This is all very valid and yes we needed more BROLL for that project. Thankfullly I’m very happy with the AROLL so if AROLL is good and you screw up a bit on BROLL It’s fine 😂

Very good and nice image, but needed some more B roll obviously. Just a couple of kicks and a helmet-wearing. Also the transition between two similar headshots with a different color to the second one is kind of weird. Maybe going super close up (not spaghetti western close up! Just head and shoulders) for the smile-shot in the same shot before the end, would have been more appropriate.
As of the camera, I know a lot of people using Nikon for weddings or simple corporate or other videos. Here, some mkII kits are slightly more expensive than the Canon R8 body(!) and there are continuously rebates or some kind of incredible offer..
They have great priced kits with various lenses, a lot of people choose the 24-120mm and they have it all..
    Very tempting..

Did you try adding “Cinematic vs iPhone vs ARRI vs Full Frame smash that like button buy my LUT that I created with ChatGPT should you still buy this vintage one year old camera in 2023” to your search term ?
A lot of stuff gets lost because people are trying to create titles that incorporate the phrases du jour that they hope will get them up the search rankings.
“Avoid these five scams when using the GH6 for stealth van life with otters” etc
From what I’ve seen, the “GH6 vs xyz” is the richest seam to mine as at least you get comparative stuff against known entities like the P4K etc.

Doing tons of work with our two GH5s and an S1 still. With our current color pipeline in post, they hold up very well. I even through in a G85 every once and a while when needed and it holds up great in certain situations. We also bought a Canon R7 this last year to do a long distance doc when we just needed another body. Honestly I would trade out all my cameras for more versions of that if I could, it's a really solid system for the price. When needed we through in some gorpo and iphone footage for specific things.

For my own purposes I am still with BM Pocket (2K, the 1st generation), and (when 4K is needed) the GX85, both paired with stabilized Lumix G X 14-42/3.5-5.6 or, for low light, PanaLeica Nocticron 42.5/1.2. My students use different gear, some "professional", some latest and "greatest". Personally, unless you are in film or TV industry, the gear does not much matter, as long as you have a story to tell, light to follow and angle to shoot from. The rest is good editing of motion and sound. 😊

IBIS beyond 100mm is not very effective (still works). And, of course, you lose information and resolution (crop) with Catalyst. No OSS is a real issue. Not saying it is a dealbreaker.

Welcome back dude, and stay around!
Image is like my 3rd job in the industry, so I spend a lot of money for sound mainly, but recently I worked with A) GH5 3 cameras setup B) A7Siii and A7iii setup C) last night we worked with 2 C300mkIII and 2 C70s, I love the latter..

    Personally,
I still using my fleet of NX cameras, mainly because the lens collection is amazing. I bought this past summer the R7 and a couple of years ago the BMP4K. I am relatively set for the moment, but I am eyeing the R8 now, mainly because I have so many EF and RF lenses that makes perfect sense to just have the option..
As I said, it isn't my main job, but I want to stay relevant somehow (that is why I have the Pocket for braw, and the R7 for the run and gun..

By far and by far the one I use the most is a Sound Devices 833.
Oh wait, that isn't a camera.... I guess my phone then??

Yeah JCC has always had decent gear. I'll probably purchase this with the summer coming, if only to shade my pale ass a little (there's a bigger version available!) From the sun!

Actually, JJC has a lot value for money products. I have some pistol grips and many accessories for bought from them. Also, recently got all my RF sun hoods from them. I didn't know about the umbrella though!

I dunno sorry but that's a really goofy way of looking at things, especially if you're a pro. Buy the best camera you can afford that fits your requirements wether that's specs (resolution, codecs etc) or i/o's ergonomics etc. Obviously be smart and on the lookout for what camera will be a better long term investment rather than short if the camera is at the end of a cycle.
The FX3 is imo a much better investment and solution than the A7IV. First it doesn't overheat. That alone is key. Then you have all the cine features including LUT support. The fast readout sensor, A7IV has terrible RS. And of course the cage-less body and top handle with XLRs. If you're on a budget or don't need FF then the FX30 makes even better sense.
S5ii is also very competitive. Why wait a year or two if you need the camera today?
Don't get me wrong, I don't buy cameras often at all, in fact much less than your average person around here. When I find a camera I'm comfortable with I stick with it forever. And I rarely go for flagships when they are new (I skipped R5, A7S3).
But there are plenty of excellent options in the $2K-$3K region right now both new and used if you're in the market for an upgrade. So many in fact that it is hard to choose!

