Dude_ger got a reaction from kye in Vivitar/Samyang 7mm 3.5 with Metabones
@kye that s my actual problem, since i want it to be rectilinear but also wide
i used a Tokina 11-16 wide angle which was pretty cool, but it was version 1 which did not work well with the booster.
@tweak thanks, so 8mm would be fine i think. I also thought about the Peleng since i know it well from the skateboarding days.

Do you own these?
An alternative for MFT is the SLR Magic 8mm F4. Not quite as wide but the image quality is pretty decent and they’re not too expensive. I just upgraded to the 7.5mm F2 Laowa to get the extra aperture, but the SLR Magic IQ was fine.

Dude_ger reacted to BenEricson in Vivitar/Samyang 7mm 3.5 with Metabones
Thanks man. This was the Rokinon 8mm I think? It's been a while since i've used that setup. It worked really well at the time though.

Dude_ger got a reaction from BenEricson in Vivitar/Samyang 7mm 3.5 with Metabones
Thanks! I am on GH5 at the moment.
As far as my research took me, there were several companys who made this lens, and one of them claimed a lens a 8mm because they wanted to sale a "new model"..
Nice video btw, good to see new and oldschool filming style cobined together

:46 is with that setup. I believe this was 1080p / 60p mode. 4k might crop a little more? You mean the 8mm 3.5mm, correct? No vignetting.
The black Magic pocket looks better but there was no fisheye option at the time.

Dude_ger got a reaction from EthanAlexander in Fast apertures on the GH5 = Full frame
I don t get the point, you always can tell which picture is fullframe and which is apsc or mft or whatever. It s not about the light, it s the look, and this look you can t replicate using faster lenses.

Dude_ger got a reaction from leeys in Shoulder rig for a mirrorless camera - how not to go overboard?
Rent one and check for yourself.
A shoulder rig isn't just about holding your camera..
You have 4 points where your body is connected to the camera, 2 hands, shoulder and your eye. This allows movement and a look you don't get with anything else.
You can attach a follow focus and pull focus without shaking.
You won't use it all the time- it's a tool for special scenes like a Steadicam or Dolly, you only use it when needed. (Or if you do like an event all day long)
If you like the feeling of your rented rig, don't buy a compromise- no gorilla pod and no rig with one handle or anything that costs less than 200 $ (new), you will get pissed of because of screws getting loose and things like that.
You always can atttach weight to a rig, but i recommend doing this after all is set up and you can balance it right.

Dude_ger got a reaction from Grégory LEROY in Ultra wide angle for GH5: native or adapted?
Just got the Tokina 11-16 as a replacement for my old samyang 14mm. I love it. Keep in mind that the Tokina has 9 aperture blades vs 7 on the Panasonic 14mm

Dude_ger got a reaction from Tito Ferradans in Selling my Kowa 8z
Hi, just put it up on Ebay.
Kowa 8z, 3D Clamp from Tito, lock ring, front and rear caps.
Rear lens has a little scratch, no fungus or cleaning marks.

Dude_ger got a reaction from webrunner5 in gh5 timelapse
95% Gh5 and handheld, i always use elctronic shutter (except nightshots), it s such a great thing. Only the GH5s levels are shit, but it is one of the best cams for timelapse in my opinion. I often find myself using the kit lens, because it s such a light setup. The 5d gave me back pain.
