Mattias Burling reacted to ricardo_sousa11 in Shutter Speed NX1
Well, it seems that the problem was fixed by switching to PAL and keeping 25,50,100 shutter speed !
Now theres one thing bugging me is that, when im filming 4k 24p (aside form the liveview being very choppy, but I think thats normal ?!) when Im filming, it seems to show much more contrast than after the video has been recorded (even playing back form the viewfinder), is that some sort of setting ? It makes it harder to expose correctly, having the higher contrast makes me believe shadows will be too dark, when in fact they arent.

It has alot of quirks. But it also a 4k APS-C sensor for very little money compared to the competition in a small and compact body.

Mattias Burling got a reaction from Oliver Daniel in Who will break the interenal 10 bit hybrid barrier?
I recently learned that when a person is angry and worked up brain cells are physically deteriorating.
Which means that when you're mad, you are literally self destructing.
Worth it over bit rate?

Announcement is scheduled for August 10th. The price should be around 2500$.

Frank Glencairn has them for testing and says that it is a brand new optical design not just rehoused old optics.

Exactly, not getting the Mini is probably a better way to cure GAS.

Hobbyists benefit from accurate and pleasing skin tone color by not having to deal with LUTs, which are very specialized and only work as intended with a known input color space and proper levels.
For professional paid work, we don't want to waste time color correcting inaccurate+unpleasing colors from the camera. Time is money. Also very important is showing clients straight-from-camera footage. For pleasing skintones, Sony looks comparatively terrible compared to Canon, Nikon, BM, even Panasonic. It's really puzzling since the F35 and F65 look so amazing (but not the F55, F5, FS7, FS700, A7 series and so on). In controlled situations, the F55 (even FS7) can look very close to the Alexa using LUTs, however in practice folks still choose Alexa over F55 etc. if they have a choice.
At the high end the ARRI cameras (Alexa, Amira) have class-leading accurate and pleasing skintones, so hiring a colorist isn't needed. For episodic TV, fast high quality production is very important. For film production, colorists are hired to help set the mood and tell the story, not so much to fix broken color from market trailing color science cameras (which won't be used very often except perhaps as crash cams or other limited-use specialized applications).
Since Sony works closely with Nikon, why not license Nikon's color science for these cameras? Perhaps that's a question for Nikon ;). Color science is the most valuable element of a digital camera.

New lens days are the best days
A MIR-11 so I can get close ups with my Bayonet K3 as well as my M42 Model. Won't cover the "s16" gate but still worth it for the focus distance.

Nope. If you're stuck in that loop, another camera is not going to get you out of it.

I bought a Lexar too, the CFast 2.0 cards work "right out of the box" and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have less trouble than I had. In comparison to what I paid for the Sony SxS PRO+ cards for my larger camera, even CFast 2.0's are a steal ;).

Its not a Macro but the m42 Jena 35mm f2.8 has a close focus of almost nothing, the ND bumps the subject if I have the Xume adapters on.
Since its m42 you can also unscrew it and get closer (works on your 50mm as well).
On my 10mm C-Mount I can unscrew and literally have the subject touching the glass.

It is a good price. The lens is sweet! Very low contrast and kind to colors compared to some of my vintage 50mm. Love the wide but short design as well.
What mount was it?
(mine was $12)

Picked up a Tessar Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm 2.8 lens today for 20 euros at a Berlin market, perfect condition. Think that's a pretty good price, pretty stoked by how solid it feels. And it is sharp. REALLY sharp.

Not to mention prices on cameras. The latest and greatest people are talking about is $3000.
If one instead where to keep the current camera. That $3000 would give a K3 plus 40 rolls of bought, developed and scanned 16mm Kodak Vision. IF you buy them 4 at a time. Buy 40 at once and you get it much cheaper.
Then one can use the "old" camera for youtube, gigs and what not. And shoot that special project, short film, sisters wedding or what have you on actual film.
That was atleast my thinking when the a7rii was announced. I thought "man $3000, I might as well start to shoot film". That also helped me to decide when needing a camcorder. No need for it to be cinematic or "film look". The film has plenty of that
I'm waiting on the first batch from the labb. After that there will be some videos including a guide on how to shot film for free, yes free.

Still haven't had time to shoot anything for more than 30 min. Hopefully next week.
So I took it for a quick run when I went to the store.
Wanted to see how the XC10 worked under really bright conditions in C-Log using just the built in ND.
The C-Log has a base of ISO500.
No highlights where blown when making this video.

Did lots of lens tests today during our morning walk. Haven't edited, will probably use it for a review. But I puled some frame grabs.
Closest Focus at 24 mm (20 cm)
Closest Focus at 240 mm (50 cm)
240mm Lets you keep distance (but of course less background).
"Shallow" depth of field 24 mm f2.8
"Shallow"depth of field 80ish mm f4.0
"Shallow" depth of field 240mm f5.6

Got the WiFi going so I could instagram from the XC10. It's OK imo.
I use mainly film for stills or my full frame A7ii. But if I'm out with the XC10 and see something worth capturing it will do fine.
For journalistic work it's well beyond good enough.
