Nokishita published the full spec sheet. It is a monster, a D3 and F5 moment. Records Prores HQ N-log internal as well. I wonder if the 4K will be a perfect downsampling of the full sensor though. Oh, and as previously reported - NO mechanical shutter.

Gordon Laing's video is the best. DPReview hardly told us anything.
He shows samples of log video (un-graded) in clog3 and shows detailed 400% zoom chart tests to show detail in all the modes versus R5. It does look like the R3 is landing solidly in-between the R5 and A1 as far as quality and specs go. No 30 min record limit. Gordon got 6 hours of record time off external power source, 2h 12m off of internal battery shooting in 4K25p.
With the new data hot shoe, IBIS, and DIS the R3 is shaping up to be a pretty capable video camera with plenty of room for R1 to flex.
Also, setting white balance is now like all the other cameras. No more taking a picture and loading the white balance. Please bring this to R5!

Cant say enough good things about the Siii as well. While not perfect it is an incredible tool. I also have fell in love with the smaller file size and look of the photos. I really try to stay with 640 or 12800 as well.
Frame grab for a short I am working on. Crazy bright day on the boat.

I'll go out on a limb and say that the Canon R5 is the most underrated HYBRID camera, especially after seeing how the A7sIII practically took over the Youtube circle jerk crowd in the blink of an eye.
The R5 got rightfully panned because of the overheating failure and extremely poor marketing, but take another look at it now. It's a brilliant stills camera with great autofocus, colors and resolution and the shutter sound is subliminal. It's also a 10bit 422 video camera that I for the life of me can't get to overheat when recording 4K standard (which I know is softer which I actually prefer) and the s35 oversampled crop mode is rock solid, it doesn't overheat no matter how hot the ambient temperatures are.
Still better colors than Sony, very good rolling shutter performance and a huge amount of glass if you are willing to use adapters. And it feels like a camera, the ergos are perfect.

I for one wouldn’t disagree with you.
Stupid stupid stupid contrived business decisions that really do not deserve rewarding…but at the same time, for most users real world needs, I couldn’t disagree with you and it would be in a race…which it would likely win, with the XT4, for being my choice if the S1H didn’t exist.
The win would be mostly down to the glass options.

@Simon Young R6 can do full DPAF in  all modes including FF 4K60p. No 1.3x mode but S35 crop mode does also half the RS to 15ms.

Damn someone got a sweet deal on an A7S3!! I agree though, I severely dislike Alpha bodies and rarely if ever use EVF for video. FX3 is the first Sony mirrorless hybrid that doesn’t look/feel like consumer grade photo camera. The active cooling is probably the most significant addition on such small high performance cameras. If Sony indeed adds a few missing cine features like DCI, scopes etc FX3 could be a bombshell!

Why would a vent be needed when a7S already has no overheating? Maybe a sensor with more mp and oversampling?

It must be pre-baked data sets of some sort ('assemble on site'). What Cpu are you rockin'?
Yes, with default settings, except set to DR400 (for photos), FLog is preferable for widest gamut

I gave it a spin a few weeks ago; sometimes it works decently, and sometimes less so. Here's a comparison of GH5 and Arri, as well as their gradient charts:

I just tested it on some Sony A6300 S-Log2/S-Gamut3.cine and Fuji X-T3 F-Log/F-Gamut clips and if you're after a precise conversion, the results are far from great. It can still be a timesaver though.

They're fantastic. AF works great. Image quality is great. The 23 even has a slight rainbow flare at f1.4 which is a nice characteristic. My only grip is that they don't look great and the aperture ring isn't clicked, so I end up moving it a lot by mistake, although that's less likely to happen now that I can control the aperture with the front dial.

I am indeed! I meant to thank bloggers (including Andrew specifically) for bringing the issue of overheating up so much. The pressure about the timer nonsense forced Canon to change the way the camera monitors temperatures, which is the reason the mod works at all.

I own the Z6, I love it but it has usability problems for video. There is significant delay over the external HDMI, and in the viewfinder itself when shooting in 24p and 30p there is bad delay.

While these seem like small issues, they are a PITA on actually using it for work.

Personally I hope they stick to h264, h265 is a nightmare to edit. They should add higher bit-rate also, same as we have different jpeg setting. High bitrate 10 bit h264 would be a dream for 90+of jobs. When I see what you can already do with their 140 mbit codec, it would be both practical and lighter weight.
