Yes, it is the drive that BM has been showing on their website and live at trade shows.

I am run and gun; sticking with the MFT Sigma 16mm F1.4 and 30mm F1.4. I don't need better focusing. Will probably just keep the Sigma 60mm f2.8 with me too for occasional use, or it's forthcoming successor. I think there is some in-camera correction though with these lenses, so maybe the 16mm will just have to be tested before settling on it for sure.

SR got a reaction from Timotheus in Who would pay twice the price if the new BM Pocket 4K had Canon DPAF?
Beautifully put. I am a little fatigued by people nitpicking about a camera that is nothing short of a miracle at that price. In fact, option-wise, it's never been easier to be a filmmaker. I suppose one of the downsides of a forum largely focused on tech is, it becomes a vortex of endless demands and a mindset that the right camera is never in the present, but at a near future, just around the corner.

Nah. It's in the name: it's a cinema camera. Get a RED, get an ARRI and you won't be getting IBIS & silky smooth C-AF either. I liked the GH2/BMPCC days. There was a systematic approach behind the madness. You used to take pride in honing your skills. You were forced to think about what you were doing. Now everyone's striving to have a camera handle like a smartphone, pressing a button and getting spoonfed medium format results or something. If you aren't going to use a cinema camera for cinema style shooting... get something else. 'The right tool for the job' might just be a Canon if what your scenarios need is their DPAF. No shame in that.

You missed out adding the options of 8K resolution, 16 stops dynamic range and a 5-axis stabilizer for half the price of the current BMPCC4K.

I believe the people in "these forums" are exactly the ones that will find them helpful.
At least these are in the right direction and people with no sound experience at all, can improve their sound.
I am a professional soundman for 19 years, and I know that my experience, education and expertise can't be simulated on a few presets, but there is a huge percentage of video makers outhere -amateurs, one man bands, photogrpahers turn to video, cameramen not willing to hire a sound man, ultra low budget productions - that could be benefited for those presets.
There is an increasing attitude in this and other forums, that even camera's internal mics are sufficient for sound, at least now they have a few presets to back up their claims!
For the price, I see a lot of people invested on them.

Lenses to go with the BMPCC4k needs a new thread. This is something I'd follow.

Actually having prebooked it, I'd like to have some lenses ready in hand when the camera arrives. Since a lot of the older lenses are quite cheap, I don't think it's much of a risk investing in them.
This discussion was already going on in the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K thread. This is just an attempt to streamline it to the specific topic without having to read through over a hundred pages of discussion about everything Pocket 4k. ?
Are these corrections done in-camera, or are they part of the lens profile that the editing softwares recognize (what Photoshop does in Adobe Raw)?
Any experience with the Leica R's or Contax Zeiss? I haven't used either.

The best mirrorless camera is the one in your hand.
