Ok no worries, perhaps they have a linkedIn page coming, which I believe shows a more  professional face(even though I'm not sure its fruitful or productive for me), I know the marketeers say you have to be on facebook, but it all seems a bit of a vacuous fad.
I thought release was any day, so wondered why no answers, no chatter,, and no night stuff with flares yet.

The helicoid is obviously mounted further back to save costs (if it was the diamater of the outside of the optics it would be a fortune to make - this is why the thing shrouds the whole lens.  
 
logic would tell you that if a cinelux anamorphic is paired with an f2 matching lens originally, then the lens can deliver f2 or batter on the 35mm format.
 
logic would also tell you that they'll have selected front optics capable of delivering without adding vignette to the cinelux.
 
it's nearly impossible to know what reflections might happen inside, but this is the only solution so it'll be a like it or lump it situation I imagine.
 
most technical people are not also visually creative - probably why the tests are a bit lack lusture.  the delivery of this rather lovely piece of well priced engineering is astounding and his tests so far show anyone with a shred of knowledge on the dark art of using anamorphics all they need to know.  

I havn't seen anyone ask for money yet.  Commurit is compiling a list of buyers so he can go to anamorphic shop and get a deal for you.    I sent an email to anamorphic shop asking to be put on the waiting list the day it was announced.  no money was asked for in the reply, just that they would be intouch when it is ready to sell.  so we know that up until this point answers aint available.  it's the way specialist products are made and sold.  until someone is asking you to pay for something they are not obliged to tell you anything.  
 
Let's be patient and I am sure once the product comes up for sale the answers will be there for you.   
 
The guy could have done a kickstarter and never delivered like 90% of the bullshitters out there, but instead is doing things properly it seems.

FM Lens  test with Isco Ultra-Star 2x anamorphic

My gold one arrived today, I am ready to put the black condom on  :D

The discount promise is still available from anamorphic shop, I am  still waiting a little bit longer to gather more people, then I will pass the list  to them and see what comes out.

All the mugs who jumped on the bandwagon a year or less before the bubble burst about 6 months ago have already sold up or are selling the lens they thought would turn their stuff 'cinematic' without them having to put any effort in and this has brought prices down drastically.  I keep having to force myself to not grab one of the umpteen kowa 8z's or similar I see popping up for less than half what they were going for a year ago..  It's a true anamorphic nutters paradise on ebay at the moment what with all the bandwagoners giving up due to it being too much effort.  Flooded market and prices more realistic now.  What is awesome is that a lot more kowas will show up since users will migrate to a gold or red anamorphic to use on the fm unit and only the experimenters will be willing to make the kowa and similar lenses with non 71mm diameters work.

The only thing worries me that they are relying on 2nd hand anamorphic lenses, and we all know what happens when the demand gets high on things like that. The FM lens's price might feel fair, but in 4-6 months the 2x anamorphic prices might go double or even triple. And that's not a pleasant thought.

Probably most of the customers (like us) already have such anamorphics. If not, buy one now!
 
Even if the cheap 2x anamorphics (like the Schneiders - they go for as low as €100) will double our triple in price, the total cost will be way lover than previous single focus options like the Iscorama.

Sounds like they are doing things right, not rushing until they are happy that things are ready. 
Quite commendable in a world where people are often too keen to rush things out without any care over quality.
 
I'm personally not interested in a discount from 550 Euros, that is a very fair price for something that looks like it will enable many duel/single focus anamorphic projector lenses to be used as single focus units that should rival or maybe surpass the results from some cinema grade optics out there on the second hand market.
 
I do understand that the price could seem steep for some, but it does look like at the price point already set - you are getting a very good deal indeed.
To put things into perspective, their price point at the moment is £2k cheaper than an alternative product to be found on this forum.

It's very easy to spot if you know what to look for: look at the bokeh (background blur). Instead of circles the highlights form ovals. But you can even see it in the general shape of the blur, it gives a very different look. It is kind of 'stretched', imo it gives a painting like look to a picture. To me this is much more important than the anamorphic flares.
 
The shot with the scooter doesn't look very anamorphic (except for the aspect ratio) - because everything is in focus and also it's been shot with a 1.33x anamorphic, that doesn't give such a pronounced effect as the 1.75x or 2x anamorphics.

Ok guys, can anyone explain me how to tell a difference between anamorphic and non-anamorphic shot, when there isn't any lens flare? Do you really know when something was shot with anamorphic optics? (I'm not against it, I just don't have experience)

I have asked them to step in the forum, they don't want get involved into debates, they are concentrated on their products.

Before we buy we need some assurances of course, and I am sure they will provide them.
At the moment they are selling their stuff through ebay, which is already an assurance, I think, with their feedbacks which speak from them self.

there is alot of interest in the FM , but it is a 'mystery selling company with NO TRACK RECORD '
No one is asking the question - why are they not directly answering questions on this forum when its their biggest single market and doing all the answering of questions via proxies,
 
hey nothing wrong with any discount - just someone needs to step back and have some level of checking before anyone on this forum get ripped off , now we would not want that would we.
 
Confirmation bias can cloud peoples judgement when they get excited about a product ,
I will not be buying one of these until there has been alot more testing and seeing how the quality control on this product is.
 
Just be cautious before you bulk send them a load of money upfront - I'm just looking out for  everyone - thats all!!

I swear on my 5 kids, I don't work for anamorphic shop, I have just asked by mail the possibility to have some discount.
Anybody else could have done this, I have tried and they said yes it's possible.
I am not a selfish person, so I have asked if it was possible to  distribute the discount on the community.
I have told them that I was going to gather some people with the same interest to have a better discount, that's all I am doing.
That's why I  have stated that the more we are the better the discount will be.
If you are still in doubt, just ask some more. No problem at all.

It would appear Comurit is showing as much excitement as i have been - I also got accused of being involved by another member due to my enthusiasm.  I guess this is something that we can actually really get excited about because the opportunities this thing opens up is rather amazing- particularly at the honest price they're asking.

So... any news on that potential group discounf? ;-)