    MANY things!
    Timecode.
    SDI outputs.
    Reliability.
    Internal NDs.
    More recording options.
    etc etc etc etc
But for many people these extra factors don't matter to them.
However, for many professionals these would be deal breakers for these to be missing.

And it is so dirt cheap to buy a P4K that there would be plenty of spare cash left over to buy a secondhand Panasonic G9 for the photography as well! And you can share the lenses easily between both cameras.

For sure, I was just making fun from his findings anyway but it's some testing at least... Gordon Laing has succeeded to reach 52 minutes going with 4K50p on his turn... This is anything but a travel camera after all, it is what it is :- )

My argument was that we all didn't start with the equipment we now use..I am not sure that this makes this camera less capable for what it was made for..there are half a dozen Sony cameras one can choose (for around that money) and I choose noone, by the way! For me it is not a big deal, for some people this camera is a dream, and I get it..

we just wrapped a few hours ago a documentary for the National TV. The first camera was an A7sIII and the second camera was an A7iii..
for most jobs, even an A7iii is good enough, if you shoot theater productions, even a C100mkII is ideal for it, which is not for most of the other stuff..
This is just one rare case..
most youtubers do not even care for "normal" jobs, and most blue collar videographers do not even know any youtubers..

60p output will always have the dreaded soap opera camcorder look. Just convert the file in a 24p timeline if you want it to look "cinematic". Even the ZV-E1 knows this and switches to 23.98p when you enter cinematic mode.

Nowhere says "unlimited recording for the seasoned professional", you misunderstood the product..
..if you are still searching for the perfect camera, you will always be! Especially these days manufacturers seem to over specialize..
It's really simple what the E1 offers and why is going to be a big hit..
    1) Cutting-edge technology for vloggers
Working with the ZV-E1's 12.1 MP1 full-frame sensor, the latest BIONZ XR™ engine provides high-speed processing to support 4K 60p, 120p upgradable2 recording, while an AI processing unit improves subject-recognition capabilities for advanced vlogging applications
    - a very famous sensor with great chips around it! Zirgons, diamonds and pearls and fancy epistimonic words help to give gravitas anyway!
    2) Sony's E-mount system
Vary your imagery with different lenses
    - as I said, lenses became a huge advantage from a disadvantage for Sony
    3)Intuitive Cinematic Vlog Setting
Create memorable imagery with S-Cinetone™ and other settings
By using Cinematic Vlog Setting5 and choosing a Look and Mood6, you can create cinematic vlog footage that matches the scene and your creative intent. The overall cinematic feel is further enhanced by the use of a 24 fps7 frame rate and the widescreen Cinemascope aspect ratio (2.35:1)8 with black bands above and below the image.
    - "Cinematic" always sells cameras! Everyone wants to be "cinematic" whatever that is..Certainly has black bars above and below!
    4)Rely on stable camera work
5-axis in-body image stabilisation, Dynamic active Mode and Framing Stabilizer
    - a good stabilizer and a couple of gimmicks for the lazy ones..
    5)AI-based Auto Framing for movies
Automatically adjust the framing to highlight your main subject
    - for zombies that want to be filmmakers!
    6)Real-time Recognition AF
Human pose estimation using a skeleton-based model
    - for zombies filming mummies!
    7) Slow and Quick Motion
    Capture action in superhuman detail
    - for the Marvel funs and whoever wants to feel super..(funs of Thus Spoken Zarathustra included..the original super human)
😎Creative zoom control (the rocker in the on/off dial
    - ok, that is good to have regardless
    9) 3 mic audio
    - sounds better than the usual and typical arrangement
    10) amazing battery
    - after half a dozen of years with terrible battery life, when they did it, they really did it..
    11) smallest full frame camera
    - is it really? HUGE selling point..
    12) A7sIII lite for a portion of the price
    - ofcourse it isn't the A7Siii, so it doesn't cost as much.. everyone's happy..if someone needs what the A7Siii does and have..well...yes, right..

true lol but that was before the dan watson review where he got the camera to overheat in 5mn as well as on his couch without even recording. if the camera actual had decent thermal management I wouldn't be so harsh on it myself. then again the intended market will probably shoot short 8-bit baked files. and when the camera overheats in 4K60p/4k120p they will switch to their phones and call it a day. ignorance is bliss.
