Hi JG, Isn't at all difficult to aligned. These time was my first shot with Moller, so I got my first experience and sometime I got hurry to shot and misaligned some shots. My adaptor is a crap...You need a good one to handle better.
Here are 4 more videos with Moller...

    Best regards.

This Lomo is so heavy that a clamp would just tear the taking lens apart. Rail support is needed.

Yes, the price was less than 10e (postage included). Mine comes at 52mm (probably will do for Sun Anamorphic and Schneider Cinelux, will post some results, when done).

Have you tried uploading 2592x1080? With anamorphic adapter you don't really gain any resolution. Something similar is squezing 1920x1080 ordinary footage to 960x1080 and back, you'll see what happens in terms of resolution. Otherwise 1920x804 is just a way of presenting your footage, I prefer 800 or 816 (dividable by 16)....

Zeiss 63/2x is sure for keep; Kiptar and Sankor, too. Rectimascopes are OK, especially smaller ones (48/2x), about B&L and meopta can't tell.

The squeeze varies yes, usually it gets lower at closer distances (for example 2x at infinity and ~1.66x at 1.5m for my Sun). You can use diopters for close up shots, you can have your gear focused at infinity, this way your squeeze factor remains 2x.

Matthias MalleÅ¡iÄ reacted to Gábor Ember in Sun Anamorphic & Helios-44M rehousing idea
OK new stuff. I need to design two sockets for the front and back glass block of the SUN. The original housing for the front glass does not enable proper alignment, it loosens the whole group which can rotate even from cleaning with a cloth. I need to create a tube that holds the glass in position with probably O-rings and a threaded ring that tightens, fixes the glass in place. Now this tube has to be aligned (only once). I am now at 10 parts for the design. It is way more than what I first wanted but they are much more simple.

I really need to post some pics of what I am talking about...

Edit.: Since I will place the SUN back glass really close to the helios I may be able to eliminate vignetting.

Can anyone suggest a light helical grease? I will need to grease the parts but I don't want to make the focusing really heavy.

A finnally got around to start actual CAD work, still pretty noob at it. I don't know how to make threads but the sizes are accurate.
Sun front, Sun back, Helios block

Slot for the Sun back lens that sits right on the front of the Helios block
Ring that holds the Sun back lens in the slot (similar to the original design, except now it is on the front side of it)
I still don't know if white lithium grease would be good as helical grease for this build.
Also I am thinking of screwing a M42 to EF adapter to the back of the lens tube with 3 screws. Would this be a good idea or is it better to find a broken Canon EF lens and use its mount instead?

I think it works yes, I can focus way beyond 10 meters. Are you able to focus very close, less than 1m? If you are not able to reach infinity then the other end of the focus must be shifted as well.

Yeah from the image it looks like it should be unscrewed at the 4inch mark of the tape measure.
The remaining part should be like this: http://transferconvert.co.uk/cinemania/iscon3.jpg , this is the anamorphic adapter part.
    I suggest you ask JohnBarlow

If it worked without the taking lens then it means that it has the original taking lens on the back of it (the projection lens). By itself an anamorphic adapter cannot produce an image. You should try to unscrew the back part of the lens, or maybe post an image of the lens first.

Ultra stars are anamorphic projection lenses needing double focusing. These lenses are made for projection, so they don't focus very close, usually in the range of around 1.5 to 2 meters or so.

First you mount them to a taking lens (with rear part of anamorphic as close as possible to taking lens as possible) using a clamp or a rail mount. When mounting, you need to rotate and align the anamorphic so that vertical and horisontal lines are really vertical and horisontal. People often shine a light into the lens to see a flare for that alignment. It can work to align it with camera pointed at truly vertical wall too (like a wall, door or something else you know will be aligned).

When focusing an object at around 5 meter or so - first adjust your taking lens to 5 meters and then the anamorphic to 5 meters. If you nail the focal distance on both lenses your image should be in focus. If the focus is wrong on one of the lenses, you won't have anything in focus.

Search in the forums a bit as well and you'll find more threads about:
    - aligning different anamorphics
    - using double focusing

Hello everybody, here is my new anamorphic set ! :)

baby Berthiot Hypergonar anamorphic 1.75X lens
    Qioptiq Linos MeVis-C 35mm f1.6 C-mount lens

I've order a special machined step up flat ring, then unscrew from the C-mount lens the ring that maintains the glass, then replace by the flat ring. I've screwed the original Berthiot small clamp, then screw and aligned the anamorphic.
This combination of these two lenses seem to be very promising. Sharpness and no vignetting :)

Here is the set and two pictures taken with it on my OMD (video is coming soon). Thanks for your attention.
