Its been a very long time ago but i produced over 100 30 min TV show episodes with one 3 chip JVC camera and never had a problem with it. Then i moved into Sony DV and DVCPro doing over 100 more shows with that before getting a bum deal on a show i was working on and i sold everything and got of of video and went in to Photography full time for 15 years. Getting back into video i love what is available now and what can be done so easy now.

​Whats wrong with the The RAW stills compression. I dont see anything wrong with it i like the smaller files. I even set all my Nikons to the smaller compressed RAW setting after doing tons of testing the difference is un detectible most everything have been shooting that way for over 7 years never seen a problem in any of the files have shot over 200.000 of them.

Other then better low light shooting i do not see the Sony as any better in any other way,  Both the JVC and NX1 record 4K, And the JVC gives you pro audio, Video streaming and a lot more. I like the JVC for a camera you can go shoot with that has everything built in ready shoot, I have had no problems shooting with my NX1 i have had since December i have well over 100 hours on it the image quality is sharper then the Sony and when you need auto focus the NX1 is much better, and i have no problem with Dynamic Range. And he HD slomo is quite good to at 60 and you have 120 as well.

10 Bit would be nice. Real usable HD out the HDMI port Better HD quality 4k slomo at any speed is better then none Let us pick 264 or 265 or at lest HD in 264 so we do not have to trans code HD. Fix the audio better Focus peaking that you can assign to a button to turn on and off for when using a finder covering the back screen Much better low light focus for both stills and video Raw would be nice but that might be pushing it some for this camera and how much space would that eat up..ouch
Wish list for next version two card slots one for photos and one for video or over flow and much better cleaner low light performance, Two XLR audio inputs or a add on for that that ties right into the camera that is very small and lite.

I went with a Dell 4k monitor that is a 27 inch with 3 year warranty.. Had lots of great reviews for photo editing. was only $550  this will get me by till some of the better ones come out in a year or so. Should be better then MY current NEC and it will be nice to see 4k video from my NX1 for the first time in real 4k.

I did order a D750 should be here tomorrow. This will update my two older D700 cameras and replace the Samsung NX1 for any photo shooting as the NX1 kinda sucks for photography in any low light at all my older 6 year old D700 takes better photos at any iso then the NX1. The NX1 photo quality is more like my even older Nikon D40 6MP camera.
Will do some NX1 D750 HD video tests and want to see how the D750 video compares the NX1 4k all mixed together to see if the 750 can be used as a B camera and the main camera for low light video shooting.
As for the Nikon 24-120 F4 lens the one i have is very sharp i got it when the lens just come out one of the very first batch maybe that is why. I also had the 24-70 2.8 and my 24-120 is every bit as sharp so i sold the 24-70 and the 24-120 f4 almost never is off one of my D700 cams. It also takes very sharp video with my NX1.

I did not have the top dial set to manual it now works when set to manual... Very happy now all is good..

I ordered the 12mm it should be here within a hour or so. I went with it over the 10 when a guy pointed out that with the 10mm the glass on the front sticks out like a dome and you can not add on a filter to that lens with the dome like that so that killed it for me i need to use a ND filter outside in bright light so i ordered the Cine 12mm version.

I like it.
 

My NX500 to be my second to my NX1 will be here tomorrow will have to get out and test it on a sleeping turtle and a shot of my parked car. I only wish it had a good slomo so i could capture some tree leaves blowing to.
 

Is they some way to do a search and set it to show you the newest videos for that search as it opens..
Bugs me that when i do a search it shows all old videos and i have then click on by date to see the new stuff ..can i change that in my account someplace to show the new stuff all the time??
As for it VS youtube the Vimeo quality is so much better i can upload the same video to both and Vimeo is by far much better quality. I hate even watching youtube videos as the quality is so bad on most things. For me most youtube videos are out of focus and yuck looking for around 15 to 30 seconds till it all of a sudden pops in to the better quality it dose this on 3 PC we have here and did it in two other locations we were at on vacation..

I can see using it sometimes but if a camera did not have it but was a great camera it not having slomo would not be a deal breaker for me.

