    That's Shane Hurlbut,

    I'm aware

I've seen people say Hurlbut treats those under him like shit, which is believable if you've seen any of his DVDs, so maybe it's a shame The Batman/The Bateman didn't beat his ass too.

  2. Yeah. Those would just work with Godox stuff though, I think. I'm guessing all the big brands will come out with one of these eventually.

I want a hotshoe that attaches to the phone, then I can plug my Elinchrom trigger into it. That is less brand specific. Any Elinchrom, Profoto, etc trigger would work from it.

I guess just setting the packs to photocell (slave) and using the phones crappy flash could work, too. At least for studio (might not see it outdoor).

I wonder if the modern digital camera manufacturers are missing a trick here. It seems the desire for a more 'filmic' look for video is fairly universal. However if I go through the 10 picture profiles on say my Sony, I basically find an odd mix of either 'digital video' looks or 's-log' which is really an attempt to give you as much leeway in post to create your own look (which isnt a lot with an 8 bit file.)

What I dont see is much attempt at creating 'creative profiles' that match what would be considered a 'filmic look' straight out of camera (or with limited tweaking.) Seems this is the route that Fuji has gone down with the x-h1 and the Eterna profile and it has been generally well received.

I remember Hurlbut saying that's basically what Canon was trying to do, give a Kodak film look. (with the C series.)

No Chris, not my craft. I am not upset as I could tell you answering your PM. As written, no worries. I also think I can disclose a bit the content of your message which clearly hints you've actually recommended that same lens, so not exactly a divergence unites us on that one : ) My point is to clear up the topic, no other : ) I am usually one of the jokers over here so why shouldn't I be second your mood there, isn't it? : D We come to these boards for making friends among the members not to fight on topics, no matter we may diverge or not (E :-)

Like we said, sometimes the wires get crossed in text communication.

The crappy comment was actually mainly in reference to the servo zoom/focus.

1D C produced amazing thick files, chunky 500Mbit 4:2:2 4K, with Canon's trademark clean low light and great colour in a small body with a massive sensor. I recently saw one go for under £2000 for first time. It's a steal.

Where did you see that? Just checked ebay and the prices on there are still delusional for the most part. :( ie - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Canon-EOS-1DC-Bundle/162733235550?hash=item25e3a81d5e:g:xBIAAOSwXaRZ-PCG

Saw one for 2350 the other week but I messaged the guy after it went down quickly and he had cold feet and decided to keep it.

I don't know that lens for such gross statement... But, for the goodness sake of it, can you point me any example where you may substantially testify that one?

Did you design this lens? You seem to be so upset by someone calling it crappy. Maybe go for a walk.

  7. I've not used the Oly. Back then I had the Nocticron for a while but preferred the Voigt, despite it not being as sharp. It's very flattering.
