I'm trying out a new "no sliders" interface, using a "touch pad" area to "push adjustments", and I would love some feedback.

The goal is that by removing the information about "how much correction is applied", the user focuses on the actual image-result.
Hopefully, it's also easier to adjust, especially when using a touch-screen device.
 

Yes the whole point of ML for me, is that the images are artistic, low-fi, messed-up, film like, amazing to grade... The opposite of modern 8K digital.
No matter how good our expensive full frame mirrorless cameras get, there will always be a place for a ML raw video or Digital Bolex Super 16

Yeah! EOS M50 with Magic Lantern would be insane. But it doesn't look like it'll be completed any time soon. By the time it finishes, there will probably be cameras out from Sony/Panasonic that can shoot 10K lol. The new Panasonic SH1 is introduced with 6K and 14 Stops of Dynamic Range and then there is an 8K Camera to be released. I'm still loving the upscaled to 4K footage from the outdated ML Cameras LOL. 

The Z6 has not beaten the GH5 by any stretch of the imagination. Hell the Z6 can't even do 10 bit in camera, No F Log without a recorder, 29 minute recording time, no Waveform Monitor, on and on, no Anamorphic at all. Get real.

That is with a Canon 1.6x crop camera, you get different results with different formats and more particularly, changing the subject distance from 100m also changes the DOF a fair bit even 10m either way and the greater the distance away from that, the bigger the variation in DOF.
 
I have an old Tamron adaptall 70-350 constant f4.5 lens.    This was a very expensive lens in its day but does not use any ED/LD or fluoro elements and so is not as good as modern lenses but while rare, can be found pretty cheap on Ebay if you are lucky (and don't mind the occasional purple fringing).    I hardly use it though as the Tamron adaptall 300 2.8 is much better.

You can say that again!!!, add DPAF to this monster and I am all in, but how it is right now, I am out, I need something for one man crew, a focus puller is not included in my budget, and DPAF is the most important, I don't need out of focus 6K footage.....I need something that I can actually use.

What I don’t understand is why the major manufacturers are allowing BlackMagic to be the only kid in town to offer internal ProRes/Raw in a DSLR/M form factor and why 4K 60p in 10 bit is considered a dream camera when it can be had for $1300?.

I actually have very similar feelings to yours. IMO their mistakes are:
- pricing 
- religious denial of PDAF 
- lenses size, pricing and general closness of L-mount standart (why the hack didn't they open it like MFT?) 
- no real breakthrough tech - built-ND, global shutter, 4k 120p, raw, etc
- no flip out screen on specific cine model?? 

So.. the rumors were correct - no NDs, no PDAF (dont even bother), no flip-screen.. nothing really important.. just 6k 24p and 4k60p.. at 4 GRAND$$$

Agree, that's what I think also - disaster, chasing just for more money now, losing clear distinctive spirit... even as a cleverer business strategy.

Yeah but you can't sell GH5s for more money than a FF camera is as of now. Even used the GH5s is more than a new FF camera. Panasonic is headed for a disaster doing that stuff. It is only a Very few people that are going to pay that much money. The Fuji XT-3, and now the Canon RS is WAY cheaper, are they better, I don't know, but they are nearly half the price. That is crazy when you look at it as a average consumer.

Getting back on the topic would be good.

There is no perfect camera but you have to give credit to Panasonic for offering so much in an affordable form factor that is the GH5 workhorse.

If you did want to go wireless with your project, Bluetooth might be a bit too short range.
The easiest thing to do would be to use two Arduinos (one with the wiichuck and the other connected to the tripod head) and put one of these HC12 modules on each one.

They are about £4 each and will let you have a wireless serial link between the controller and the head of in excess of 1km as opposed to probably 20-30m of bluetooth.
They are really simple to implement in your code as the library lets you address them exactly as you would a serial port for debugging etc so you should be able to get it up and running in your current sketch really quickly by sending the values from the Arudino with the wiichuck that you would have sent to the controlling pins as data out to the HC12 serial port instead and have the Arduino with the head attached picking them up and actioning them.
Mmmm.....I might even think about making that the 73rd project that I'm simultaneously working on as I've just thought of a way to send camera data to it as well to make a cheap high end PTZ camera.

Question is not screen itself, but staying silence about changing advertised possibility that some or many users are finding competitively/comparatively important for buying decision.

Step 1: apply the plugin

Step 2: select the "Show Mask" box under Skin Mask

Step 3: connect another node like this, then apply adjustments in the second node:

As you can see it's not perfect, but this is probably a bad example and I didn't try at all to refine it, and there are lots of mask refinement adjustments in the Face Refinement plugin.
Bonus Tip: you can do this with any node that has a "show mask" feature.  I've done it with the EdgeDetect plugin, for example to soften only particularly harsh edges, etc.  Lots of potential using this method to get highly stylised effects that no single plugin can do by itself.

I'm still surprised by my sigma 18-35, it's the most versatile of all ? close up or wide view.. no problem

That's why the P4k can't replace my GH5 - but maybe a future GH6 will replace the P4k......

This is why I disagree when people try to compare the GH5 to the P4K - they are different types of cameras.  Funnily enough, the GH5 is a video camera, and the P4K is just what the name says - a cinema camera
