Luke Mason got a reaction from Simon Young in Fuji X-T3 and X-T4 discussion
Fuji never said 17ms, that came from nowhere, the official press release claims rolling shutter has been halved from X-T2/H1.
Also simple math, 60fps is approx 16ms per frame, so rolling shutter cannot exceed that.

Current ARM processors can only handle hardware accelerated HEVC Main 10 Version 1 up to 10bit 420, to get 10bit 422 or even higher (12bit and/or 444) you need version 2 which is not yet widely supported.

Full FOV 4K is actually 2.7K upscaled, as the IMX183 sensor can either do full 5.5K readout or 2.7K readout, the Ambarella chip obviously cannot handle 5.5K supersampling.
    See Table 3 Readout mode:

Low con filters reduce contrast by lifting black level, but they do not extend the DR.

They will all have crazy banding - after Youtube compression. These cameras are too clean at base ISO, there's no noise/grain to dither large gradients without much detail.

exFAT format for files larger than 4GB will be added via future firmware update.
HLG is broadcast HDR, there's no requirement for bitdepth or colour subsampling, can be 420 or 422, even 8bit.
Gimbal these days are quite lower than $1000.
Implementation of H.265 is purely for hardware-accelerated 10bit.

H.265 is chosen because the ARM processors have 10bit HEVC hardware-accelerated encoding. At high bitrate, encoding efficiency/quality between H.264 and H.265 is identical.

They have, I worked closely with ML team for a while. For example, a firmware dump can be extracted from the camera's AF assist LED (blinking binary code to a receiver). The whole reason the job hasn't been done is because they choose not to.

I believe Mavic 2 Pro still uses Ambarella H1 chip, which limits H.265 to main profile. Also the Sony sensor IMX183CQJ doesn't support full sensor readout for video.

Luke Mason got a reaction from Mark Romero 2 in Does HLG Increase DR When Rendered as Rec 709???
Essentially, HLG gamma is just BT.709 with aggressive highlight roll-off. It's not advisable to do any intensive grading due to this highly non-linear distribution of bits.
If you have used BT.2020 gamut (often combined with HLG gamma as a default). Just map the gamut to BT.709 with some minor adjustment. The dynamic range will remain unchanged after export. After all, HLG is designed to work on both SD TV and HDR TV.
