liork got a reaction from deezid in Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
It was shot in ISO 8000 and thats what we judge. And the remarks about "most whatching is done on 1080p" is not relevanat because in the very near future, it will change.

liork reacted to Andrew Reid in Why Do People Hate The Nikon Z6? What mirrorless to go with
This is a really good idea. The forum software doesn't have a Ghost feature but it should have it.
I had to ban him in the end. Too much BLAH BLAH.

liork reacted to BasiliskFilm in Sony a7 III discussion
Need to see figures, but assuming that S35 mode on the A7III will have 1:1 pixel readout for 4K, which could be significantly faster than the 6K downsample from the whole sensor. So if you want minimum rolling shutter, and extra reach for action, then crop mode might be a good option.

Well strangely enough I 'am' an economist (or have a PHD in Economics from Cambridge Uni (UK))...

liork reacted to thefactory in Advice about Olympus OM-D em1 II vs Panasonic etc. offers
I have really enjoyed the manual clutch thing on the Olympus lenses when I was shooting m43. The lenses feel solid and well built. I miss them.
Wish some other manufactures would implement that feature on their lenses.

liork got a reaction from jonpais in New Panasonic G9 - multiaspect sensor?
"AF capabilities of the G9 put it in league only with the Sony A9 for sports shooters".
I think this is a wishful thinking, contrast only AF compared to the Sony A9 693 phase auto focus points. I have tested the A9 with a fast action and this is a very high bar to be reached.

liork got a reaction from TheRenaissanceMan in Sony A7S Mark 3 - What to expect
The new A7R III does not dim the back screen anymore while taking 4K.

We had the same topic on the GH5...

liork reacted to jcs in PC hardware, Premiere CC and GH5 clips
@Orangenz - makes sense you needed fast random seek (SSD) with this many clips. For 1-2 clips I can get away with 5400RPM USB3 external drives (smooth 4K editing; any hiccups are PP CC optimization issues (2010 12-Core MacPro on OSX Sierra; Win10Pro box and latest Nvidia drivers is generally much faster (faster 10-Core (single chip), Win10Pro and Nvidia drivers just plain faster than same hardware under OSX, GTX 1080 8GB probably only has a slight real-world improvement over the GTX 980ti 6GB)).
Perhaps try your test again with all video tracks (except the bottom) set at 50% opacity (or crop them so all clips are at least partially visible) . The last time I tried a test like that FCPX beat the pants off PP CC.

liork reacted to dbp in New Ryzen 8 core 16 thread CPU
I know it uses GPU more, but it still relies heavily on CPU for rendering.
I just switched from a GTX 570 1.2gb to a GTX 1060 6gb and my render times with HD pocket raw footage increased exactly 0%.
-
liork got a reaction from Santiago de la Rosa in New Ryzen 8 core 16 thread CPU
Well, its rendering power is similar to i7 6900K but much less expensive...

@webrunner5 Some software, like Vegas Pro rely much more on CPU rendering than GPU.

"5 axis stabilisation" is bullshit, its a software only thing that you have with every normal Video editing software.
