youtube wedding video.

I've been using my Rode Filmmaker Kit with zero issues in tightly packed convention centers. My drone has more issues being on 2.4 Ghz than the Rode.

    'Electronic Image Stabilizer
Canon has also added an image stabilizer for the first time in a cinema camera. They call it a 5-axis image stabilizer, so it’s technically not an IBIS because it’s fully electronic.'
It's just that it has an accelerometer built-in noticing the changes in the 5-axis giving better chances to correct for unwanted motion artifacts/wobble, so better than 'we'll fix it in post with warp stabilizer', but still digital correction inducing a crop.

I still recommend my own LUTs for N-Log: http://colorizer.net/index.php?op=aces
The official LUT provided by Nikon is very amateurish, see what it does to a grey gradient:

See the ripple in the highlight rolloff? It's ugly. Let's see it with curves:

You can also see that the neutrals don't stay neutral, especially the shadows.

Adam Kuźniar reacted to kye in Best way to expose on non-log profiles
If you're asking me how I do it personally, then I just let the camera do it.  I've played with my exposures enough to know that I'm ok within a certain range and can get what I need.
    I think this is personal.
    Have a read of these:
    https://www.hurlbutacademy.com/film-education-arri-alexa-vs-canon-c500/
    https://www.hurlbutacademy.com/film-education-arri-alexa-vs-canon-c500-part-2/
If you do the tests and absolutely love it at a certain exposure and hate it at anything else then expose it like that.  If you do the tests and discover you don't care, then let something else guide you.  We all see differently, we all have different preferences, you will notice things I won't and vice-versa.
I think there is a progression of knowledge and technique:
Level 1: Full-auto go go go
Level 2: I'm now very aware that I don't know how to do this right, I need help!
Level 3: I've read a bunch and am experimenting and I've worked out all the settings and all the numbers and all the ratios and all the things
Level 4: I don't bother measuring, I just adjust it until it looks right
The Level 4 people can adjust it until it looks right because they know two things: what to adjust, and what looks right.  To get to this level you have to go through the previous steps first.  No shortcuts.
My comments above about Level 4 apply here too.  Read everything you can get your hands on, do all kinds of tests, learn everything you can, then just expose it so it looks right.
I'm reminded of how professional colourists talk about grading skin tones.  Level 3 people ask questions about the skin-tone line in the Vectorscope and the Level 4 people just laugh and ask "How would you grade these?"

