    @Henry Silvestriz
    Depends, if you can find a great combo with the 16-50S, then I say it will be great for the next few years, and cheaper than the new future cameras (as you see the flagship models are reaching 2000$ territory body only).
    If you like to have the best and the latest, then wait for the next Fuji or Sony (the next ones, not the current ones), or buy the GH5.
    Definitely NX1 is a peek to the future, unbelievable ergonomics, battery life, H265 codec, some excellent and cheap lenses (fish eye, 30mm + 45mm).
    If you add more info about your intended use, we may be more helpful
    @Santiago de la Rosa
    If you have NX500 and you know what it is, then you would find NX1 just amazing. Completely different cameras though, the one is a pro hybrid, the other ain't!

    I just gained interest in cameras... I am a Samsung fanatic and just found out about the NX1...after finding out is the best mirrorless camera up to date I discovered it was discontinued... What the hell???  Should I buy one regardless or look elsewhere?

    It's probably the H.264 compression that maxes out your system. I transcode everything because my system also doesn't do well with H.264.

    You have to weigh up the odds and make a choice - there's risk in everything. I wouldn't recommend someone overclock's their PC unless they know exactly what they are doing and I wouldn't overclock a CPU used in a workstation to the very limit of it's stability in voltage, temperature and frequency but neither would I state that overclocking is inherently bad or risky as a blanket statement.

    I have run all my PC overclocked since... (can´t remember :))
    It´s 1.25v at 3.7Ghz 8cores, with offset, going 0.485v in idle, that´s nothing, temperatures are excellent so noise too.
    I´m testing now 3.8Ghz no high gain, and my chip needs 1.30v, it gives me only +1point in Cinebench.
    Stability is solid rock, +4 hours Realbench, windows too, just installed the AMD Ryzen Energy plan.
    0 problems.
    Durability? My last PC was from 3.4Ghz to 4.2Ghz since 2011, 0 problems. Now it´s working for other person.
    Ryzen 1700 gives us a 8 core for the masses.

    Ryzen 1700 mounted, right now overclocked to 3,7Ghz all cores. 35ºC idle, 50-55ºC rendering. It´s really faster than my i7 2600K overclocked to 4,2Ghz.
    1610 Points Cinebench R15. I will be editing next week with a new project, more conclusions to come.
    I´m very satisfied.

    Nonsense - nothing wrong with overclocking if done properly within the manufacturer's limits for voltage and temperature and lots to gain from faster processing.

    Personally I use proxies in premiere pro. I import the native H.265 files and create H.264 proxies for editing.
    Works great. takes quite a bit of time up front to trans code but you can edit while it works in the back ground. For the most part I just import before I goto bed and let it chooch while I am sleeping.
    Added bonus, when you wake up to a completed trancoding job you literal roll out of bed feeling like you have already accomplished something for the day. lol

    But you do realize that both Samsung cameras have not been in production for some time and they've exited the market entirely, right? Not too many people are rushing out for an orphaned camera.
    BTW, I too had an NX1 and besides its quirkiness (poor AF, spontaneous shutdowns etc.), I loved it.

    Excited? Yes and not.
    The GH5 spec are impresive, the image apperars to be very good, buuuuuut this is not 2014, there are more options, more 4K cameras with good video and specs too.
    NX500, NX1, GH4, A7, etc...
    And it´s a 2.000€ camera, I want one but I need to pay it and paided works are bad for me
    Maybe in a future

    I'm always amazed when I see work projected in a kino environment, instead of on a monitor or a screen. Mushy, crap footage you thought looked bad can take on very natural qualities. Footage you thought looked great, now looks stunning.

    I shoot with a dual camera setup using the BMCC 2.5(RAW mode) and a Hacked Samsung NX1. 60% of the time I like the BMCC image better. It doesn't have as much resolution, but the dynamic range looks really, really good. To see the original bmcc in all it's glory, check out my YouTube production diary thread here:

    NOTE: The crop factor is awful, I think the MFT version with a speed booster is a MUST.

    I don't see a Pana GH4 or a GH5 being taken very seriously at all in LA. My daughter lives near there, and people in California have tons more money than any other state other than say up East. BMW's are as common as a Honda Civic out there.
    I would imagine a Red is nearly as common as a GH4 in the Cine community out there. At least many having a C100 or better. I know that camera does not matter that much in reality, but if you show up with a GH3 and a guy has a Red well not too sure your talent counts that much. Place is crawling with talent!
