Very very nice work! Thanks a lot, it's a treasure for all of us anamorphic diggers!
By the way, I have two questions if you don't mind:
    - did you remove Elmoscope II from database?
    - it looks like you think there's an optical difference between Kowa 8-z/16H & Kowa Bell & Howell. But they are both Prominar labelled. Is this "B&H quality control" a web legend or not? I mean Kowa is Kowa, japanese handmade excellence (still today). I really try to understand this price difference. For me they optically look same, don't they?
    Thanks!

    Hello all,
Tito has kindly allowed me to do some streamlining of the Lens-yclopedia database:
I have templatized all the entries so key information is in the same location when you cycle through the pages. The template improves overall readability of the information. I've broken up Mounting Solutions into To Filter, To Taking Lens, and Lens Support I’ve changed the Index to a spreadsheet that provides key stats for easy ‘comparison shopping’ I’ve removed a couple lens entries that had no (or next to no) information. I've added a few bits of info on various lenses as I went through, particularly links to example footage. I’ve made significant updates to the B&H and B&L entries based on the info I gathered from EOSHD, as well as other locations. I'll keep adding to them as I embark on modding/using my lenses. Check out the updated Lens-yclopedia here. A great big huge thanks to Tito for allowing me to build on his great work.  And to all the folks who have responded to my info-seeking posts.  The information people have provided here has been invaluable for a newcomer like me.
I was surprised at how much info I was able to find on the B&L, I cited sources in the Lens-yclopedia entry where I could - I would love to see all entries given source/reference links. I know people’s time is limited, but even just a morsel of info here & there would really help re-invigorate the database and make it more robust.  A little crowd-sourcing can go a long way!
I am considering periodically starting ‘Seeking Info About X Lens” threads to build up the other lens entries in the Lens-cyclopedia.  If this is something you would like to see (or help me with), please chime in.
If you want to send info my way (corrections, answers to red question marks, Lens-yclopedia functionality, etc), I will find time to update the database appropriately.
    Cheers,

    B&H modification plan:
Remove front element from B&H front housing Make a partial cast of the front housing using RTV silicone rubber Make a black polyurethane cast from the RTV mold. Polyurethane is rated Shore D 75 (same rigidity & strength as a hard hat) Get a M52 helicoid Make a partial cast of the M52 helicoid Make a polyurethane cast of the helicoid from the RTV mold Measure, file, and sand both polyurethane parts, bond them together to create new front housing Add B&H front element to M52 helicoid using rubber o-rings, screw helicoid into new front housing Screw the final product into the B&H anamorphic housing. Pray that it works
    Steps 1, 2, and 4 are complete.

Will attempt step 3 once the mold has set.

Pretty much every scene from Die Hard. Makes for a good drinking game - every time you see a lens flare, drink two fingers of vodka. You will be on the floor after 30 mins.

This is really hilarious. What a blunderous end to the saga! I had to return to the forum just to express my amusement.
I've written a quick, very basic set of instructions on how to enable V-Log on my own blog (before I saw the Reddit link).

I was wandering around a Chinese filmmaking forum and someone said that he found a bug in the firmware 2.3 and unlocked V-log L for free.
So I came back home and tried. It really worked. Just did a test shot with Hugo in the sofa and loaded it in resolve with the Vlog lut and did a little adjustment. Here are the before and after frames.

It doesn't necessarily, but i if you're doing something staged like narrative, size & form factor might not be as big a deal as if you were shooting something where the camera rig had to be more light & nimble, like a documentary or event coverage.
I use an el cheapo Fotga DP3000 follow focus.  There are better products out there, but it is small, reasonably sturdy and fit my budget,

no i dont focus with the B&L at all just the back lens. B&L does not focus i been trying to focus or defocus while spinning the front of the lens but no effects is noticed curvature of the pillar is bad its defiantly due to  modification i have never seen anything like this on my image i would get edge to edge sharpens and clarity.
Tips i would not modified the lens at all just to be safe i was thinking but decided not to.
I have some videos but they are someplace in my 3tb HD have to dig but here are some videos i found
https://vimeo.com/72174387   in this one i believe he is using close up filters since lens focuses to 12 ft to infinity

This  was my first lens and it was dam good lens when it comes to quality its right up there with ISCO i head sankor  many other small anamorphic lenses but they cant match sharpness and quality of this lens its not video sharp like never projection lenses but has that film softens its unique. What i love with this lens i can use 35mm lenses and up. you can even cut it in half and use 24mm and up. And best thing is that i only focused with one lens. I have kowa for B&H but its pain in the ass to focus. Its noit havey just some pople are lazy to do the work if you do the work you will get some beautiful images out of it

The B&L lens I owned before is not focusable.  The focus ring is fake.
I would say for the same price lens to me with similar size/weigh, ISCO HD attachment has 10 times better.  There  was a sample picture I posted before: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/8047-need-help-on-anamorphic-lens/

Also, a hat-tip to Ian for pointing out the Angenieux diopters, I picked up a set for my 12-120mm. Cheers!

New old stock! $100 - 5 sets left. I got one.

    Angenieux +0.25? - 82mm thread. I could be wrong and no.1 is about +1,25 and the no.2 is about +2 ***?
No vignetting & very little CA, if any. Its a singlet, so it will only sharpen up the image a little (not as much as a doublet). As you can see it gives me the full focus range on the Isco 54, which was unexpected - Bioskop.Inc
The same as the one used in this test, I hope. It would be interesting to know how this would work  in front of SRL Magic Range finder, which has 82mm front thread.

My Antares finderscope clamp arrived today and it fits great:

Here I reversed the bracket, which puts the base at the end that joins the taking lens.  However, this makes the unit nose-heavy:

I think it's best to have it clamped the other way around as in the previous pictures - adding stability to the end that gets the most vibration/movement (from focusing).  The top screws can be used to help visually align the anamorphic, too.  As mentioned, I'll have have to do do some modding to flatten the rail base, but I am very encouraged by the results!  All in all, $37 well-spent, I think!
