If there is a field where 4K makes sense 100% is in drone work. I wouldn't loose time with the BMMC, imho.

What do you tell those clients to whom you deliver the images then, when they want 4K and 120fps?

Well yes precisely. Honestly any time something like that comes up in a professional sense they just assume a rental. So I just say my day rate and a rental fee and they always are fine with it. Thats why the camera's I own need to be the most versatile tool possible. Most minimal versatile tool. Anything beyond that is just rental.
    HAHAHA!! Of course

No, but come on... The C100 is such a dull little work camera. An office tool in comparison to something like a sports car.
I'm not saying it's a bad camera... It's just that is designed to be a work tool, by a company that also makes photocopiers

That's a very good performance for a mobile phone. I like the popping colors. Try Cinema4K app with 200Mbps codec and flat profile.
The camera wobbing is very annoying, does Galaxy S7 use it's lens stabilisation when recording 4K or only at 1080p?

Don't own the BMMCC, but I do own the pocket and GH4, so I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in if it helped.
Image quality overall is better with the pocket. Solidly better in pro res, and a lot better in raw. I like using it more when I can.
The GH4 has been very useful for the low rent jobs that I make my living on for a number of reasons. Battery life, ,memory card space and reframing with 4K in post being the biggest.
I must say, coming from the GH2/GH4, I'm disappointed with the prevalence of moire with the BMPCC, particularly on wider detailed shots of architecture. I'm used to never worrying about it with the other two cameras, but it's often there with the pocket.
Still though. I llike the pocket the most overall.

My rig is looking similar to this but just the monitor and a top handle.
However I like your hotshoe rail and F&V ball head... where you get them from, any links to the actual items so I can order?
PS - 1.74x crop with the BMPCC Speed Booster... nice. Canon APS-C is 1.6x crop so not far off fully using the image circle of EF-S lenses.
Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 very nice on it.
    35mm F2.0 IS also.
SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 best one without Speed Booster I have used and the Panasonic Leica 15mm F1.7 best ultra small option.

just my opinion, but yes, I haven't turned my GH4 on since November when I bought a Pocket. Just finished shooting a short doc with it. And now I have the Micro which I prefer in many ways to the Pocket.  But yes, being that I was always finishing in 2K or 1080p, I don't miss the 4K so much. Would be great to have it all but color and DR come first if I have to choose.

But it's 4k 10-bit 4:2:2 via the SDI in a probably quite natural rec.709 color that you could record to ProRes HQ 422. If you don't want to grade too far into stylistic ways or bend the colors, that could actually give good results for a lot of people. The question is just how much dynamic range you'd have with that in comparison to everybodies MILC darlings that do a flat 8-bit 4:2:0 image... plus whatever the low light behaviour is.

This is a MOVI 15, famous gimbal. Written on the photo you uploaded.
Other than that I do not find the video amazing but actually pretty cheap and superficial looking, and I can't bear the sounds :D
    Just my opinion

Is that just raw from the bmmcc youre talking about.  How does prores hold up.  If prores could almost match 5d3 raw then that would be an acheivment, especially at 60p.

for rolling shutter, i want to be able to stack the cameras on top of each other. haven't done that yet. for battery life I didn't time it out but I'd say it's in the neighborhood of 2.5 times longer than the BMPCC battery would last.

Did a side by side with my Pocket & Micro. BMPCC Speed Booster + Sigma 18-35mm. Here's what I saw. No earth-shattering differences but differences nonetheless. My feeling is that you would *have* to view them side by side to know which was which.

    • Noise is mildly reduced on the Micro and a touch more monochromatic.
    • Moire is also slightly less aggressive on the Micro. Maybe 20% less?
    • Micro exposes a hair lower than the Pocket. An adjustment of -.15 on the exposure slider in DaVinci on the Pocket footage brought them in line.
    • Slight color difference between the two. An adjustment on the tint slider of about 6 or 7 points evened them out.

It's interesting. I avoided shooting SLOG this time. Went for Cine4 and graded with FilmConvert, Kodak, A7S II profile. Colour definitely seems nice.

I believe that the new Sigma Canon to Sony adapter allows for video auto focusing. Could be wrong though.

I was slightly considering this as a C-camera but I think it will just collect dust.
I do love the monster specs from Sony, however there are many annoying issues to go with that as well.
It would be ace to get a mirrorless or DSLR camera that shoots 2.5k, 10 bit, has high quality slow motion, decent DR. Lovely colour and a flexible mount. (Almost a Blackmagic!).
I feel that top quality, affordable 1080p has been skipped for brittle, low bit-rate, marketing grabbing 4K.
Little gripes aside, I think some people will get some great use out of the A6300.

Welcome to my rolling review of the Sony A6300. Like the rolling shutter of the A6300 this review takes a long time to get from the top to the bottom so grab a hot drink (be careful not to overheat) and enjoy the ride...

The Sony stuff is the worst. I agree about the lack of BMMCC footage, although the pocket was the same way. I imagine we see a ton in the next few weeks. I hope to have one by the end of next week. I am really wanting that 60p.

Then the Micro is probably a great buy. Small and light as well, which of course is excellent for a b/c cam.
If you arent too picky with resolution and want a Raw camera for slowmo that also doubles as a stills camera and has good lowlight, Im currently testing the 5Dmk3 and Im impressed. Easy to match since you switch it to BMD film.

Yay, the URSA Mini 4.6K ships! Nearly exactly a year after it was announced. (as NAB 2016 is now just around the corner....)
I spent a good few weeks last year thinking hard about pre-ordering the URSA Mini 4.6K, but in the end decided to go with the Sony F3 when I found a great deal on it for only US$1.2K
Now that I see how long it took for the Mini 4.6K to ship (plus who knows how much longer mine would take because I wouldn't have been in the first week of pre orders, so might have been a loooong way down the order queue), I am feeling extra good that I went with an F3 instead! :-D
Yup, taking all this extra R&D would've cost a lot.

The BMMCC will still be a great camera! After all what the top three things people complained about:
    1) poor screen, well... it is gone now! ;-) & as a bonus you get a much smaller camera! A thing many other people hoped for (like drone pilots, or for use in action shots)
    2) the poor battery life
    3) no slow motion (every music video wants that cool looking 60fps shot)

Well, BMD has fixed all three big issues on the BMPCC now!
True for people who already own a BMPCC like you and I, but for the many people who still don't have a BMPCC... then they just got an even more compelling reason why to get a BMD camera now they can buy a shipping BMMCC!

But yes, you and I can wait a little while long for the BMMCC to go on sale or pick one up secondhand for cheap
Because it is silly to even plan a project seriously on the basis of a camera which is not even shipping yet.

    That's a Straw Man argument.
We're not talking about the behavior of a half-assed, undisciplined camera person banking on vaporware.
We're talking about Blackmagic Design marketing and selling vaporware.
