Ooh, interesting, love me some more native mount Sigmas! The 30mm f/1.4 DC DN is killer, great value. Speaking of price, man, those EX DN 19mm & 30mm f/2.8 were around a hundred bucks each and optically super sound. Build quality however wasn't really something to write home about and the look otherwise wasn't all too exciting though. The DC DN definitely takes that up a notch. Interesting that they would aim for MFT not APS-C/E-mount coverage with a MFT option. Will they be joining the format with a camera of their own?

I really hope this comes to fruition. I will sell the PL 15mm in a second to complete my Sigma holy trinity: 12 f1.4, 30 f1.4 and 60 f2.8. If it is anywhere near as sharp as the existing lenses it will complete the most amazing value trio.

I don't know if anyone saw the presentation, but this guy went on and on about how absolutely amazing the face recognition was, how neither masks nor face models (clay/ silicone?) could fool it, how they had like 1 billion faces scanned etc etc.
And then he tried using his face to unlock the phone ... And it FAILED. Hahahahahahahahaha 
He went ahead and punched in a security code number in, and pretended nothing happened.

Definitely will help.  The key is to only expose by 1 stop, 2 stops and it gets noisy really fast.  I have a GH5 coming in tomorrow, looking forward to testing 10 bit V-log! :-)

Thank you @Benjamin Hilton this is all great information. I too use Natural but just wing it with the settings based on the scene and the lens. I have been having problems when underexposing. Currently trying to edit a very dark scene which is taking forever, so next time I will try Cine D to help with the shadows. I have not tried the curves yet so will also put that up. I feel like once I upgrade to a higher bitrate camera like the GH5 it will be much easier to avoid artefacts and macro blocking and whatnot from stretching the codec too much. 

For the first time I am tempted to get 5K Retina Imac to enjoy the full resolution

With the new firmware 2.0 update, the Panasonic GH5 becomes the first 5K 10bit H.265 mirrorless camera, and you don't even need an anamorphic lens to join the party.

Wow, just wow... Respect for Panasonic just went up big time. Canon who? This is amazing, Panasonic have gone above and beyond my wildest expectations with this update. My decision to invest in the Panasonic system now justified. Canon never did anything like this for us. I am still waiting to see what EVA1 brings, but if the lowlight performance is there, I can see it making a nice addition to my tool kit. If not, another GH5 will be in the cards. In any case, this is massive. The competition is surely looking stupid right now. Hey Sony, Canon, Nikon etc... this is how you earn customers business and repeat business.

B&H occasionally has a few weird glitches when they mark something as discontinued when they just mean out of stock.

The G85 is basically a stripped down GH4 with some improvements like better color science (easier to grade), lower noise levels and IBIS to name a few. Tell me exactly how that means we're telling him to shoot full auto?

I got another reason to dump Adobe.
There's a bug in the newest version where it'll delete all of your media files on the drive with the media cache folder. Happened to me on one drive. Assumed the drive was going bad, so I brought a new one. Moved the media cache folder to a different drive, and it happened on that one! Folder structure stays intact but files get deleted. Lots 2+ TB of data in both cases.
Luckily I was able to get it all back with recovery software, but the time it takes to transfer/format etc....  I mean, good god.

This is an awesome idea. Found the PCSPECIALIST website and it seems ideal to build a laptop without having to actually put it together. Prices seem very reasonable to me on first glance. Unfortunately I probably left it too late, selling my MSI was a spur of the moment decision, so I need something someone has in stock nearby as I leave Tuesday. Might see if they can deliver Monday if I order tomorrow morning.
Currently also looking at mini PC's, as I will be getting a monitor anyway and small ones can easily fit in luggage. Also the black HP Spectre x360, which is thin, fairly light and can be used in tablet mode, so it would replace all 3 of my devices (tablet, notebook and workstation laptop). I like to spend time looking so I get the best device and deal- will post the winner of best 4K portable computer when chosen.
Might wait though because I checked Mac prices in Singapore and they are way cheaper than in the UK: for example £4,049.00 for the most expensive Mac Pro in UK and £3,409.57 in Singapore (approx 15% cheaper). Would rather steer clear of the c*nts at Apple though until I settle down and get an iMac. They leave people in the lurch all the time with their updates e.g. my spare monitor doesn't work with Macbook Air anymore and thousands have had the same problem for many years with no help from Apple. Microsoft make stupid decisions but I always find a way around them eventually.
 
Edit: Found the perfect laptop: Dell XPS 15. 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, 2GB 960M GPU, i7-6700HQ. Same screen size as my big MSI, but feels more like the size of a 13" Air. 4K touchscreen too.
 

Why not a custom built Clevo ? You can choose the components.
That's what I did.

If you need premiere I would stick to a windows laptop because 1. You get better hardware for your money 2. Premiere works better under windows right now. 
XPS 15 9560 and Razer blade should be good, but take a look at the hp zbook studio G3 that is officially supported by Adobe:
That being said, I edit 4k videos (with proxies) on a macbook 12 with FCPX  

Use Wordpress and buy a theme which is almost exactly how you want it to be from Theme Forest. Only choose themes made in past year with at least 20 4.5 star overall reviews.
Embedding videos is much easier and it will boost the video rankings on Vimeo or Youtube. 
Buy your domain name from internet.bs (avoid GoDaddy they will hammer you with unnecessary addons).  Host it with Hostmonster if in US or Vidahost in UK. Cheapest package is fine. Actually the domain name may be free with the hosting.
Use Tinypng to compress photos or the plugin SmushIt if you want to batch compress. There is also ImageOptim app on Macs for jpeg. Page speed is a big ranking factor for Google.
Dont buy any spam links or it will get banned or penalised in Google. Join Google Analytics and Search Console to help get the pages indexed in Google, get advice and see visitor statistics.
Join Google My Business Local if you want local clients or Brand if not. Make sure the category is right, then get a couple of reviews and it can be a short cut to the top with the Google Maps listings.

On the H.265 and HEVC topic and 400Mbps:
I was assuming that 400Mbps All-I is H.264 but there is nowhere saying which codec is it and when I asked Nick Driftwood on a Live they did on Facebook, he said like the 400Mbps codec was actually H.265 and it would be equivalent to a 800Mbps in GH4 since HEVC has about half the size of AVC.
I'm not sure if he made a mistake but that what he said.
That's something I wrote about some time ago and that it would be interesting to have H.265 All-I version for the GH5, so if it's true and the GH5 is providing both H.264 and H.265 codecs, that's very interesting and quite future oriented approach.
