  1. Yes, you right. Effective area of 2-3m front glass in width around 55mm, so rear lens 80mm of Singlus prototype enough to cover. On photo sample with 2-2 version. Now I think how to easily adapt Singlus for 35nap family. Best result when front element of scope close as possible to rear lens of focus module.

seems like you have a lot of cold fusion going on in those pics :)

i bought the Soviet lens ANAMORPHIC 35 NAP 2-3M F=80:140 56/2 USSR to experiment with, however its front diameter is 130 mm and the back is 104. i presume that your focus adapter fits some of the other members of the 35 nap family ? or am i missing something ?

Mate, why don't you finally start a kickstarter for mass production? :glasses:

Exact this lens not my, one friend sent me for tests. He think about kickstarter :-) Nearest target for me finish good body for big single focus to use with big scopes. Then make detailed tests with different ana lenses to understand, how good and universal my future single focus. And maybe I'll think about kickstarter also )

    Very nice build!

I'm planning to buy my first anamorphic lens but first i'm looking into affordable single focus solutions, since the slr magic rangefinder and the Core DNA are a little too expensive for me. I saw on another thread that it is possible to build a variable diopter using a diopter and a wide angle adapter in front of it. Is that how you build your own?

My variable diopter - calculated and produced lenses from optician. Variable diopter from WA and positive diopter have cons like a lot of CA in edges. For more info welcome to PM

  4. Test with external donor IRIS 20 blades (Industar 51), placed between anamorphic lens (Schneider ES Cinelux 2x with custom single focus) and taking lens (wide open).

Camera: Sony a6300 (with other setups needed tests, present vignette or no)

    Taking lenses:

    Helios 44-2 58mm F:2
Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 50mm F:1.8
    PO-109-1A 50mm F:1.2 (projector lens without build-in aperture)

  5. Very cool! Can you show your modded 35NAP?

Hey! Recently I did a Promo video for a XCO bicycle race, and the intro was shot using my DIY'ed anamorphic adapter from the 35nap 2-3.

I'm pretty excited about the image I can get with it. The adapter though still needs some work to be a bit more precise in lens alignment, and of course some solution to double focus would be awesome. But for projects, where I have time, I'd try and shoot with it the next time also. Probably a bit too much color effects in the intro to fully enjoy the anamorphic image, but it still shows through.
