DPR interview says dual quad cores for processing data, 2x RAM of E-M1
With all this processing power, seems like they could handle full readout of the sensor, but full readout is conspicuously absent from announcements

There is no sensor crop for both UHD and Cinema 4K unless you activate digital stabilisation in addition to 5-axis IS (8% crop).
Continuous AF will be available with the same features as for stills. You can vary the exposure while recording.

They're so clever at Panasonic and Olympus... At each iteration of the flagship model I hope I'll only need one, but every time I can see a good reason to buy both.

How I wish we could get a EM1mkGH5, Olympus' 5-axis kills it. Can't wait for SOOC video samples.
    Want.

The Em1mkII has 121 cross type PADF points and a touch screen, should be able to pull focus in a manner similar to Canon's dual pixel - something Panasonic's DFD cannot achieve. Olympus claims a much faster readout for less rolling shutter.
For handheld work I'd much prefer IBIS and PADF over a gimbal. The tracking on the a6300 absolutely blows anything DFD out of the water, its just a PITA to move the focus point if your subject isn't a person. YMMV.
10-bit external out of the GH4 wasn't a dramatic improvement for basic corrections, we'll see what the new cam brings. I'm not buying 1+ stop improvement claims, since no m43 camera has come close to that and we've already seen what the sensors are capable of in current cameras.
Its nice to have options though.

I bought an EM5 MK II based on the video specs as soon as it came out and, while it was a lovely camera for stills, never once used it to film anything other than tests because the moiré was so bad. This time I'm going to wait for real-life user reviews to come in first.

As puzzling as it is to release a top spec'd A-mount camera, I commend Sony for STILL supporting a legacy mount, and rewarding long-term users with a current body.
Samsung could learn a thing or two from this practice!

    Great piece.
The hashtag, I agree, is a bit awkward. Trump is capitalized in the hashtag. My first interpretation was Trump as a noun using  Yoda grammar (verb in the wrong place). The video doesn't ever use Trump as a verb. The refrain that is constantly repeated is "we believe".
A good slogan is one that is clear and not open to misunderstanding. I can just imagine Trump followers calling his opponents haters because of the hashtag.

Shot this on the red one mx -

The Red One MX - dynamic range is not there, but it has a look, some kind of unique look - not like film, not like the alexa, but it's own look - older but its there - something nice, kind of like the what's that camera from China - the Kinefiniti

shot with red zoom lensses - 18-50 + 50=150 plus ultra contrast 1 - man that flares nicely.
ultra con gives such amazing flares - where have you been my whole life.
So screw new cameras, get an old used camera and mess around with it.
    shot at 640 ISO, 4.5k , and that's it
11 stops dynamic range, 10 stops?  who knows, who cares.
it works - it doesn't overheat.  it doesn't shoot slo motion unless you crop it but the motion cadence feels right, not like a videogame like the dragon or weapon or slimer new camera they have.
find its weaknesses, find its strengths and shoot some stuff.
don't be afraid to go into the past and be made fun of, and who cares, just work with your camera as best as you can, and make mistakes constantly and try to get better.
lord knows how i screwed this one up, i should have done more wideshots and had more variety of poses of people

Reading Andrew's article - it seemed to suggest the sensor is APS-C/Super 35 - or did he mean "with the speedbooster".
It would be really REALLY cool if Panasonic had a doubled-the-bitrate H265 option in there. H265 turned out to be a great feature in the NX, once the world caught up.

About firmware update ILCE6300 V1.10 : updates that are not described in the release note and probably Sony does not like to speak about:
What I describe here affects the camera when used together with
a: Auto-Focus Mount Adapter EF-NEX for Canon EF lenses to Sony NEX Mount
    and/or
    b: speedbooster (in green mode).
1.Camera set at : Movie mode and setting: movie/hfr>aperture priority
Supposing you have a lens with f=2,8 on the adapter.
    a. Firmware v1.00 (previous): While you turn the dial knob to set the aperture (e.g. at desired  f=11) you read the desired value on the screen but in fact the aperture will stay at 2,8. It will be really set at the moment you press the REC button (and you will hear the slight noise of the  aperture blades). So there is no way to have depth of field preview.
    b. Firmware v1.10 (new): While you turn the dial knob to set the aperture (e.g. at desired  f=11) the aperture blades are set real time. So before you press the REC button, you have depth of field preview.
So with the new firmware there is a different way in handling the aperture during movie mode: The real aperture value is now set before you press the REC button.
    2. On my previous comment on March 2016 at the link:
    http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/19110-sony-a6300-4k/?do=findComment&comment=137969
I describe a firmware V1.00 bug that: PAL switched to NTSC a6300 camera would not set the correct aperture on 24p movie modes.
This bug was fixed with the new firmware.

Hope my notes will help some people.

    Hi!
It's one of my first posts here but not the funniest I guess…
I'm not especially talking about a magic C-lens in particular here but about a very underestimated question: radioactive lenses!
One of my friends is a fireman captain and introduced me yesterday to one of his colleagues specialized in technological risks and chemical dangers (at Poissy, France : they're known to have very great equipments.) We made 3 different tests on all my Russian lenses which are all OK excepted the Mamiya Sekor 55mm f1.4 (M42).
    Here are the results:
From 5 to 10 µSV per hour (by direct touch), and 1720 shocks per second.
    Element involved is Thorium 232.
They told I really shouldn't keep it. Work with it more than one hour is dangerous. It must be gifted to specialized services and absolutely not be destroyed! Or thrashed! The most dangerous exposure isn't even radiations but dusts to inhalate or ingerate (when a lens gets old it disaggregates - it's something you can't always clearly see).
I'm lucky cause until today I kept it in my basement.
So, say it please to your friends and all potential Mamiya/Takumar users that you know via websites etc, it's a strong matter of health.

Thanks one and all for your feedback, I will follow up on some of your tips. I think I resigned myself in the first ten minutes that I would never see all the gear again. To answer one question, yes I think there are highly organised gangs in France that know how to target people. I may have even been followed as a lone driver when driving my motorhome from Italy to Portugal through southern France. I stopped for the night at a truck stop and was robbed while I was fast asleep in the middle of the night. I kid you not, they broke into the camper through the passenger door by forcing the lock and must have had a torch. I am usually a fairly light sleeper, I did not hear a thing probably because I was exhausted from driving the day before. They got credit cards, passport and cash as well. One would not think to take precautions when "safely" locked in the van but people are becoming more devious and desperate these days, so all travelers have to be prepared "as if". I usually hide my camera bag under a storage seat but left it in my wardrobe that night. I left my wallet and passport in my shorts on the seat, they should have been taken out and hidden away. Even experienced travelers like myself for the past 20 years can get caught out by letting your guard down for a moment. Now I strap up my front doors with rubber straps, so even if they forced the locks, it would be impossible to open the doors. If I had woken up and disturbed them, who knows what might have happened if they were armed so I figure I got off lightly.

The lack of touch screen is unforgiveable.
For all the people that moan that pros don't need a touch screen in models like the A7 and RX series, seeing Dan Chung's News Shooter touch screen demo clearly illustrates the focus pulling-like capabilities a touch screen offers.
What's the point of having state-of-the-art PDAF without having easy access to focus point selection?
