Very nice... we're in a new league now... Look at that handheld setup... amazing. 4K/60p/10bit/4:2:2 with a beautiful monitor and amazing lens for about $6k, half the price of RED's cheapest brain (not comparing the two, but damn the gap is really small now).
For $6K, you really would have a 100% boné fidé cinema setup, including legit cine glass.

The shots in the reel not done by me are the drone shots.

As opposed to a $500 35mm, a $1100 24-105, a $2300 50 and a $3000 zoom? You're seriously bashing Nikon's initial rollout compared to Canon's? How many are going to buy a $3000 zoom or a $2300 prime over adapting EF lenses? The whole R line is based around Canon shooters adapting their lenses, hence the THREE adapters. Right now they're both counting on existing DSLR users adapting lenses until they round things out. But what's worse is the fact that they've shown zero sensor advancement in the two years since the 5d4 was released. We already know Nikon has 2.8 zooms and a number of primes coming in the next year. All of your Zed bashing are issues Canon has as well, combined with no IBIS and a crappier sensor that's a couple generations behind current Sony offerings.
Are you a paid Canon troll?

I know plenty that feel IBIS is almost as good as a gimbal and therefore can be used in place of a dolly for tracking shots.
As as opposed to me in a car tracking someone, the example I gave.
Thats two different types of tracking shots.
And by the way you said “locked off” shots which I didn’t actually say and is not what I’m talking about IBIS being good at.
    Keep trying.

We are living in a post-truth / alternative facts world now so while it may be factually provable by optical calculations and various laws of physics that the only thing that determines perspective is the subject to object distance it is also equally valid to say a 'wide angle' lens has a certain 'look' that is independent of the format and personal belief in this or any other similar notion is just as valid. Indeed there is evidence to be had that there is a vast conspiracy involving all the camera manufacturers and scientists in the world to promote the idea of 'perspective' to sell more cameras and lenses. For many years now we have all been ready to accept the scientists opinion that the world is round but thanks to a growing number of brave and pioneering individuals and groups around the world the truth is finally emerging that the world is infact flat. Only just recently was I able to satisfy myself that this was indeed the case when I took my old school ruler down to the sea and held it up to the horizon - no so-called expert can argue with that can they!

The new album (last I heard) was at No.7 in the official UK chart.
I'm a big fan of what Panasonic has done with this camera.

In fact, cable TV stations here require BBC/EBU standards, and this is the norm in EU, I know because I did sound on a couple of this last year. Most terrestrial channels ask for 4:2:2 8bit, but most of them are not very anal about it (a couple of years ago a C100 was enough), but on another 2 shows on private stations, they requested 10 bit, so we shot with GH5. A few other jobs I did this year needed top specs as well (a feature documentary we shot C300mkII, and a couple of shorts with Ursa mini pro), and this were just medium to low budgeted jobs.
I do not thing that this conversation is relevant here though. Different tools and different needs. The @Alt Shoo expressed his opinion that this specific tool isn't right for his intended use. No one should have been offended by it.
This joke about Soderbergh's film will go on forever I guess. If you feel confident do your work with an iPhone 7+, be my guest, no one will judge you, and I support every artistic choice (my favorite films of all time are Italian neo realistic films and indies of all kinds from around the world), but this is not a serious argument for a dozen of reasons, thoroughly discussed on similar threads, or in all the other threads that this arguments out of the blue appears to bring off topic comments and confusion (e.g the thread about the Canon's, which suddenly became an iPhone Vs all the cameras challenge).
If I cared about photo and video, and I have  to choose between an iPhone 7 or a X-H1, I would choose the latter, in every possible way.

Your original comment was "I always have a hard time saying a stills camera sucks just because its not the best video camera in the world. If video is that important I use a video dedicated camera."
The essence of this, the whole forum here, and posts by @Andrew Reid are exactly about those cameras. I am truly surprised that you haven't noticed that. Mostly we care about video in smaller, relatively cheaper, or not, hybrid cameras - cameras that a big, or even the biggest proportion of its life will shoot video, etc There are unlimited photo-centric forums around, I do post on a couple, because photography is my hobby, but here, I mainly come for the video aspect of things.
My comment was sarcastic, because the famous people on the original post of the OP, are using this said camera for video, so it is only fair that we can review the video performance.
No one judged anything, but you, the ability of us to use "photo" cameras for video, and review them for the ability, or not, to shoot adequate video for our needs.
I do like cameras to be 50/50, that is why I staying NX. I do use dedicated video cameras with bigger projects and I love them, my next buy I want to be one (hopefully a C100mkIII or FS5mklI). Your opinion is well respected and heard all the time, no need for passive-aggressive statements.