Adam Kuźniar reacted to BTM_Pix in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
    I'm completely relaxed thanks.
I was debating a point with a complete idiot that was reducing the collective IQ of the forum every time he posted but if you want to open up the subject again..
From my experience with the JVC LS300, most lenses are able to do 90-94% coverage of the sensor so the windowed mode would be minimal (both in terms of FOV and resolution loss) and a fair compromise for the ability to use lightweight mft lenses.
I don't know where the E mount or RF mount come into it as I never mentioned those as being a viable option for BM to incorporate.
Its a fair point about the original BMCC but that was also at a time when electronic mft EF adapters didn't exist so people were buying them because it was a shallower mount and more adaptable.
There is no reason why the new mount would not be active as per the Pocket 4K and there are now plenty of electronic EF adapters on the market though so its a bit of a moot point in the context of the point about this camera today.
The lens landscape in terms of quality and range for mft lenses is also significantly different between now and then.
For a camera with such rudimentary AF, there is no loss of performance in using an adapter versus native, only a loss of flexibility in having the option of both.
For the sake of a 90% windowed mode only when using the small lightweight lenses, I don't think there would have been a huge pushback at that compromise, particularly as it would also then allow the use of PL lenses amongst others.
With regard to PL compatibility, this is a list from the SLR Magic PL Adapter and is actually quite a bit more extensive than other adapters that carry the same core list
    SLR Magic SLR Magic ANAMORPHOT-CINE 35mm/50mm/70mm SLR Magic APO-HyperPrime 25/50/85 Century Optics Century Optics S2000 150-600mm - Canon Century Optics 200 mm T 2 - Canon Nikkor Nikkor Micro 200 mm T 4 Nikkor 800 mm T 5.6 Nikkor 300 mm T 2 Nikkor 200 mm T 2 Cooke Optics Cooke 18-100 mm T 3 Canon Canon 800 mm T 5.6 Canon 400 mm T 2.8 Canon 300 mm T 2.8 Canon 20-35mm T4 Angenieux Angenieux 20-120 mm Angenieux 7-81 mm T 2.4 HR Angenieux 17-102 mm T 2.9 Angenieux 24-290 mm T 2.8 Angenieux Optimo 24-290 mm Angenieux Optimo 28-70 mm Angenieux Optimo 17-80 mm T 2.2 Angenieux Optimo 15-40 mm T 2.6 Angenieux Optimo 45-120mm Angenieux Optimo 28-340mm Angenieux Optimo 19.5-94mm Focus Optics Ruby 14-24mm T2.8 AllStar Allstar 135mm T1.9 Allstar 80-200mm T3 Allstar 50mm T1.5 Allstar 18-35 T1.8   Hang on, you're asking if I'm sure "a lot of the PL mount lenses will not work with the PL mount adapter?" and then immediately talking about a product that exists purely to address that issue!
With regard to the speed booster, I don't know who's original quote that is as it's not mine, but there is a big difference between that statement and the Lucadapters solution.
Both products, as smart as they are, are offering solutions that need not have been there had BM continued with the mft mount and are nowhere near as convenient as the solutions on offer if they had.
I'm not saying that EF was a flat out bad choice (and it might actually have resulted in more attraction for people who don't like the mft mount) but it was certainly the less flexible and I don't recall a massive backlash towards the Pocket 4K for having an mft mount in terms of lack of sales of it.
By the way, for what its worth, I'm quite an advocate of thinking outside the box when it comes to BM cameras.
    Way outside of it

Where did I say it was an adapter rather than a mod?
The clue that it is a mod is in the actual name of the product.
I didn't produce his list though, I showed the list of the existing adapters. His mod fleshes that list out pretty well which reinforces the original point I made about the limited choice with an adapter.
The announcement of the Bezamod being available for the Pocket6K was post the discussion you've quoted by the way and I'm not sure it would've moved the needle much as it does not have a release date and remains some way short of being funded and even then only carries an estimated earliest shipping date of February 2020.
It forces it with one specific lens type.
The same way that Blackmagic have announced a Super16 windowed mode for the Pocket 4K if you want to use those lenses where, again, you need an adapter.
If you want to use it with EF lenses then it won't be cropped and you can use a speedbooster as well if you want.
    Without a mod.
And you can use it with PL lenses with a simple adapter.
    Without a mod.
Or Leica M lenses for fast, compact lenses with a simple adapter.
    Without a mod.
I can see we won't agree on this (and nor do we have to so thats fine) so I'll leave it here but I can see one negative of retaining the mft mount versus several negatives to the EF mount.
BM have access to way more data than I do so I'm sure they've made the most logical choice for their needs based on that data.

    Try everything.
My suggestion above is a lot of work but think about it this way, you have two options:
Spend an afternoon or two doing my test, learn how your camera responds, learn things about image quality, and build a new skill Shoot ETTR because someone on the internet told you to, and maybe years later you learn that it wasn't the best way and you could have been making nicer footage all those years I mean, Internet forums always have better advice than what professional cinematographers do themselves, right?

Sure, the second video is very action-packed but it's not because of the aspect ratio changes, but rather the editing itself. Besides, like you said, it's targeting young people who wanna have fun.

This is what we came up with.. would love to hear what everyone thinks.. we took a different direction on this piece than we normally do.

A7III + Tamron 28-75 2.8 = $3000 or something like that and you get a better sensor and lens.
One way they could redeem themselves a tiny bit is to offer a better codec as a FW update after the A7SIII is released (as was the case for A6000).

The lack of 24p is funny because it's literally one frame less than 25p which you can shoot. So what about 24p makes it impossible to write? Nothing. It's entirely doable. They've done it in the past. They can do it now.
Why isn't it there then? Because they're stupid. And this is why we're making fun of Canon.
