Martin MatÄ›j reacted to BTM_Pix in Measuring sound levels
It depends what the purpose of the testing is and the source.
The 'A' weighting is the most commonly used as it is shaped by typical human hearing responses, hence why it is the one used in assessing risk of damage to hearing.
The 'C' weighting includes the lower frequencies not addressed in the 'A' weighting and a flatter response between 80Hz-3kHz to better reflect human hearing becoming more linear at louder sounds levels.
The 'Z' weighting is flat across all frequencies.

Due to the ubiquity of the 'A' weighting it will be a more universally accepted/relatable measurement (when the local authorities come round to measure noise they will use 'A' weighting for example) but 'C' might be more appropriate if the sound source is very loud or contains a lot of low frequency content.
So, as a very simplistic answer, if the purpose of this new door is to reduce the annoying noise coming from your musician neighbour across the hallway practising for his next gig, then if he's playing a xylophone I'd measure its effectiveness using 'A' weighted whereas using 'C' weighted would give you a better indication if he's a bass player.

Now I use Smallhd focus 7 monitor with this mounting to Ronin S:

And I think it's the best combo, the monitor feels so secure and you can change the position so easily. You could also mount some other things to the side handle.

The possition of the monitor is better on the last picture because the HDMI cable is not in the way. You can do the same with Smallhd focus 5 inch.

I am using G80 for like half a year or more for everything including paid work:
    https://vimeo.com/martinmatej
    And I still love it!
I am handheld kind of guy and the ibis works super well.
I also use it with viltrox EF-M2 adapter speedbooster.
I had a problem with stabilization on already stabilized lens when the switch on the lens disables even the ibis in G80 or when I left the stabilization switch on canon 70 - 300 4 - 5.6 on the camera freezes after few seconds of filming and then I have to detach the adapter and restart the camera.
But when I use it with sigma 17 - 50 2.8 Ef mount version with no stabilization on the lens just stabilization in G80 is on it works perfect.
I also had some problems with that adapter and vintage glass without electric contacts so be aware.
But all in all the G80 was and still is a great camera that I bought second hand for like 500 USD.
If you want 4K 60p you could go for second hand panasonic G9 which costs somewhere between G80 and GH5.

Martin MatÄ›j reacted to mirekti in GH5 - major lag via HDMI out to ext. recorders?
I am in a marked for SmallHD focus. Currently I use Atomos Ninja, but I really need something smaller.
Also, I’ve read some posts about the issue with the delay which put me off, but now i am reassured it should be ok.
One last thing that concerns me is that it doesn’t support 4k60p.
Will I be able to record 4k60p internally and display it on SmallHD Focus at the same time or the HDMI out will be the same as what I record internally to the SD card, 4k60p, and I wouldn’t be able to monitor in such mode?

I have the simmod 82mm and didnt notice any color shift.
    the leather pouch is nice.
The turning mechanism helps to position the filter so you have the small stick in the right spot and I guess it could be used to control the polarisation effect.
give it a try but be carefull if you position the filter to max settings it shows x pattern while on position 10 it is fine - does anyone knows if slr magic I or II works the same way?
    thanks
