If you can't see the way the lenses render the defocus then you're blind.  Even with the rather deep field at the wider end, it's plain to see that the lenses are defocusing with the 2x anamorphic distortion as well as adding the classical anamorphic aesthetic.  
And seeing as you are being so harsh and demanding of the lenses and of Hugo's test, as well as quite pompous, please direct us to some work of yours which illustrates your experience with anamorphic lenses in general, as well as the work you'd produce if SLR Magic had infact made lenses that matched Panavision c's or Vantage 74's.   
 
 

Aaron...I think you and Zak are already getting amazing footage with this profile, especially how recently you got it...Shian on PV has also come up with some beautiful shots...it will take time to nail this and Shian correctly predicted that most people will hate it, but he loves what this does for the GH4...it will only get better with time....

I'm going to presume it's 1 upgrade per camera....I own 2 so I guess it means buying 2 upgrades?
 

Am I the only one to find the greyish color skin to be kind of weird ??

Shoot log with your wb set up correctly and you dont need to do any grading at all! - just use your curves/levels to get to the contrast level which leaves the highlights unclipped, themids natural and the shadows not crushed.  then boost saturation if required.  

This one would get you away from the matte box and solve the problem of vignetting...

Very impressive piece of kit...the 240 degree focus throw is definitely an exciting addition to still lenses!!

Glad I just bought my 2nd GH4 body!!....new Metabones speedboster xl Nikon G arrived last night...big difference in the crop factor and the build quality on the adapter seems even better than before...It's good to have a confirmation from a Panny official that they are releasing vlog...now onward to the last step to make this the perfect camera for my use:)
 

Jordan....thanks for the footage and input...it looks amazing, especially considering you just applied an Alexa Rec 709 Lut instead of a full grade...clearly the log profile offers the posibility of many variations of the clips!...did you shoot with all picture settings at 0 or did you adjust them and if so, to what?...Again, thanks much for sharing!!

to Ebrahim...read your excellent article on the very overused "filmic,cinematic" term. The irony is that the quality of footage coming out of sub $1000 cameras today is astonishing and if we fetishize them less and use them more, the low budget film maker is now in a place unimaginable 10 years ago...a beautifully written and thoughtful essay....Thank you!

Just a brief note...won the 28-70 AF-S, and though it came at a high price ($960), it was described as virtually unused and in "new" condition...like you I am a big fan of shooting long....an intimacy level with the actors can be achieved that is rarely there when you're right in front of them...Thank you so much for your guidance with this...I've seen stills these lenses produce and of course the Bourne and Bond films...can't wait for this glass!!!....all the best!!
