Apparently we are only 15 years away from commercially viable nuclear fusion reactors. Funny, but when I went on a tour of the Joint European Torus 35 years ago they said we were about 15-20 years ago from commercially viable nuclear fusion reactors then too. 

Then it makes sense for Samsung to expand in the camera market.
To sell higher-priced models to the millions of customers using their low-end cameras - i.e. smartphones.
It is not about the existing size of the market as measured by CIPA.
It is about the potential size in the future.

Maybe he is going away over Easter with his parents on a holiday to a remote part of the world?!

Why not wait a day? I think it is ballsy of him to email Andrew directly if he didn't have at least something to show. Unless he is a downright lier. It might be that he just needs a bit more time perfecting the settings. Who knows. 

Not that this is a democracy or anything but I think we should let this drama play out... it’s only a day.
With that being said, now the kid won’t be available for 3 days to answer any questions... a little too convenient.
And with that being said... I don’t think the kid is lying. I think he found something but it’s a fudge more than it is true Raw recording.

Andrew, I thought he meant he'd be offline for months when I first read this post.  Then, I realized he is using european date/time so it's only 3 days. No biggie. I vote to allow him to continue.

they are not coming with anything, this rumor is based on the rumors we have mentioned here already. It is amazing in the era of social media and "always-on-line" how rumors and fake news travel, and become a reality!
IF, and I say, IF ever try to make an NX2, I am sure it will be the most heavy spec-ed and future proof camera ever built!

It's fine and normal to be sceptical...But after reading some postings of this thread, you will come to the conclusion of "lynch mob". 
As said, NOW I do this for my integrity in the eyes of people knowing my identity. That's all. My interest in sharing my EXPERIENCE and HowTo is completely gone.

I only started this as separate thread to raise awareness of the possible advancement for other NX1 owners.  As an owner, anything that potentially enhances the image or adds to the experience, I am all for.
It is sad we will not know definitively if this was a real development or not.  Perhaps it would be best for Andrew to kill this thread and let any further announcements come through a proper post on the site.
 
 

I do not disagree, and I know a lot of people care for raw, but it is 27th of March here, if only we could wait for just 4 days, and If only we were that civilized a few days ago!
I am a "little" older than you, and I have learned that people react differently under pressure, and we do not know other people's limits, and what is eating them, especially here that we do not even know each other!
Anyways, that was it. I do not think there is anything else left.

I have posted numerous times about how I do NOT care for any kind of raw, I had a 5DmkII staying idle for years and didn't try it, I couldn't care less for raw in my workflow, and I would never shot a feature film or a short with this camera. Plenty of other and better options around.
I, personally, didn't get what was all the fuzz about, why people had to "push" this individual to his limits, and why it was even a big deal?
He said something, he gave a timeline - on his own, without even anyone asked about it - and that was it. I don't get, why he had to be proven right, or wrong. 
In 4 days, we would be able to know, and not even wasting a second of our lives for posting various things here.
That what I was saying here multiple times, with different ways, and I am seriously more curious, why people had to prove him anything, instead of wait, and continue with their lives for 7 (back then) more days, until the "big" announcement.
As I said, I do not even care for raw, especially if I have to open my cameras and do "stuff" to them, or includes any complicated workflow, so I am not even feeling like I lost an opportunity, I am just curious to know what drove all these people's response.
Excitement? Financial benefit? Jealousy? lust (for data!)? lust (for e-blood)?! 

Honestly, Andrew at this point I'd just lock down the thread. There's nothing else to be gained here except more feuding, which is not very communal is it? 
When (and if) I receive those files from Arikhan, I will contact you via DM to launch a new sticky thread with the findings. Any more information after that will be at Arikhan's full discretion outside of eoshd. 
For those of you that showed patience and healthy skeptism, it's been noted. I'm sure Arikhan has no issue sharing with those that showed the spirit of community and civil discourse.

The vertical image is a picture.
- 4K video frame size 4000 x 2160 = Downscaling 1800 x 972.
- UHD video frame size 3840 x 2160 = Downscaling 1800 x 1012.
- Downscaling Picture size 6480 x 4320 = Downscaling 1800 x 1200.
The vertical image he has published is exactly 1800 x 1200!
You can not get a 1800 x 1200 pixel from a 4k or UHD video frame!
He has always claimed to have 25fps raw limit from 4k or UHD video.
In addition to this evidence add that the two photos are different in shape and substance, add that the first frame is clearly a h265, add that he is a kid, add that he is waiting for the first of April, add that he has no reason not to publish a test file, add that he is reading these posts and remains silent.

For me at this point, it just doesn't stack up. I think it's right not to put pressure on the guy though. No ill feelings towards Arikhan.
However we all have had our hopes raised for a while now... and so at this point it's a bit rude not to give some kind of findings that justifies the hype!
Even if it is just stating the bit depth and bit rate of the 4K raw recordings, so we can see that they get written to SD card and what speed of card we need.
It really is not asking for much.
I for one need to decide whether to get behind it with the support of the blog, or whether to ignore it.
Also from an admin's point of view... He's got himself into quite a bit of a position of trust, which as we have seen before on forums, can be dangerous when our trust gets abused. So only right to ask some polite questions... And with respect for potentially a great talent, probe a bit deeper and figure things out.

Arikhan doesn't even have to prove anything, he could keep it all for himself, but his motivation is he wants to give back to this community in particular. As the author of the Samsung petition I know a little something about this. There was never any gaurantee it would work, but at least I gave it a shot. 
My hope is he will look past the antics of some here and follow through regardless.  
@lucabutera Its in your best interest more than anyone else here to show support for this kid, as you have some adapters to sell? If this mod is legit it's you that will benefit the most. Your attitude here is confusing to me.

As far as your question about ISO, why in god's holy name would you want to use ISO 25600? At that level you can kiss resolution and saturation goodbye.

4K 16bit uncompressed RAW at 25 fps needs 422 MB/s. That's megabytes, not megabits. Based on the information we've been given so far the body can handle that, but you can't write that to the SD card, the fastest UHS-II cards can write up to 250-260MB/s continuosly. So you either compress RAW, or lower the number of bits.

Didn't you claim to unlocked 16bit RAW? that is orders of magnitudes greater than 8bit compressed.
Even 10bit RAW vs 8 bit RAW is four times as much information never mind the compression...
I don't know I'm just saying extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and if you are for real extraordinary evidence should be really easy to provide yet you haven't given a single tiny bit.
@Arikhan, the more I think about it the more I am sure you are full of shit... if you did pull this off you at least have one RAW video and despite spending time on here posting you haven't spent the time to upload any proof... common man.
 
Part of me hates the fact that I am even following this thread because I feel like I am being taken for a ride just as much as someone who believes you right out. Then another part of me respects the commitment to the troll lol
