The youtuber Mrwhosetheboss had demonstrated a very interesting holographic 3D design by some cheap DIY hack. It shouldn't be too difficult to replicate that with a screen having distinctively raised corners, square in shape with thick glass.
If it can do 4k 10-bit 4-2-2 video, it would be the First Smartphone to be able to pull it off and for that alone a lot of filmmakers would pick up one. Even if it has the Sony IMX477 sensor which is a 1/2.3" sensor, it would be good enough.
Having 10bit JPEG type HEIF photos and 10-bit 4-2-2 video alone is huge in a smartphone.
Right now, those twin cameras in the phone look strangely like those on Moto Phones.

They seem to have a vision for it to be a bona fide retail product to compete with the iPhone and top end Androids so they'll need to start ordering up some industrial quantities of that Kool Aid they currently use for communion
How much extra value (i.e. free stuff) they throw at the other modules is going to be proportional to how much compelling content (and improvement in performance) they can pull together for when it properly launches. If the hologram stuff just doesn't wow enough they'll need to pivot it into the cinema camera aspect being the selling point otherwise it could just bomb as a system completely. When I see people on Reduser who are invested in it and desperately want it to live up to the hype saying its more or less reminiscent of a Nintendo 3DS as an experience then I do worry what the reaction to it is going to be from the average consumer to it if it doesn't blow them away.
I am barred from 02 after a "misunderstanding" about a very large bill in 1996 so I wouldn't worry on that score.
Its when I say I'm in Cash Converters looking at one for £199 that you need to be concerned

As someone less than politely pointed out on the other thread, I appear to have been a bit of a lazy arse in the almost 12 months since I tripped over and found the Cinelike d thing.
You may recall it happened because I was researching making a hardware controller and after several iterations, here it finally is.

And yes, it does look rather like a calculator doesn't it?
The different iterations (including an Android app at one point!) have been in pursuit of making something small, standalone, self powered, fast connecting, push buttons and with an integrated screen at a lowish cost and, well, here we are.
Here is the finished spec and features :
Compatible with all Panasonic Lumix cameras that can be controlled by wifi Integrated USB rechargeable battery Full colour screen 20 keys with 3 bank switch keys giving 60 direct switch operations of functions Control of Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed, White Balance, Colour Profile, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness and Noise Reduction. Automatic unlocking of Cinelike D and Cinelike V on GX80/85, LX10/15 and TZ10 Control of manual focus in fine and coarse steps  Control of One Shot AF Control of Record Stop/Start Store and Recall 8 focus points 4 selectable transition speeds between focus points Store and Recall 8 setup presets (each consisting of Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed, White Balance, Colour Profile, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness and Noise Reduction) Presets are stored in non-volatile memory so are available in any session. Boot time to camera connection and control under 2 seconds. Wifi control range tested to 20m. Optional accessories :
Interface module to support Nintendo Nunchuck controller for manual focus control (native lenses and adapted lenses with smart adapters) and zoom (integrated lens cameras and power zoom lenses only) Wireless interface module to sync remote record and stop on supported Tascam, Zoom and SoundDevices audio recorders.  The controller fits a regular cheap cellphone to threaded adapter holder so as well as being used handheld it can be mounted to anything you have a need for with the right attachment so could be on a cage or a gimbal or whatever.

I'm going to be doing some more testing of it in anger in the next couple of weeks and I'll put up a video of it in action then.
So, I have been a bit less lazy than first imagined
By the by, the controller has both wifi and bluetooth so it begs the question would anyone be interested in a version of it for the Pocket 4K ??

You sum it up pretty well. Thanks for reminding people how simple life was before people ask demanding things out of the given timetable.
I am not sure if people realise how important are the graduation exams for educational systems such these. It definitelly influence at least the next -and probably most productive - decade of our lives, and for some, the rest of their lives.
People having at least a university degree, understand for sure.

    Facts:
    A. The RAW hack is real or not.
    B. The RAW hack will be revealed April 1 or not.
    C. Based on previous hacks, the work completed by others that benefits all NX1 owners will likely cost nothing. Just like NX-KS2 or MagicLantern. Both of which I am personally VERY grateful for.
Honestly -- please, please stop demanding proof, fabricating conspiracy theories, frankly being a cyber bully to a stranger, shut up and wait.
Until April 1, I know for certain that reading this forum (especially after PAGES of all this pointless drama) is no priority for me.
Leave the stranger offering a promising hack (real or not) alone. Observe outcome. Rejoice/lament said outcome. Move forward.
I personally try not to be a dick about free things to those offering free things before they finish free things that might otherwise no longer be free had I chosen instead to be a dick.

