As these user names seemed familiar to me, and I felt I had seen useful and helpful post from these guys in the past I decided to see what kind of trouble the were causing.
 
Of baltic's 8 posts I would consider 7 o them to be helpful normal discussions, this being the only exception.
 
And of Nog's 13 posts I didn't find any that were looking to cause trouble, the were all offering opinions, help, or information. This was by far his most troublesome post.
 
Baltic's fanboy comment was out of line and I don't agree with telling someone what kind of videos they should make, but is that single post ban worthy? As for Nog, unless you removed all of his troublesome posts so I was not able to find them he absolutely didn't deserve getting banned for that statement. Do you really feel that is trouble making?
 
I am a huge fan of your site and the work that you do, I check in here almost daily since it is one of the best sources for information on anamorphics which is a large interest of mine. But I have to say that banning these individuals, especially Nog in this way is more damaging for the community than anything they did. Am I missing something here?

A Community is exactly what Andrew has created. I have followed him and enjoyed his reviews since the beginning of his blog. I have also enjoyed some of his shorts and purchased two of his books.
 
I will not denied that Andrew has done a great job. But what I will not accept, is for people to be banned for emitting their opinion on his short film. I don't think they were insulting at all, clumsy at best. I even sensed, taking into account Andrew extensive knowledge, that they were probably expecting something more meaty from him, and that I believe is their right. 
 
Some directors, that I hold in high regards, have produced some poor films. I glad they didn't ban me from watching the rest of their body of work.
 
Andrew's action were extreme. We should all learn one pure truth. you cannot please everyone and that's that. Now let's accept it and move on, because the subject of acceptance is wild and wide, and unfortunately only too few really care or respect it.

I shot this music video for The Fold using the GH3, and a couple of car exterior shots with the Blackmagic Pocket Camera.

Lenses: Panasonic 12-35 2.8, Rokinon 35 & 85. Black Pro Mist 1/4 filter on most shots.
 
I used an Ice Light for a couple of shots where I had no access to power, and it totally screwed me. Check out the motel scene, and  you will notice rolling bands. I later figured out if the intesity of the light wasnt at 100 then it created the bands.
For the most part I was totally pleased with the GH3, especially with the 60p.

I shot my first music video, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to check it out and let me know what you think. All criticisms and comments are welcomed!
 
Shot on a Canon 60D, underwater shots were done on a GoPro Hero 3.
 

Finally got around to finishing this off.
Was a bit of a nightmare due to hard drive space & a slow computer.
Filmed on a Canon 60D, Helios 44-2 & Iscorama 54 (more details on Vimeo).
 

I think your exuberance with the A7s needs to be a little more balanced between personal preferences and real facts. Not because I deny anyone personal preference choices, but because there are people who follow your writings and respect your expertise and sometimes depend on your personal interpretations as vital information. Knocking off a camera from your personal likes doesn't make the guy who put his hard earned dime on the camera feeling very well. That same thing can be done using just results without deflating the follower of your site.
 
Saying you want the Sony A7s because you have "full frame lenses" is not a factor in any decision making process at all. Those lenses will fit on many body styles and give different results on each. The guy that is in love with extreme shallow depth of field would certainly go for a camera that specializes in that. However, the truth is there is certainly a reason on the flip side to want the light gathering performance of an f/1.4 lens but have the buffer of an f/2.8 in the process. Saying it is the beginning of the end of a camera like the GH4 you have been heralding really puts a nice taste in the mouth of people who used your exuberance with that camera to put money down to purchase it.
 
What is in the market now is a much wider choice than ever before and one does not cancel out the other. The GH4 gives you added light gathering abilities and the advantage of a wider depth of field, while the A7s gives the opposite with a very narrow DOF and cannot match what the GH4 does. The GH4 however can certainly give a very narrow DOF for people with the skill set to do it.
 
So my objection really is very simple, there are a lot of people who read these articles and opinions standing there holding a camera they bought with their money that suddenly gets trashed for reasons no greater than personal preferences. I think that just ain't so hot :)
 
There is really a ton of facts that come through a web site like this, and for me it is very appreciated. A little more respect for the guy "holding the bag" for a sharp turn of preferences would be nice. Exuberance of why a camera is earth shattering is lots of fun and exciting, but there are lots of people who already hold one of the other bodies that are suddenly on a poo poo list that can be done a lot smoother than this is being done. My 2 cents.

Here's some vacation footage that I turned into a semi-narrative. My friend composed an original score.
 

Argh. I want to like this camera so much but the colours are still bothering me a lot. This footage is some of the punchiest/most saturated I've seen but the colours do not imo come close to 5D RAW. They look cruder and significantly more artificial.

Does anyone else think the color science in this camera is still complete crap? I haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise. 

Some nice looking ML raw lowlight from the 5 years old MKII to remind some of us that we might not need the a7s :P
 

The bloggers should really start pushing sony to add 10bit output. Start a petition or something. Sony just can't release a perfect product they always have to artificially limit it in some way to make you have to look at their higher end shit.

Too Funny!  You should rename this blog the Canon 1DC sucks.  Yet, you compare every camera you review to it. And, in my opinion,
the best looking footage you have shot has been with it.

I love this camera!

For 2x anamorphics, I still say that it's the 5Diii with ML raw. The 4:3 acquisition means that you can get by without a monitor if you need to (which you can anyway with 1.5x anamorphics).
