An APS-C sized pocket would be amazing. Smallish form factor with tiltable screen, better battery and speed-boostable to FF... just imagine  .

    LMAO!
Been trolling this guy for kicks - complete noob.
BEWARE OF SELLERS JACKING UP PRICES ON EBAY!
Also, beware of posters who just like to insult/belittle people on forums - they've always got something to hide!
Anyone who has seen me post for the last few years knows that I speak my mind & also give good advice.
If you're going to spend £1K, or there abouts, on an anamorphic then this is the one you should buy (it also comes as the 8/19/1.5x) - hands down one of the best anamorphics out there! This one is very nicely priced & focuses closer than the 8/19/1.5x.

From what I can read you partly instigated it. You're both as silly as each other. Move on.

His advice that the lens is not worth that much is 100% sound advice, as it's not worth that. Does it mean that we can find them easily for under that price? Probably not, but that's also not what he said.
There aren't many 1.5x anamorphics, not just for that price, but in general. Does that make them better than other anamorphics? No. Does that mean you should pay silly inflated prices for them? Let your intelligence and wallet be the judge.

Maybe some truth to it. I've had some people send me abusive/threatening emails after posting reccomendations for alternative products to theirs... so wouldn't be at all surprised.

If you want a quick and easy workflow to get your feet wet until you learn Resolve, ML Raw Viewer, which was made to process Magic Lantern Raw files, will process BMPCC Raw files and export them to ProRes.

Reslove does everything I need, others may need something else. Reslove has a lot of functions most people don't know of or understand properly, you need to watch tutorials to work them out, it's not always easy to work out on your own.

It always feels like their reviews are a greater service to Johnnie's ties with Sony than to their readers. Johnnie goes to Japan. Johnnie gets into feedback session. Johnnie gets a loan camera. Johnnie is the oracle to consult if Sony want advice. Johnnie is holding camera and looking serious in every review shot. Johnnie is documentary filmmaker. Johnnie with his bumbag on being PRO. Johnnie writing boring piece of shit review that looks like it took 12 minutes, that didn't tell me anything whatsoever that I didn't already know, that nevertheless everyone reads as it turns up on SonyAlphaRumors due to special friendship between two hacks.
    That's more like it.

    Hi everybody.
Quite hot discussion here now, so let me explain couple things myself.
V2 adapter tweak referring to is discontinued. It was made by personal order once when I thought Redstan is out of business, but it seems that I was wrong. So, we will not continue to make such adapters with retaining ring (that is really great idea, and it is sad that it wasn't mine :-) )
Our adapters are more simple and more risky. bzpop is correct - there is a chance of dropping anamorphic attachment with our adapters, so you need much more care using them. Positive side is lower price for those who using not too expensive equipment.
Flat spring bzpop referring to is not poor design. Purpose of the spring is protection of the lens body from damage by adapter screws. I tested this feature on many attachments already, and results are following: if you tight the screws just by you fingers, an attachment will not fall accidentally, but can be pulled out with not too much force. After you positioned it correctly, you need to tight screws bit harder using allen key. After this, you'll not be able to pull it out. So, this design is secure enough when used properly.
    Thanks.
    Raf.

Yes, but those characteristics/ differences are due more to sensor/ camera tech than anything else.
You can match them if you choose your shots correctly, if the sensors produce a similar image it shouldn't be hard.
Look up definition of "Aesthetics". It does exist, just not in the realm you're focusing on, which is perfect world equivalent focal length/ bokeh. It's also possible it doesn't exist to the degree you consider worth noting, it does however exist as long as FF sensors aren't M 4/3 sensors, or any other sensor for that matter.

FF can look like APS-C if stopped down. Crop sensors can look like full frame if the DOF+FOV equivalent is possible. Its all about the DOF at a given effective focal length. FF starts to become impossible to emulate with combinations like a 24mm at f/2 or 35mm at f/2 or 2.8 on FF. Those are magic.

Right, I never thought it was some magical unicorn that made the images look like it was shot on a different medium altogether. I think there are two schools of thought with this crap... There are people like me that use terms like organic and filmic and look and there are other people that need those phrases to be quantifiable. I used the wrong word with aesthetic, when I should have just asked the pros and cons of FF.
Yup, this is what I am unsure of. It helps that the D750 has a DX crop mode, so in some ways you can get double duty out of one lens, but in the end, the aps-c only camera may be enough for me. The Nikons usually go on sale a lot around the holidays so I just want to be prepared and decided, if the 750 goes on some crazy lightning sale or Black Friday sale.

Smaller sensor, more depth (=deeper, = wider zone of acceptable focus).

But you are also never going to get the wide angle equivalence with a crop sensor that you do with a full frame, so it's more than just shallow depth of field, that is definitely part of the equation, but the separation, and FOV will not be the same.

There you go.  If you want to run the maths with this stuff, fine.  Obviously the photo world is full up with these sorts of folks, this is a technical and artistic medium, but ...dang y'all... Just LOOK at the images a camera/lens produces.  If it works good 'nuff for you, get to it.  Go make something.
Don't worry a wit if anyone says what they do is better or worse.  Just do your own thing.