If you think about it for $2245 you can buy the Nibula 4000 for $700 and have $1545 left to buy a small 4k camera like the NX500 or Black magic pocket or the other brand coming out should let you use a NX1 or GH4 all for that same price and more easy and less pounds to deal with. Or get the $400 version and a 4k Gopro for $1000

If it is going to be on TV dose it not have to be legal safe video? just popped both your images into my timeline looking at them with a scope and both of them are not broadcast safe for television. So if you turn it in like that the station will auto crush it before it is broadcast to make it safe so it will look nothing like you graded it like it will most likely be much darker with crushed blacks.
Many times grading can mess up the video making it not safe for broadcast unless you watch a scope as you grade. I see so many videos graded to look a special way on vimeo and youtube but none of them would pass that way to air on broadcast tv at least in the US. I think many film makers starting out never think about that when editing and grading is it safe for TV if my film ever makes it that far. Or that may stop it from making it that far.
 
 

Maybe they could then make the NX1 have 4k cropped 120 slowmo if it is more easy to do that would be nice.

That would suck for taking photos with a on camera flash it would be just off center to give a shadow on walls behind the subject that is the point of having the flash right over the lens to stop any shadows. With this set up even someones own hair would show a shadow then on their own face.
 

I think its funny that people with high priced cameras look at the NX1 as a toy or a joke but the 4k image quality is as good and better then a lot of other cameras out that cost much more.
I would love to see the side by side shots from the FS7 and NX1 i would bet the NX1 is sharper and shows more details that's what i see from all the FS7 videos i have seen.
I would think from low iso settings up to 1600 the NX1 has the better image that takes much less work to get the colors right from the camera and past 1600 the FS7 starts to take over. I would think they are both very equal on how they handle highlights with maybe the FS7 being a little but not a lot better. 
But when you can buy 5 NX1 cameras for the price of one FS7 you sure could use all the extra cash for other things.
Plus the NX1 has many features no other DSLR or ENG style camera has
If anything when they ever have a NX2 out i think that will probably be a dream come true if they can up the iso to match the A7s it all ready beats it for image details, features, video auto focus, 4k recording and price. 

You can buy ND filters that work better then the in camera ones for very little i use one all the time and can dial it in to what i want as i shoot or take it off,  The NX1 is quite good in low light only one i can think of that is better is the Sony A7S that you need another $2000 to be able to record 4K with and still ND filters and XLR., A XLR adapter is only $ 200 to $300. DR dose not seems to be a problem with the NX1 at all. Rolling shutter can be a problem but it is a problem with other cameras as well in 4k and in HD it is not much of a problem at all.
So for $400 you can out fit the NX1 with ND filter and XLR. and buy two of this setup for less or.
Buy one of this set up and buy the Pocket version that will be out soon as a second camera and a smaller lower cost Gimble for it and more lens all for less then what you would pay for that $4500 so you would be able to shoot two cameras and have a gimble and more lens or more lights. That is the direction i am going in. Plus your image quality will be better. And your auto focus when you ever want to use it will be better. The Samsung 16x50 F 2 to 2.8 lens is a very sharp lens and gives you image stabilizing in video that work well, auto focus and focus on and off so you can punch in focus using the camera in a split second then lock that focus much faster then doing it manual or you can do it manual if you need to do a smooth focus from one item to another. Focus peaking also works very good when manual focusing a Samsung lens or other brand lens with adapter on it.
It focus so well i sent back the Fallow focus set up i had got for a refund.
Touch focus on the back screen and it will focus on anything you touch on very good for product or in studio shooting or a live event you need to focus on different things fast it is like having hard stops but on anything you want at any time. You can touch focus and then press a manual focus on to lock that focus in. Lots of cool things this camera can do people do not talk about. You could have the camera on a tripod and be shooting a band or anything and touch focus on any member at any time as you wish with no manual focus needed. The auto focus for flowing a person walking is quite good even with them coming at you. When you want to lock focus on something it is so easy letting the camera do the focus and then locking that focus over doing it manual you can go from one item to the next auto focus lock focus very fast this would be very hard to do manual.
Only down side is the file converting time but you get used to it. I have recorded well over 100 hours now with it. Battery life is ok to.

That video makes the E-M5 II look very good for stabilization i would guess it is better then the NX1 but that video the GH4 looks so much better.
I was shooting today thinking about this wishing i had the E-M5 II just to try out the stabilization i felt like i was getting shaky after some time so i went back to using a tripod.
I tryed to drive and shoot holding the camer up into the froint window today - that did not work out i almost ran off the road into the water..lol I was the only on on the road.
