Whats with the anti-premiere topics lately? If you don't like the product don't use it. Premiere has it's flaws like all the video editing programs but it's still reliable and has been solid for me tbh

So, my brother has a channel of his kid playing the ABC's game.  The little guy is obsessed with the alphabet and he's a charming good natured kid.  So, bro started making videos with his son everytime the little guy wanted to play with his letters.  At the end of a year they had made about 150 vids.  Somehow the YT algorithm, or an influencer, smiled on their little channel and overnight their subscription rate went from 25 people to 75K; still growing.  He turned on the monetize option and just received a check this month for $2K.
My bro is a blue collar dude and scrapes by.  This is like hitting the lottery a little bit.  He puts in the work, sure, but he and his son both love it and they're getting paid for it now.  He's making more videos than I do.  And, if I'm being honest, they're more engaging than the dry corporate shit I usually do for pay. And, with the extra income he can actually pay a few bills on time for a change.
OTOH, I'm an old creative and working under the traditional distribution model of filmmaking.  My wife and I have tanked about 35K of our own cash into our latest documentary and we've made, maybe, 5K of that back.
    So, brave new world, y'all.

Well, there definitely has to be a structural approach to learning. Even if you keep watching the same film over and over again, perhaps this time without the sound. You'll notice things you otherwise would not have. Perhaps the next time, maybe try reediting the movie to see how it works worse or better. Etc.
I personally dip back into Scorsese films every year. I'm a fan of his characters, editing and structure. Can't ever learn enough from his films.

I am very impressed with the 10bit H.265 codec in the S1. It looks laughable because of the small file sizes and bitrate (72mbit H.265 = 144mbit H.264) but actually it's surprisingly close to the look of ProRes on my BMPC4K. It also looks less compressed than Sony's 100Mbit codec and more in keeping with a good 140Mbit H.265 4K file... That is close to 10bit ProRes Proxy in terms of the compression (Proxy is 150Mbit in 4K 25p)... But as it's not an ALL-I codec, it doesn't need as high a bitrate to look as good.
Try it, and you will be surprised.
S1 beats the BMPC4K for sensor size and lowlight... not to mention powering the damn thing... and all the extra stuff you get like the massive high res EVF and 5 axis IBIS.

But she has done that in the past without burning entire cities and killing thousands of innocents in what was essential demolition porn with the C4 explosive buff Drogon suddenly received.
My biggest gripe is how lazy and sloppy they have been with basic continuity, basic character arcs, and history EVEN INSIDE THEIR OWN SHOW. It’s almost like they forgot what they even wrote in Seasons 1-7.
I have no problem with Dany slipping into madness and killing everyone. I do have problem with the utter lazy, sloppy, convenient writing they did to just get it done. This season was so in effective in getting me to actually care what happens to the characters (something they did so well in past seasons) that it just comes off as almost malicious ineptitude. Especially around the Night King, Jamie, Jon, Dany, the power of the Dragons, and Euron. Oh, Euron!
Euron is perhaps the most weakly, misrepresented character to ever be created. He exists solely to save D&Ds lacks of skill in wiring something compelling, makes sense, and has emotional impact.
”Man, how do we write this to make sense and resonate with the audience.”
    ”I don’t know man”
”Lets just have Euron teleport in, go all OP, and then peace out cause it’s to hard for us to write something compelling”.
    ”Awesome Idea!”
Hopefully their work becomes a lesson on NOT what to do in writing stories.

Haha! So true! The first seasons were a great mix of medieval history with a spice of fantasy but then the thing went downhill very fast.
What happened to the Snakes? They created a whole chapter that didn't exist in the books for no reason at all. That went nowhere like so many sub stories, and suddenly, the few that have left are going to the North, to various castles and we are never going to see them again, while some crazy fools go down to King's Landing that something random will happen.
It seems to me that Benioff and CO, are just lucky to have the parents (his father is Stephen F£€$ing Friedman, for - his - God's shake! ) they have, and that gives them ultimate success, just because..when they had to do their part, failed miserably (also check Weiss's early tries, most of them were cancelled projects!). Benioff took one of the most established and influential storys of all time - the Iliad - and turned it into a mindless thing called Troy. How can you mess that? It is been studied and told for thousands of years!
    Welcome to Hollywood..

Just dreadful. Not a fan of her, but Dany deserved better. Her fall into the role of mad queen feels out of nowhere (we had one foreshadowing thus far?). Tyrion seems determined to be useless till the end. Bran's tuned out. And the dialogue was sooo tedious.

A lot of complaints of the latest episode being too dark for a lot of viewers. Hopefully not for this crowd. Watching it on my monitor in a darkened room, It wasn't much of a problem. But I can't remember the last time a color grade became the news. I do love the often painterly quality of the light in this show (although I do wish there was a bit more punch with the contrast).

They also changed it to using floating point instead of integer values. For those not familiar with computer science, a floating point is a number which is divided into 2 parts. The one part has a certain amount of bits to represent "how many zeros" there is in the number (or the exponent), while the rest of the bits are used to represent a certain number of decimals.
An example: The number 1234567890 would usually be represented just as it is. In floating point it could be represented by 1.23456*10^9 by only storing the 7 first digit and the exponent 9.
If they use 24 bits to represent the precision and 8 bits to represent the exponent, they will get the same precision as with normal 24 bit recording, but they would get the same precision whether the number was small or large and they would get a much larger value range.
    For more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-precision_floating-point_format
How well using floating point numbers works in reality is a whole other matter, and the only way to find out is to test it.

SR reacted to KnightsFan in Zoom F6 - game changer?
@SR It's absolutely a big deal, but primarily for non-pros. I believe what @kye is saying is that Zoom didn't do anything particularly difficult--it's not like they completely redesigned how the circuitry works. It's similar to the dual channel recording feature many recorders have had for years, except that it merges the two files automatically into a 32 bit file, instead of giving you two 24 bit files that you can manually splice if you so desire.
But it's absolutely a useful feature, especially for one man bands who don't have enough eyes to watch the camera and the audio meters at the same time, or for ultra low budget projects (like mine) who employ non-pros without much experience.
The dynamic range of the audio file should increase dramatically.

32 bit 48kHz is exactly twice the file size of 16 bit 48kHz, not including the negligibly small amount for metadata.