I really don't understand the aspect of anyone referring to this as some sort of scam.
If he starts asking you to send money via Western Union then fair enough but until that happens, what is the issue?
Irrespective of that, I completely understand why @Arikhan is taking his time with this anyway.
Last year, I made a small discovery while looking to build a hardware controller for Panasonic cameras and let everyone know how to do that aspect of it with a simple webpage.
Within days, the "Hey guys whats up..." vloggers were on YouTube showing everyone 'their' hack for Panasonic cameras.
Was I bothered about not being credited? Only by the brazen cheek of it to be honest but the bigger problem was the amount of disinformation it produced which I then had to spend a lot of time on here dealing with, which completely distracted the effort for what I was trying to do in the first place.
    And what of that controller?
Well, it had to be back burnered when I had some real projects to do but what has really stalled it is trying to make it into something people can just get parts for off the shelf and have it work without any effort or confusion.
Functionally, it has been working for months and I could give you all a parts list and some code now and you could have it but it wouldn't be slick enough and bomb proof for me to be comfortable with everyone sourcing the parts and building it themselves.I'm now on my third different hardware platform to make it viable in a turnkey way because I know for a fact that even from just handing out the simple Cinelike D webpage hack that you are making a rod for your own back when it goes into the wild if you don't.
So, the bottom line is that whilst its perfectly fine for me (and probably quite a few people on here) to go and buy a single board computer, flash some code on it, wire some switches to it, put it in a matchbox with a couple of AA batteries and have it controlling my camera, it is not going to be cool when I then try and offer that up for everyone to do themselves.
It really is not worth the grief you open yourself up for, particularly when as with both my project and @Arikhan 's are not intended for financial gain.
Even when its for free, the entitlement game is strong with many people.
Now, what he is doing is many orders of magnitude more complex than my silly little controller, so he has to make sure the technique is 100% bullet proof before he reveals it because while he might be perfectly fine in doing what needs to be done (both in terms of a mod and any consequential workflow) it will be another kettle of fish entirely when the "Hey guys, whats up..." vloggers get hold of it and pass it on (and pass it off as their own) to the general public.
They'll get the fame if it works and @Arikhan will get the blame if it doesn't.
Getting something to work is one thing but getting it to work for everyone else without a lot of hand holding is something entirely different and takes time.
Again, I think people would be well advised to re-read his original comments about this, which he has re-iterated in subsequent ones, about it being perfect for his application and manage their expectations.

Likewise. It's also getting ridiculous, especially if you don't even own the camera anymore or ever. I'm actually getting disheartened by the whole ordeal.
If its real, it's real, if not oh well. I refuse to troll anyone let a lone a kid over it. I'm going to advise him to stop posting replies until go time, it's obviously not doing him any favors. Andrew says a few words and you all go into a frenzy. Really?
Arikhan doesn't even have to prove anything, he could keep it all for himself, but his motivation is he wants to give back to this community in particular. As the author of the Samsung petition I know a little something about this. There was never any gaurantee it would work, but at least I gave it a shot.
My hope is he will look past the antics of some here and follow through regardless.
@lucabutera Its in your best interest more than anyone else here to show support for this kid, as you have some adapters to sell? If this mod is legit it's you that will benefit the most. Your attitude here is confusing to me.

The kid is not holding anybody else's money, he will either deliver on his own time when he's good and ready, or he won't and we can all go back to our regularly scheduled activities. Brow beating and bear baiting is not going to change anything. I agree it was probably a strategic mistake to start posting about this before it was completely done, but that's understandable given his age and probable level of excitement.

If  @Arikhan is completely serious, I want in on the hacking as well. I'm an EE student as well and have been writing embedded firmware for stuff like SSD's, so this linux-based camera is so freaking cool to me. I've been on this forum on and off for like 2 years now. Recently I started looking again for an NX1 with S Lens on Craigslist and Ebay and I can't find any good deals. Been deciding between GH5, Ursa Mini, and NX1 for semi-pro use, but would love to get an NX1 so that I could try writing some hacks.
Been slowly trawling through @Otto K's github repo and a good amount makes sense but the some of the setup instructions don't (I think they will once I have a camera and start digging through the menus).
    Anyone see any good deals?

Seems interesting. I wish Kinefinity would come out with a pocket camera. If it were cheap enough, I’d definitely give it a try... and maybe a direct competitor for BM would give them a kick in the ass to develop a pocket 2 or lowering the price of the original.
