AlexTrinder96 reacted to Tito Ferradans in Letus Anamorph-X 1.33x PRO review
It's rare for an adapter to surprise me, and the Anamorph-X 1.33x Pro from Letus achieved that. It allows you to go super wide and it holds up image quality like very few other adapters out there.
Flares could be improved, but as these are still being made, we can just email Letus a bunch and get things changed - which is another great advantage of this lens over vintage adapters.
What do you think of the footage and the results?

Quite a nice hands on review on the usability of the camera:

AlexTrinder96 reacted to Mattias Burling in Can we all just have a big f***ing laugh about this...
I don't see any apologies. I just see people that accept reality for what it is and how they will deal with it. I still don't understand why this is happening.
Why is this entire forum up in flames over a bunch of newly announced, awesome, in their own ways, cameras?
Why do we as a group choose to use the occasion for constant wining, competing, measure penises, attack and ridicule those who dont think exactly like us?
Why aren't we discussing what these new things will add to this community?
Why does everyone go to bash in the thread of their least favorite instead of having a pleasant conversation in the thread about the one that is their favorite?
Positive posts seems to always end up in a thread about other stuff, just as flame instead of where it belongs.
3 new major announcements within a week or so + more to come = The most negative atmosphere ever on a camera forum = Psychotic
I remember when NAB, Photokina, etc made forums a fun place.

AlexTrinder96 reacted to Andrew Reid in Why the camera press need to grow a pair of balls
Publish and be damned?
In the run up to IBC, I was put on mailing lists by PR agencies against my will, working for various camera-related brands. I received invite after invite to meet, to talk, to build bridges and make friends. Meanwhile DJI was spamming my forum via a fake user, advertising the Mavic 2.

AlexTrinder96 reacted to Django in EOS R official video specs discussion
@no_connection no i don't expect hollywood to be using the EOS R, my point however was that 10-bit 4:2:2 Log has it's relevance, on a tripod, on a gimbal, maybe even handheld with IS. I'll probably mainly be using it in 1080p so the crop/RS isn't even an issue..
@Shield3 that's a common misconception.. the amount of light is the same. try it yourself by switching from FF to APS-C if your camera has that function, the image doesn't get darker.. same if you crop a photo, doesn't change the lighting. plenty of videos explaining this, i like this one with the light meter analogy: https://youtu.be/VeQPtk7icjo
AlexTrinder96 reacted to Jimmy in 4 way battle - rating the chances of Panasonic vs Canon vs Nikon vs Sony full frame mirrorless systems
Unless they buy the dedicated video camera!
If the C200 had some weird crop still image mode, the still guys wouldn't sit crying about it, they'd just buy the stills camera.
AlexTrinder96 reacted to Ivko Pivko in 4 way battle - rating the chances of Panasonic vs Canon vs Nikon vs Sony full frame mirrorless systems
The GH5 just needed better AF like DPAF or PDAF to be the perfect camera. Sony just needs a better screen, be it tilty-swively or 90º up to appeal to people like bloggers and maybe 50p 4k and 10bit for cinematographers.
Canon and Nikon are entering the fray bringing numbers and history but for some reason they're going to protect their DSLR line or their Cinema line. That gives Pana and Sony a very good opportunity to react and be in a better position when the landslide arrives. It's either that or being crushed to bits by the dinosaurs. Really rooting for the nimble mammals here.
AlexTrinder96 reacted to fuzzynormal in Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
Well...what market, exactly? The consumer photo enthusiast market?
I mean, I've literally had an Olympus high-def camera shoved up my ass. So there's the "camera-that-gets-shoved-up-a-patient's-ass" market and all the accompanying medial field stuff.

Don't know if everyone has seen this, but BM is allowing us to download the files for ALL of the sample videos posted. Before I found this I had only seen the download feature enabled for one of John's videos. But they can all be downloaded here. - https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicpocketcinemacamera/gallery

For me, Panasonic has listened to what people have asked for and consistently developed their cameras in a meaningful direction.

I couldn't agree more! Geoff Boyle's argument on resolution comes to mind...
very true, if Blackmagic were to make an 8k broadcast cam I'd hope it would be in that price range 😋
