Over the course of several years that I've been following Kinefinity and owning the KineMini I've found that there is a certain group that has a negative bias towards the company and try to pick apart every little detail that they don't do right. It's like Trump supporters still moaning about Hillary's emails.
Yes, I've been critical of many of their choices and many times I considered moving to a different brand. Now I have a Terra 4K being delivered any day. Why? Because it is perfect for ME and MY line of work.
But whatever. If you don't want it, don't buy it.

Yeah but the damn thing is just like Red. You Have to buy their backs, their Grip, you are going to buy their 5" monitor, they probably have a in house tripod base for it, on and on. It is that stuff that cost damn near as much as the camera body. Then down the road they will come out with their own Media just like Red did, saying off the shelf stuff is not reliable in their cameras.
The grip to me is just plain stupid. It won't rotate when you want it to, and the damn thing has 3 tiny ass screws that hold it on. Who the hell thought that idea up??? Yeah it has a great output, but like any new company you are a test dummy for them, and you have to hope they are around 3 years for now. AJA Cion is a great example of , Christ I am glad I didn't buy into them  years ago, and I Almost Did! They have shit around, shit around, and it still looks like shit.
But it is definitely tempting I can say that. I would imagine it has as good of chance as any of them. But down the road I think even Arri will have a 5, 6 thousand dollar camera on the market. They will have to to compete with Panasonic, Sony on their Mirrorless by them. Hell maybe even Canon with their new Mirrorless will wake up by then. The days of these 80k dollar cameras are coming to an end. Think of a GH6s with 12 bit and Raw, throw a Speed Booster on it, game over.

I really don't think Philip Bloom ought to endorse Any product at all. Test them, tell it like it is, and don't take money doing it. Anytime money is involved it is easy to get the results they want you to get ,maybe not the truth.
Now if he needs money go out and shoot for a living and give up reviews. Pretty simple concept.  I just don't think a person ought to do both for money. And he Ain't doing this Kinefinity just for the hell of it. He is getting gear, or money, or both.

It just seems strange you'd take Philip Bloom at face value when he makes a statement about say the GH5S, but you won't if he says the same about the Terra 4K

Very unequal! He is still the same person.

So you're saying only gigantic companies get the benefit of the doubt? And the smaller ones get looked down at because.... they're small?

You make a valid point. But then again, as a current GH5 owner, I already know and trust Panasonic. The same can be said for most of the major manufacturers out there. So when I watch a work by someone such as @Neumann Films it's not so much about... is Panasonic a trustworthy manufacturer? Or, are their product reliable? It's more about the footage. And I believe in these cases the footage alone can speaks for itself.
We no doubt disagree on this point. But for myself, before parting with several thousands of dollars I need to be convinced that it is cash well spent. I need to know that the product will be reliable and that the company is here to stay, and will stand behind their products. Any service issues must be handled promptly. I'm not staying that this will not be the case with Kinefinity... I'm simply saying, I do not know.
If this was a camera I could buy stateside, from one of the major retailer, I would be more adventurous. But buying from a Chinese company and hoping for the best is not really my thing. I could be wrong, but I suspect many here feel as I do. Deny it all you like. But until Kinefinity can convince people such as myself, that have the cash to do business, but choose not to, because of these uncertainties, they will remain nothing more than an interesting oddity.

Who says anywhere that he is getting paid for a review???! That is an awfully large leap to jump to.

I can’t speak for Philip Bloom’s personal and professional ethics. I don’t know the man. He seems fairly honest with his reviews.
I do know he received the camera about a month ago. And although I don’t know the details of his upcoming appearance at this trade show, I’d prefer to assume the best than the worst.
And at this point there’s no indication to assume otherwise. Just my opinion.

Could say the same for the Red Raven, and that one doesn't even have a speed booster option.

    No, the Canon doesn't "win".

Kinefinity with eND for the win:

Exactly. The market budget alone of Canon is I bet massively bigger then Kinefinity's budget for everything.

Well, cost is a great reason to buy any comparable over any other more expensive thing. C200 wins on internal ND and autofocus.
But here are the other reasons to get the Terra 4k over the C200 (besides the already stated ones of SSD, lens mounts, speedbooster, etc.):
75 vs 60 max fps at full sensor readout extra stop of dynamic range 14 vs 13 (manufacturer claims, both) internal ProRes smaller lighter but, yeah, no reason at all to consider it.

Agreed. Their cameras don't try to do too much. (And I was there for the Tom Antos Kinemax test posted earlier in the thread). On the Kinemax the menus were very straightforward, responsive. The color science gives a nice flat image that's ready for grading. No wonky "Sony colors", no BS. There were some issues with that camera, though, as Tom pointed out in the video.
I believe the team at Kine are working overtime on the engineering side to add features and solve issues. But the biggest question mark before I pay that much cash (admittedly much less than similarly-spec'ed cameras) is whether the box is production ready? Does it work in the cold and in the snow? In the Rain? In blistering heat? How reliable is it? That's the $5000 question that separates the Terra and, say, a used Sony F5, or Epic Dragon. If it were priced to compete with the Ursa Mini 4.6k I'd be ready to buy, but in that FS7 range the reputation of the company, and resale value does carry a little more weight. That said, the Terra looks very promising. I want one. Or, at least, to test one.

This is all very subjective, but the reason I'm excited about future Kine cameras is that to me the images coming out of the Kine sensors all have a nice matte like characteristic as opposed to the glossy feel of a lot of modern cameras. Feels very organic and cinematic. I know those words get thrown around a lot, sometimes to the point of wanting to claw your eyes out sometimes, but I can't think of any other way to describe it.

Andrew, while it's relatively easy to get great color and especially skintones from 5D3 RAW, the same cannot be said for the A7S. While the A7S can look great, especially with post work (sometimes a lot of post work), it has a problem with green that can make skintones a challenge. Have also seen examples online where the highlights make skin look like plastic (something I don't recall seeing with 5D3 RAW examples online (certainly not with anything we have shot)).

When the A7S can produce something like this:

Act of Valor was shot by Shane Hurlbut on Canon 7d (apsc) cos they could use PL Mount Cinema lenses on it and have the corect field of view with them
unlike the 5D MKIIs they also used that needed full frame lenses Zeiss ZE
