Looks really nice. Art 35mm is quite under-rated around here. A lot of fashion photographers use it these days.

X2 on this. You can even practise cinematic portraits with some old, battered Elinchrom or Bowens strobes that you got for 100 on ebay that output a similar amount of power (for a still) as a really expensive movie light. Obviously compared directly the quality of light of a big 10-20K fresnel/HMI will be a bit different to a small flash head but you can learn to work with light and get a decent idea of what you can accomplish in a small kit.

You got to love it.  The modern world.  You can you get it right IRL, but get chastised for failure by random internet strangers.

Although post isn't my specialist area, I've been doing a fair bit of ADR/foley recording on the side lately, did some ADR with Doug Brooks last night, and this vlog was some ADR & foley I did with Logan Marshall a couple of weeks ago:

The motion isn't necessarily filmic but I think the grade and overall look is. Looks nice anyway, that's the main thing. ?

There is always the possibility they may not fulfill *all* orders at once on the first day, it might trickle at only a few hundred at a time. So they're "meeting their target date" but also many pre orders might also still have a long wait ahead. Who knows.
It is funny what different people see as "prosumer" cameras.

I might maaaaaybe classify an LS300 as "prosumer", maybe.

    But a FS7?! Nope!

Haha hilarious! I opened a calendar and counted until 5th August. That's fantastic.
Edit: 5th of any month is irrelevant anyway - Doubling down on stupidity today!

Good to know!  Thanks for the useful information.  Hey guys, nobody will notice!   I can get rid of my ND's now.  Better sell them on ebay quick before word gets out about this one new trick to expose video on your camera.  You won't believe what happened next...  [draws a red circle with a red arrow pointing at it]

Thanks, 1/120th. Although I’d rarely use it, the biggest missing feature with the 5D3 and ML Raw is 1080p 48 or 60fps... but this kinda works in a pinch...
EDIT: sorry... I used 1/96th. I first tried 60p... but it seemed too much for the camera so I dropped it down to 48p... so I shot that with 1/96th.

I decided to test some 48fps with the regular 14bit ML build. I processed it as Alexa LogC 24fps through the MLV App.
As suspected... since it’s less than HD... it’s soft, but for short close ups... it could work in a pinch.
Any updates on the slow motion capabilities with the experimental 10/12 bit modes?

On Lanier's site his catchphrase seems to be "you only have one chance to get it right". Obviously never shot raw with the D750.

"50% lower" is a broad statement, 50% lower than who exactly? If it is 50% lower than the current cheapest anamorphic lenses then this is exciting, but if it is 50% off $50K well maybe not so much.....

I have nothing to do with this film other than i think it's amazing! They've been, like they always are, very open with everything through out the whole process. Including gear which is why i thought it would fit here on EOSHD.
Premiered on Swedish cinemas four days ago.
Total budget: $2M, shot on FS7 and vintage Russian lenses. More info below.

    Director Victor Danell on Facebook:
"Last year I directed my first feature. Me and the DP wanted a lifeful and ”not so perfect” look to keep the story grounded, so we decided to shoot on vintage lenses. I relubed and added a oval iris on every lens my self. Shot on a Sony FS7
This is the complete set of lenses we used. A total price of less then $800.

So you are telling me that all the Canon C cameras that have DPAF in them you would Never buy because the have AF?? That all of the newer Canon Cine cameras are total shit because they Have AF in them. Interesting. No Pro would be caught dead with one is what you are implying..

I hear the "views/likes" point being made a lot lately. The worst porn videos have millions of views, and we all know that the vast majority of the humam population is oblivious to some (most) of the best movies/paintings/musicians.
All my favorite bands together, all their albums and songs ever, have probably less views than the last Justin Bieber video, and I do not even know one song of the guy.
Views and/or popularity, do not justify everything.
Disclaimer: This opinion is irrelevant with the above video.
There are a couple Black Mirror episodes and one in The Orville about popularity, social media and the new challenges they create in the new world.
