Ricardo Constantino reacted to IronFilm in Canon Cinema EOS C70 - Ah that explains it then!
I'm not talking about 6yrs ago, I'm talking about right now.

Unless they're shooting with a RED (which doesn't offer them other options), then low/mid budget professional DoPs are generally speaking not shooting in raw.

    The exceptions, not the norm.
Exactly, it is in line with what C100 series was at release. And a lot cheaper than the C200 was originally.

Wait for the Sony FX6 as well.
    Exactly!
Heck, even the internal 10bit for some cameras is better than the same camera's raw output. (am looking at you Sony FS7!)
The Canon C70 as an A Cam is aimed at low (perhaps mid) budget professional work (ultra low budget work uses mirrorless/DSLRs for their A Cam). They don't need or want raw in 95% of the shoots.
Doesn't matter when Anamorphic AF lenses don't exist!
They differentiate by being the best (or at least, thought of as that) when it comes to image quality.

And by being incredibly good when it comes to overall workflow/ecosystem for the productions they're aimed at.

It is strange, until I remember a key lesson from economics:
    "People have unlimited wants".
And that people will blur the line between "wants" and "needs".
(this is one of the key reasons why socialism will always fail. Because even if you can give everything that people want/need right now, that won't be enough! As people will have expectations inflation, and will have a new higher level of demands. Thus you always need a way to allocate scarce resource efficiently, which is exactly what price signals to. You abolish price signals, and you abolish the ability to effectively allocate resources to get the most out of them)

I think he's using the Blackmagic Micro and yeah the zoom style is his signature especially for the live show edits. I think it's to accentuate the rhythm of the songs but I love it so I'm kinda guilty on this subject 😅 nice to see another hxc fan!

MFT is a great format indeed. When I mean dismiss any of them, I meant to ignore either of both actually. You can surely skip one of those if you have the other one, of course : ) But this camera series is a dream come true, my fav acquisition system ever designed, produced and delivered to my book : -)
Mainly shot on P6K, here's a trailer of a feature film co-produced by me currently @ post production:

Stills from some past F3 projects, all with Leica R's and the 5" Video Assist. Such a remarkable camera: lovely to use, easy to grade, solid in low light, lots of dynamic range...for the money I paid, it's earned its keep 50 times over.

Look at some of the older EF lenses sounds like a good idea.
    How about the 20-35 2.8 L?   Replaced by the 17-35 2.8 L which was replaced by the 16-35 2.8 L which was replaced by the 16-35 2.8 L ii which was replaced by 16-35 2.8 L iii.
Mine is falling to bits but i still like it (for a zoom...not a huge user of zooms).

Here's another one from the native land this time...
No idea if any of you knows Portuguese comes from Galician-Portuguese aka Old Portuguese or Medieval Galician.
Spoken in the area of the kingdoms of Galicia and León around the 10th century, before the separation of the Galician and Portuguese languages. Also with influence from Celtic and Germanian tribes such as the Goths and Suebi as well other Suebian people who arrived coming from the north of Europe when the Roman empire fell down. Before pop had popped up itself some centuries after... : D

Here's a Galician-Portuguese version made more than twenty years ago (my generation...) but still a cult song with many people nowadays claiming in this digital days for the return back of this band's hit success, today remastered... love the edit BTW
(who knows if there isn't something new coming from this one, in this day and age, one of these days... born in these same pages ; )

Ricardo Constantino reacted to noone in Why is the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 still not surpassed?
At least with Sony You could buy something like a Sigma 16mm 1.4 and use clear image zoom and you have a 16-32 1.4 zoom in effect with little loss of image quality for video and jpeg stills.      I have it set with the down button on my Sony A7s and then use the left/right buttons to zoom in and out (on the little NEX-3N it works from the zoom switch like a P&S camera) Works great with all lenses but with things like the 55 1.8 and FD 24 1.4 it is fun.       On really fast lenses like an 85 1.2 at 1.2 it is too shallow to use while filming (for me anyway) and even 1.8 FF would be something i would zoom first then use rather than zoom while shooting.
I wish all manufacturers would allow something like this.

Sarah Dietschy just put together her doco setup with a P6K and a P4K, using the MFT lenses from her GH5 for the P4K and borrowing some EF lenses for the P6K but will likely re-buy the EF glass she sold when she went Sony.  She also went Resolve-only for a month and will likely be using Resolve for editing the doco footage she'll potentially be shooting in Braw.
This is kind of a big deal as although she started off with two BMPCCs, she transitioned to Sony and was a big fangirl for them for years.   She was also an Adobe Creator for a year, so that's a departure from there too, at least for doc work.
