I have a GH5 and a Zcam E2 these days and an 8mm fisheye with the 0.64x speed booster gives a tiny amount of vignette, but very easy to crop out if desired. Regular speed booster 0.71x will give you no Vig.

I like it when rumour sites give a rating to the veracity of their own rumours.
Its pretty much the equivalent to people ranking their own farts.
My new favourite is when they are self important enough to announce the countdown to the unveiling of a new rumour.
"I'm going to announce something that is highly likely to be untrue but by ramping up your anticipation and making you wait for the announcement this gives it some degree of importance so you are far more likely to believe it to be true".

It’s odd - I get fanboy will be fanboys - but why is everyone on Facebook and reduser saying this is such great news? I mean even if you own a red, why wouldn’t you want to see compressed RAW in other products? Competition is a good thing and it gives consumers more choice. It’s like me celebrating that my S1H won a case that will allow them to be the only camera that can record to an SD card. Why would I celebrate that? 

HAHAHAHA....  all these people going FF and re-buying all their lenses are already behind the curve!
I've always said that if you're not shooting Medium or Large format then you might as well be using a 1/3" chip camera - you're not going to be getting those luscious immersive images!
Sell all your FF lenses now - the format is dead!  Get out while you still can!!

Thanks. It seems like the right way to go. The TZ CAM E2G is nice and has a global shutter. I'm really excited about the next version of the ZcamE2 that has a global shutter. I will make the jump! Cheers. 

You won't be disappointed with the ZcamE2, it's the route I took after having similar cameras to you.

Thanks Chris, I have been rocking the GH2, GH3, GH4 and now the GH5. It is the end of the line for me with the GH line. I really learned allot and I have lots of footage I love. There are a few exciting camera's out and coming out. GH5 with the 10 bit was a big plus over 8 bit. I want something with great color science like the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 but also with a small form factor. The Z CAM E-2 4K looks nice. For me the dream specs would good color science, 10 bit, 120 fps 4k, small form factor, global shutter, Pro Res Raw or HQ with MFT mount. I have invested and built up a collection of vintage glass in MFT so I'm rocking this formate for a while. With all that said, I still think my best footage came off my hacked GH2
 

This might be an odd question, but what does this thing fly like in the wind? I shoot most Kiteboarding videos and I don't particularly care much for carrying a drone (had a mavic but sold it as I don't like more things to carry), however there's quite some times where companies want drone shots included because they think it looks "pro". Basically what I'm getting at is whether this thing can fly in say 20knots or so?

I little bit of history with this.
I started to shot this film in the end of 2013 (yes almost 7 years). It took almost 3 years in production. It was shot with a couple of Nikons DSLRs and Super 16mm film. Since it's first screening in the Mar Del Plata International Film Festival in 2016, the film was going around thru some festivals and other screenings. It finally got a theatrical release locally (Argentina) in march this year. It's preaty hard to get distribution to some "kind" of movies.
As you can see, this is a very looong process when you are a "newcomer" in the business, but you just to keep pushing.
I still have in plan try to reach some other platforms. Only time will tell.

Promo-wear has built-in hype, just because it is part of the fashion industry.  On the other hand, the sunglasses and shirts probably didn't get as much hype as the RED One, which was vaporware for about 3 years.

Some guy made a video about RED's special drives.  I think he noticed something.

When new users sign up and the only thing they do is praise/condemn a certain product it always smells a little fishy to me... sure some might be genuine, but I doubt the majority are.

Some people have been using them for a longe time without serious issues. My worst experience was with the Hero 7. I lost almost a full day of shooting on a kayak. I had the latest firmware back then, a tested SD card formatted in the device and while everything seemed perfect the camera didn't record a single frame. Actually i pressed record many times as i didn't want to end up with a single file and i could see clearly the record status on the display. 

This is just specs comparison. In real life OSMO action works like a charm with acceptable image quality in Cine D while GoPro cameras where always glitchy and unreliable. I can't tell about the new GoPro as i don't have it but Hero 4, 5, 6 and 7 where simply unreliable. Those bugs where never resolved so i wouldn't expect the 8th version to be better. 

It's not surprising to me that being the newest one in the market, H8 has better performance than Osmo action in certain aspects, but I'm talking about the cost-performance here.  Every time GoPro drops a new product, the specs and performance sound super enticing, however after sometime, all the glitchy and freezing problems crop up. Haven't got a H8 yet, maybe H8 will have much better user exprience than any other products... But we'll see.

Yeah, but the audio from the vx and soft desaturated highlights still compete with what is available now. It's just such a good all in one package. I also think that skateboarding undeniably looks better in 4:3. 
Agreed. All of the hip ad agencies are all shooting 16 and 35. The amount of labs and the price and demand for cameras really reflects this as well. A bit of nostalgia and I think the resolution battle has slowed down, as the search for better looking texture and color increases. 

i presume the advertising sells it as easy peasy. You go out, blasting along with whatever activity your doing, capturing all that awesomeness on the gopro bring it home to watch it in 4k or hd perhaps, the reality is somewhat different, there is perhaps a lot more involved than people anticipated  in producing awesomeness. I would venture to say that even at a gopro level one will need to apply a few  filmmaker techniques to make it watchable for more than five minutes for anyone other than family. Not to mention the persistence and practice required to learn your camera as well. I'm not surprised people give up after a few tries.  

Everyone wants the 1 inch sensor!! If DJI can pull this off with their Osmo Action 2, then it'll be some gamechanger,for sure

Agreed. 7 is very buggy, so even when its price dropped to $299, not attractive to me. Maybe some improvment in the IQ of H8, but the hypersmooth 2.0 of H8 is hardly noticable to most people. 

Hero 7 is the glitchiest piece of electronic equipment I've ever purchased, not fit for pro work (all my friends who have it also have the same software issues, some even have other hardware related issues, I hope they have solved these issues for the 8).

Hero 8 has no ability to replace the glass in front of the lens... I dunno what you do with your cams, but I use mine for, well... action! So if I scratch that thing I want to replace it! I replaced my Hero7 front 3 times already! This makes the Hero 8 a non-starter in my opinion.

@hk908 Yes the stabilisation is rubbish in low light, don't even try it (actually turn it off, or your images will be toast)... it works pretty well in mid day light though.

That all said and done, if anyone is listening... DJI cough cough... can you please make a 1inch sensor camera with better IQ and codecs!!! An action cam with the same sensor as the Mavic 2 with a fisheye lens for action sports (prores if possible!) would be incredible!!! I don't even care if it's twice the size. DO IT!!!

p.s. Forgot to mention, if I could go back in time I would have bought the DJI action cam. Only thing I wish is that they wouldn't glue the lens in... DJI please let us swap that out if we want!
