I finally got a chance to play around with some of the 8-bit color on the G6. Shooting profile was Natural, -5,-5,-5,-5. This frame was also taken with the ETC crop mode on, as I was using a C-mount lens. Aside from the obvious dynamic range issues, I felt it graded quite well. The GX85 is sure to outperform the G6 in terms of sharpness thanks to the lack of an AA filter, which is sure to make ETC much more usable.

Hey everyone,
I've been lurking on this thread for a while partially due to my interest in the GX85 as A-Camera for a creative project running through my brain but also due to the peppering of advice regarding other lumix cameras.
In June I was hired to document a whitewater rafting trip in Colorado and didn't want to rent or borrow any gear in case it got water damaged. I found a lightly used G6 on eBay for $150! The catch was that the lens contacts were broken so no AF or electronic aperture.
With that limitation in mind, I shot the job with an old Fuji 12.5-75mm c-mount lens and managed to keep everything dry.
Now that the job's done, I'm looking to do more work with that camera. My company uses GH4's at work so it could be a good B-Cam once I test and tweak the settings to my liking.
Thsnks for all your information, it's been helpful.

If you come to NAB, let me know. I usually end up going because I live so close.

Here is a quick video showing the NX1 and NX500 SD Card Hack for Focus Buttons.
This program allows you to record up to 6 focal points, these are stored on the SD card and will work after a camera restart.
This works for photography, especially good for storing infinity focal point to re-use when it is dark for Astro Photography.
Works in video allows you to do focus pulling from one focal point to another.
Thanks again to Otto for all the hard work, All details can be found on https://github.com/ottokiksmaler/nx500
This is an amazing advancement for 1-person shooters. Any chance it could work via wifi and the remote app?

I agree. These examples show the best looking Sony images using Pro Color by far. I'm guessing it's due to the 14-bit processing, plus HDR/Rec2020 capability plus Andrew's increased experience. This makes me wonder what the GH5s is capable of in terms of straight out of camera color over the GH5.