Thank you Dave. Canon really does need to be called out for being the laziest camera company on the market. Like you, I am a long time Canon owner, and love my 1DC.  Over the years I have owned the c300, c100, xc10 and various 5D iterations. I spent huge amounts of money trying to chase Canon's differentiation strategy...this camera for stills, this one for good video, this one for compact portability, etc. When in truth all I wanted was a Sony A7r/s or GH5 with Canon color (and I have owned Sony, Samsung and Olympus as well).
No more. I am done with Canon.   I am tired of a company that so aggressively handicaps its products...5D IV's crop and no IBIS, fixed screen,  6D Mark II's 1080p (forget 4k) which is more like 720p and lack of dynamic range,  the C200's lack of middle ground codec below RAW at that price point.  I still love my 1DC, but it is 2018 and I want good 4k with IBIS, good video focus, touch screen and a smaller form factor.  Sony, Panasonic and Olympus actually seem like they try to make good products for their customers, I just don't like their color science (I know others feel differently and they are getting better).   I have been slowly selling off my Canon gear.  If the Fuji XH1 is what it is rumored to be I am pretty sure I will finally have the camera I want: 4k, log, IBIS, good focus, touch screen, reasonable form factor and great color science.   I could wait for the rumored mirrorless option from Canon, but I think its safe to assume with metaphysical certitude that Canon will do something to handicap the camera (weak codec, no ibis, weird lens adapter for EF...something).  That is their thing, it is in the very DNA of the company at this point.   I am sure they will remain #1 in sales, but they won't be doing it with my money anymore.  I will give it to a company that is actually trying to compete and not just rest on the halo of their brand from previous eras.  I am definitely going to be tracking the XH1 announcement next week.

ade towell got a reaction from webrunner5 in C200 - some thoughts
As always it seems everyone has different needs in a camera.
There is quite a difference when grading 10 bit log compared with 8 bit, and with the C200 you are giving up dynamic range sticking to their 8 bit codec. For me the fs7 seems to have spoilt many of the production companies at least in my world, and so they are now asking more for 10 bit not 8 bit. You can argue they should instead just leap to dealing with RAW but that is not where they seem to be at, for better or worse...
There is a lot to like about the c200 and even though I do prefer the EVA1's image, the c200 ticks most of the boxes for me, I come from the c100 so it would seem like a natural step - but for that pesky 8 bit (or RAW). Canon are trying to push me towards the C300 mk2 but that's another jump in price (and has its own niggles for me)  - am swinging towards the EVA1 with GH5 or GH5s  as b cam, a lot to be said for having cameras that can easily be graded to match

That DP Review chart is comparing photos, this is a video centric forum - when you compare the video of GH5s and the A7s from what I've seen up to iso 12800 maybe even 25000 the GH5s is a cleaner image and the colour doesn't fall apart in the same way the Sony does. From 25000 iso and above the Sony clearly takes over but how many people shoot at those crazy high isos? The Gh5s is better at iso levels where 99% of users will be using it

AF is not that bad at all though I don't use it....I did however play with it to see...the real problem IMO is people want to bypass the skills to operate a camera this complex and essentially want a feature loaded GH5 that acts like a point and shoot....the gimbal issue comes up a lot...the sollution, unless you're Martin Scorsese, making Goodfellas, shoot shorter takes and employ some of the skills steadycam operators have used for years...like locking focus in manual mode, and then maintaining a constant distance from the sublject....or using a lens in the case where this is impossible with a short infinity distance and shooting away...for those complaining about GH5 AF on gimbals, I suggest viewing some steadycam reels on Vimeo or YouTube....and try to imagine the obstacle course the operators are navigating to achieve their incredible results....without AF and a camera setup that weighs between 25 and 45 lbs...in other words, stop blaming the camera and developer your own skills....for run and gun, either learn to focus manually or put up with what it can do, which is not as bad as reported...with AF the skill lies in where you can use it with this camera and where not.

This is getting quite out of hand ... and i fail to see why.
Some people need AF, some don't. Please don't crap on a camera which is awesome just because it doesn't have the one feature you want. Buy a different camera.
Calling ML hacked crap is callous at best. They did a lot for low-budget shooters, including opening up 3k 21:9 RAW on the 5dmk3. I sold mine a few weeks ago, not because of autofocus, but because of lacking exposure tools. I'm grateful to ML, and will continue with them on the truly open Axiom camera.
This is also a hobby to me, i'm a one-man band. Right now i am looking at the GH5 or GH5s which seems like an awesome compromise of picture quality (higher res/non-RAW) and a bag of tools i sorely miss (waveform for correct expo on skintones, highlights, etc). Also vectorscope.
Of course i'm lusting after a C200. It got the RAW i got so used to. Also the exposure tools i want. But this is a pro-cinema cam, which boasts your coveted AF, pro-XLR sound, internal RAW, wonderful color science, high DR, and is good in low light. And i think the price tag is right. Getting such a package under 10 grand at 1.5kg is unheard of. That's the weight of the 1DC!
So the C200 is on my personal shortlist. So is the GH5 and GH5s, and  i can barely wait to hear more on january 8th
